Because I’m a dumb-dumb when it comes to the whole complexity of the whole mmorpg genre, especially BDO, most guides don’t work for me because cuz people still use a lot of words and item names I don’t know about as a new player. These are the best beginner guides for BDO that I have come across. I say this because you actually explain why you are teaching the steps you do. Most guides on other channels aren't guides at all--they're exhibitions.

Hi! I just started playing BDO a few days ago on PC. The game seems really overwhelming but I’m having fun learning. Your guides are the clearest guides I’ve found. I appreciate that you don’t act like new players like me know everything bc the reality is that the only thing I know how to do is quest and fight. The guides are extremely helpful and they’re helping me really enjoy the game
U deserve more subscriber and views so total beginners can watch all of ur videos. Btw i don't have any idea what to do with my goods like potato and chicken after all the steps i did to make good money. Do you sell it instantly or wait for the price to go up in the market or neither?
Hello Emma. Thank you for the kind words. =). For the items in terms of chicken, i will sell them but I do check the line chart on the market to see if price is good before I sell. Reason being, storage npc that keeps the chicken meat does not have weight restriction. So I can store a lot and only let go when it's a good time. So keep monitoring. Even when price is good, I tend to keep some stock still. In case a cooking event that requires chicken comes in, and everyone buys it, market will be out of stock and due to tons of pre order, price will sky rocket. For the potato, refer to my cooking guide on starch base item which potato is one of it. I keep some sell some. Cause I use them to cook beer. But if u have more wheat than potatoes then you cell potatoes and use wheat instead. I do cooking on weekends where I can work at home on my home pc. I set up cooking, minimise game to cook in background then I will check back every 30 mins on the cooking utensil durability and stock of ingredients in my inventory. Cooking beer gives side dishes and those can be exchanged for contributions points so for a non combat player who is busy with work, that's a good semi afk activity to get CP. On the other hand the beer is good for feeding workers. My worker empire is full of drunkards so each day and night I have to feed 700 n more beer each time to refill all their stamina. The surplus beer I stock some and sell some. So that's how I lower cost of feeding workers by cooking myself to earn cp while I make some extra cash. If you want, you can check potato flour pricing. If it's good, press (L) and start click "grind". Starch based item can grind into flour, E.g. Corn into corn floor etc. Doing so means you can earn processing exp to level up processing and as it levels up, your family life skill fame increase and your daily black spirit safe silver reward will increase as well. Oldrin 187 , first thing is milk. Find farms with cow. Park a sub character there. When u press ESC , DISCONNECT , you can actually see all the energy level of the characters, so whenever possible, log in the sub character which is already at farm to squeeze the milk out of cows. Milk always sells fast and well. For now, as you need to build up your gathering level fast, I suggest having to gather herbs and plants cause these are fast gathering animation per cycle, so u can quickly level up. Try use tag character system, so when that gathering character runs out of energy, tag the other in to gather. I think it’s important to build up your gathering level first so u can gather more since that level up is important in preventing energy consumption which will limit your gathering. Lastly, click the About us of this channel. Look through the info and click my guild BDO discord. Once in my guild discord, drop me (Arvantis) a DM, let me know who you are on TH-cam, I will set u to subscriber status, and from there u can check out more info on what to gather with my guild mates who are hard core gatherers as well.

Appreciate the wonderful comment. Take your time, slowly build up a stock pile, then sell excess. A reasonable stock helps when you shift contents and it becomes a material required for that content.

For anyone on PS4, the find NPC is either in the Menu when you press Options or if not go to the Radial Wheel and go to menus, and add the Find NPC options on the Wheel if it's not already there

14:20 Please note that, in the present version of the game, when you assign a worker to a node, before you click on the "Start Work" button, there is now a "Change" button that you can click where you will be able to set how many times the worker should work before stopping.

