I'm not usually a fan of covers of iconic songs but Vince Gill, who has the voice of an angel, can cover any song beautifully. Well done!
Thanks for watching Susan…Joe
Love love Vince ❤❤
Yup ... this a good one!
Absolutely beautiful 😊 ❤ I used to think that Josh Groban owned this but have just changed my mind 😊
Love Vince gill like no man
Vince has one of the purest voices I’ve ever heard! Just beautiful!!
Thanks for watching Trish.....Joe
This song has really stood the test of time.
Can't believe I missed this one. GREAT rendition. Just excellent! 😀😀😀
WOW ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SONG AND BEAUTIFUL VOICE VINCE GILL CONGRATULATIONS
This performance was awesome Vince Gill is a very humble and gifted person. His talent as a musician player, singer and writer is a gift to all who will stop and take in the experience. And then to have Larry k. there playing his heart out one of the greatest modern piano peaces was priceless. Thanks Joe Chambers these videos you put out are timeless themselves. You have done more for the musician ( that should have got the recognition all along) than anyone else. Thank you Sr. for all of us who truly appreciate what you do.
Thanks Frank…Joe
This man could sing the phone book and it would chart!
That comment has been used before but it certainly applies here! I'm just curious regarding when this was recorded. Vince looks a bit younger here. He was excellent then and still is!! We look forward to enjoying his performances for a long time to come.
@@ChangingTides777 Okay
Very nice performance by Gill and very cool to have the pianist from the original recording with Simon and Garfunkel, Larry Knechtel.
Thanks for watching Bob....Joe
I love you Vince there will never be noone have the talent or voice you have ,God bless you
Some people say Vince’s voice sounds like a woman but I don’t hear that. I hear a pure sweet voice!
Pure voice, pure emotion. Angels possess this man.
Perfect description-he IS AN ANGEL IN A HUMAN SUIT.......THANK GOD WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THIS ANGEL....
🥲 💙
Beautiful.
Extremely heartwarming tear-jerker this one, found while surfing the 'Bridge' on YT in honor of a magical animal rescue called Horse Plus Humane Society down south. I think this may be their theme song, seriously...
Once again excellent job,
thank you!
I cried at his version
God blessed Vince Gill with an awesome beautiful talent!!!! Would love to hear some more Christian songs looking for a song for my funeral but not a sad one.
Hi again Peggy.... I’m sure Vince has a lot of great songs but hope your not needing one anytime soon... best, Joe
Go Rest High on That Mountain might be one.
It’s interesting to me that you’re planning the music for your funeral because I’ve done that too. Well actually I’ve thought about how I would want to the environment during my last days on earth. This happened after I worked at a hospice; I gained a great deal from that experience! So I know I want James Taylor playing but I’m not sure who else…the problem with me is that I have an incredibly wide appreciation for lots of different kinds of music so I don’t know if I’ll be able to choose.
Fan double A tastic piano player. Wow, what a talent.
Thanks for watching Mike.........Joe
Beautiful, thank you
Vince always makes singing any song seem like falling off a log.
I almost wish I never found your channel just so I could discover it again. ❤️
Thanks Brother... very happy you’re enjoying watching... best, Joe
His amazing voice always gets my attention.
Vince’s delivery was amazing for sure, and given his obvious talent, who would expect anything less. But for those less familiar with Larry K, seeing/hearing this must have really blown them out of the water. RIP Larry, you were truly awesome brother!
Geezus, Why has this taken a couple of years to get to little old New Zealand??, I know we are thousands of miles away in the Southern Hemisphere,, But it is Vince Gill
What an amazing talent!!!!! Awesome voice and stage presence!!
Vince should record this
Nice!
Life has created a remarkable man in Mr. Gill👍😎
👍😎❤🖖
Love brother
That was awesome !!!
What a beautiful rendition of that song.
It's interesting to see how he played it 50 years after his original cut.
Thanks for all the wonderful videos over this past really strange year Joe, and thanks for all the recognition for all the truly gifted and deserving musicians who usually don't get it.
Take care and have a great day sir.
Thanks 65..... Joe
The GREAT Larry Knechtel on the piano!
That was incredible Joe. What an amazing singer & performer Vince Gill is. Oh, and let's not forget that he is also a monster guitarist! 👍👍🎤🎤🎸🎸👍👍
Thanks again Steve....Joe
One of my favorite guitarists, amazing player
Piano is overplayed in my opionion but Vince is great as usual. Less is more.
Chuck… Larry was the original keyboardist on the record. Won a Grammy for it.Best, Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum He is definitely crazy talented... obviously. It just seemed to take away from the feeling of the song....for me. My comment wasn't personal against his abilities. It's only my opinion. Thanks for the inside info though.
Undeniably Vince Gill's vocals were amazing but that pianist was brilliant too. I loved his flourishes.
Hi Kenneth... yes Larry was the pianist on the record... best, Joe
Exactly. The keyboardist was spot on. He was playing on top of song’s time with Vince’s voice falling in behind the piano’s notes.
@@gibfen1235 agreed, I found the piano flourishes to be in poor taste. Musicians should try to understand the meaning of a song before trashing it. Lounge singer piano is what that is.
@@gibfen1235 That is Larry Knechtel. He is the pianist on the original recording of the song with Simon and Garfunkel. If, for some reason, you don't like his playing, that is your right, but there is no one in the world who understands this song more than Mr. Knechtel, with the obvious exceptions of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.

With all that's happening in 2020 this songs nails it! Vince is Ambassador of Nashville music scene that he earn! Vince on call for the next big thing! Thanks to musician hall of fame for mini concert's, interviews !
Thanks again for watching Pat... Joe
Beautiful song.... Beautifully done.....
As great as Vince Gill is, and btw he did a fine job here, but NO ONE can top the original performance by Art Garfunkel.
I love Vince Gill, singer of all time. Great voice, great singer . I love all of his songs. I know almost of all his songs by heart. Way to go Vince. This is a beautiful song, Bridge over Troubled Waters!!! Beautiful song.
Thanks for watching Sandra……. joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Amazing ! This makes me feel so special. God bless you !
So comforting as the lyrics say. Thanks MHOF.
Thanks for watching John...Joe
SOMEONE WANT TO TELL VINCE TO NEVER QUIT SINGING
Joe, your TH-cam videos are like a “Bridge Over Troubled Water” for music lovers! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication! Merry Christmas 🎄! 💫
Thanks Larry... Merry Christmas to you and family too... Joe
Love his beautiful voice
Hi Peggy.... Thanks for watching........Joe
Amazing Voice…no one like Vince Grant👀…..nice little smooth “hit on Amy” there ….🤣🔥🔥🔥sparks were Everywhere
Beautiful song and voice
Larry Knechtel recreated the piano he played on the original SAG hit.
Vince has such a beautiful voice....he can take any song from any genre and breathe exciting, new life into it. He is a true talent. This video would have been better if the piano player wasn't playing so loud and forcefully .... like he was accompanying a marching band! The loud piano drowned Vince's voice out somewhat and that is just wrong! The song is a calming, sweet and gentle one....the piano simply contradicted the message, the meaning, the moment, and of course, the singer.
thank you so much .i really appreciate the love and support . where are you from ?

That piano player is Larry Knechtel and he played the piano on the original Simon and Garfunkel recording of Bridge Over Troubled Water
Love Vince's voice. Beautiful.
let it be me Sting and vince
Let it be me
let it bee
Let it be
That was great, that was greatness. Congrats to you Joe for this accomplishment.
Thanks again for supporting us Playpen.... Merry Christmas...Joe
Vince really does have an angelic voice!!
And Larry Knechtel on piano! Could it get any better? Thanks Joe.
Thank you too Roger... joe
Larry K. played piano on the original recording with S&G and a few times in concert as well. Thanks for posting this.