Chicken meat is fine. Most items that can use for cooking works well. For new players you have early access to these so it’s ok. As you build up contribution points later, you will likely reset the entire node setup and review what u wanna change to. So don’t worry so much for now. Click the discord link in my video description so u can ask more questions there and get faster responses, TH-cam doesn’t notify all comments and questions so there is a high chance I miss some or the subsequent replies.

Best guide for beginner on nodes and workers. The one area I was puzzled on was CP, I dont know anything about whether it is exhaustive resource but worked out it must be. I was always thinking how do players expand worker empire if they have 275 CP like your account...do they give up other nodes?
For CP wise. I stay away from activities like farming. Cause it requires CP to rent fences so its not good for worker empire. I also use somethinglovely.net to plan my gathering route connections making sure that I choose the path that uses the least CP possible. Lastly you can check my storage/market npc guide on how to delegate storage so you don't waste CP over those storage expansion. You only need energy to invest contribution points in a node when you invest in it when you're not there. If you invest in it while talking to the node manager for that node, it costs 0 energy.
Yup. thanks for sharing Kalessin. Usually those who invest remotely is when they have value pack and the condition requires energy. those who are there physically, it will not require energy for the node investment. Great video for a very confusing topic (for me). I've been playing for a week and a half now, and have purchased many workers, but can't send any out. My issue: I need a tier-1 house! I can't seem to hire workers (and have them work) in any major town without having a tier-1 house. Being a new player, I can't imagine spending a ton of money to make this happen. Any advice?
Hi Adam Bomb , just remember that in each town, buy houses that can set to lodging to house workers and connect nodes to let them gather the resources. However if the resource is shape like a crate specialty and has a tier 1 requirement, those are not resources you want to gather as it’s unlikely any new player can gather them as those tier 1 house decorations will require you to pay for it. Use www.somethinglovely.net to see all resource nodes available.

These are the best beginner guides for BDO that I have come across. I say this because you actually explain why you are teaching the steps you do. Most guides on other channels aren't guides at all--they're exhibitions.

Hello Emma. Thank you for the kind words. =). For the items in terms of chicken, i will sell them but I do check the line chart on the market to see if price is good before I sell.
Reason being, storage npc that keeps the chicken meat does not have weight restriction. So I can store a lot and only let go when it's a good time. So keep monitoring. Even when price is good, I tend to keep some stock still. In case a cooking event that requires chicken comes in, and everyone buys it, market will be out of stock and due to tons of pre order, price will sky rocket.
For the potato, refer to my cooking guide on starch base item which potato is one of it. I keep some sell some. Cause I use them to cook beer. But if u have more wheat than potatoes then you cell potatoes and use wheat instead.
I do cooking on weekends where I can work at home on my home pc. I set up cooking, minimise game to cook in background then I will check back every 30 mins on the cooking utensil durability and stock of ingredients in my inventory.
Cooking beer gives side dishes and those can be exchanged for contributions points so for a non combat player who is busy with work, that's a good semi afk activity to get CP. On the other hand the beer is good for feeding workers. My worker empire is full of drunkards so each day and night I have to feed 700 n more beer each time to refill all their stamina. The surplus beer I stock some and sell some. So that's how I lower cost of feeding workers by cooking myself to earn cp while I make some extra cash.
If you want, you can check potato flour pricing. If it's good, press (L) and start click "grind". Starch based item can grind into flour, E.g. Corn into corn floor etc. Doing so means you can earn processing exp to level up processing and as it levels up, your family life skill fame increase and your daily black spirit safe silver reward will increase as well.

No problem at all. I am just sharing what you can do for the start. It's not a permanent or best plan but just one that works for me. Fundamentally it's to get you started and once you get a hang of it, you can experiment and make adjustment to suit your play time and game objectives =D so all the best.