Yes it could be better. Just play the song simply like it was created, don't add anything extra.
@@yankeexpress Correct
Vince could sing the encyclopedia and it would be amazing. He is so talented, has obviously the best heart. I have loved his music ever since I heard him. Amy is so.lucky have tge love of this man.
Love Vince Gill many thanks Joe
Thank you Nelly... Joe
It was great, but why didn't he do the last verse (sail on, silver......)?. Missed hearing that. VG sang it beautifully, however.
Hi Alan... thanks for watching. You know I was wondering why I did that. It was our first induction concert. We inducted a lot of people and it cost thousands of dollars to rent the symphony hall plus stage and film crews so if I remember correctly we cut the last verse to save time. Looking back obvious I wish I had not cut the last verse. Thanks again for watching... Joe
Such a shame. The last verse in my opinion sends the song into immortality. I am always affected emotionally by the “I will ease your mind” line. It makes the song.
Needed this today! Thanks, Joe! AMAZING!
Thanks Garth...Joe
Great version of a great song 🎶🤙🏻
That man can flat out sing!!!
That was nice. Great song with a powerful but unpretentious message. Vince Gil and the pianist did a great job making it happen.
Hi Skip... yes Larry the pianist was the original pianist on the record... best....Joe
Vince Gill’s voice is so beautifully clear ..this song is not easily covered but he can do it!!
Here in 2021
Thanks for watching Gary.....Joe
God angle
Good job, great singing for sure. But go back and listen to Artie... untouchable. And they didn't do the last (maybe time limited?) verse - the soaring, brilliant, crescendo 'Sail on silver girl', reportedly a reference to Simon's mother.
Thanks, Joe. Beautiful.
Thanks Roger.... Joe
Vince Gill was great as usual, but does anyone agree that the piano was a bit much. I know the event was a tribute for the great members of the Wrecking Crew but a bit heavy handed. The piano on the S & G original was right on point.
One of my favorite all time songs 👍🏻😎
Vince's voice is just awesome.
hey . thank you . where are you from ?
Watch Vince Gill, David Crosby and Jimmy Webb sing Brian Wilson’s “Surf’s Up” if you want to hear Gill at his very best. Magic.
Wow! Great Performance!
Thanks for watching Lori.....Best, Joe
I love Vince but Elvis knock that song out of the park. No one could do it better thank the King!
Art Garfunkel sings it much better than Elvis
Wonderful, Vince❣
Wow love stem to my Vince sing wow snd the piano made it just right!
Thanks for watching Patti... best, Joe
Is the man playing on piano the original played in the album of Simon and Garfunkel?
I see Bobby Emmons there. I thought he was a Memphis guy. Don Randi. Burton. A lot of talent on that stage. Thanks Joe.
Thanks for watching Winston... you’re right.... Bobby was inducted that night as a member of the Memphis Boy’s...Joe
Great song that reminds me of when I was too young to realize how screwed up the world was. Is it worse now
Give it up for the piano man.
Glen Campbel perfects this song
Vince is awesome on this song!
Do not ever call this the wrecking crew
I never liked country music until I first heard Vince Gill and Dolly Parton singing Dolly's song I Will Always Love You.
Thanks for watching Dean…. Yes that was a great recording……. joe
Thank you for uploading this performance Joe. I saw Paul Simon in recent years on his farewell tour, but BOTW wasn't in the setlist. This is even more poignant right now considering the death of Charley Pride today, so special to listen to, 2020 has been a tough year for many including myself. Seeing and listening to this is very healing. Merry Christmas to you and yours Joe, thanks again!
Thanks John.... Merry Christmas to your family too,.. best, Joe
Like 100 Thanks to VG and the Good folks at MHFM
Thanks again LSAC.... Joe

Is that Creed as Master of Ceremonies?
Yes neek...... you know he played guitar in the Grass Roots. Best...Joe
WOW.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The dude on the piano needs to calm down
I believe he could sing this armadillo and sound great (that means without music). But they went too jazzy for this song.