- Workers continue to work when you are online. If you go offline, they will continue to complete their current cycle, after which they will stop.
- You can promote workers, but that will be covered in a future guide.
- Feed workers with beer to replenish their energy (Cook or buy it from marketplace)
- If your storage is full, worker will stop. Make sure you have at least 1 empty slot in storage.
- Workers do not bring back just the item you ask them to gather, occasionally they bring back trash items, so make sure you have enough storage npc slot.
- If you have enough NPC storage slot previously and suddenly the Workers stop working, check your Value Pack and see if it has expired. Value Pack when expire means the additional storage slots in all your storage npc will be "Frozen/removed" therefore, workers take it that your storage has run out of slots.** ABOUT THIS VIDEO**

Oldrin 187 , first thing is milk. Find farms with cow. Park a sub character there. When u press ESC , DISCONNECT , you can actually see all the energy level of the characters, so whenever possible, log in the sub character which is already at farm to squeeze the milk out of cows. Milk always sells fast and well. For now, as you need to build up your gathering level fast, I suggest having to gather herbs and plants cause these are fast gathering animation per cycle, so u can quickly level up. Try use tag character system, so when that gathering character runs out of energy, tag the other in to gather. I think it’s important to build up your gathering level first so u can gather more since that level up is important in preventing energy consumption which will limit your gathering. Lastly, click the About us of this channel. Look through the info and click my guild BDO discord. Once in my guild discord, drop me (Arvantis) a DM, let me know who you are on TH-cam, I will set u to subscriber status, and from there u can check out more info on what to gather with my guild mates who are hard core gatherers as well.

Hello Kalsaur Wolf, you'll soon have more and more workers haha. Glad you find it useful. Remember to find the Worker Supervisor whenever you go to each town, if that town has one, you'll get a free worker (meaning to say a worker that doesn't require lodging). Have fun :)

For anyone on PS4, the find NPC is either in the Menu when you press Options or if not go to the Radial Wheel and go to menus, and add the Find NPC options on the Wheel if it's not already there

14:20 Please note that, in the present version of the game, when you assign a worker to a node, before you click on the "Start Work" button, there is now a "Change" button that you can click where you will be able to set how many times the worker should work before stopping.

This is fantastic! Is there any use for the chicken meat or are we best of just putting workers on potatoes
Chicken meat is fine. Most items that can use for cooking works well. For new players you have early access to these so it’s ok. As you build up contribution points later, you will likely reset the entire node setup and review what u wanna change to. So don’t worry so much for now. Click the discord link in my video description so u can ask more questions there and get faster responses, TH-cam doesn’t notify all comments and questions so there is a high chance I miss some or the subsequent replies.

Best guide for beginner on nodes and workers. The one area I was puzzled on was CP, I dont know anything about whether it is exhaustive resource but worked out it must be. I was always thinking how do players expand worker empire if they have 275 CP like your account...do they give up other nodes?
For CP wise. I stay away from activities like farming. Cause it requires CP to rent fences so its not good for worker empire. I also use somethinglovely.net to plan my gathering route connections making sure that I choose the path that uses the least CP possible. Lastly you can check my storage/market npc guide on how to delegate storage so you don't waste CP over those storage expansion. You only need energy to invest contribution points in a node when you invest in it when you're not there. If you invest in it while talking to the node manager for that node, it costs 0 energy.
Yup. thanks for sharing Kalessin. Usually those who invest remotely is when they have value pack and the condition requires energy. those who are there physically, it will not require energy for the node investment. And for additional benefits of our viewer family reading the tips by Kalessin, take note (unlocking excavation point dialogue with NPC will require energy so still have to ready it.). Great video for a very confusing topic (for me). I've been playing for a week and a half now, and have purchased many workers, but can't send any out. My issue: I need a tier-1 house! I can't seem to hire workers (and have them work) in any major town without having a tier-1 house. Being a new player, I can't imagine spending a ton of money to make this happen. Any advice?
Hi Adam Bomb , just remember that in each town, buy houses that can set to lodging to house workers and connect nodes to let them gather the resources. However if the resource is shape like a crate specialty and has a tier 1 requirement, those are not resources you want to gather as it’s unlikely any new player can gather them as those tier 1 house decorations will require you to pay for it. Use www.somethinglovely.net to see all resource nodes available.
