Lets not forget Microsoft bought Bethesda last year as well. My friends and I used to joke about this years ago, but to see it actually happening is pretty insane.
I saw this coming eventually and wondered why they didn't do it earlier to leverage the Xbox One and it's terrible launch phase. Now that Xbox is actually a respectable console they decided to make these power moves is weird but w.e. I just hope they stay true to making it good for gamers all around, not just Xbox gamers. That would set a standard for the gaming industry and also show that Microsoft/Xbox isn't out to "destroy" Sony/PlayStation. Maybe then PlayStation will go full backwards compatible like Xbox and boost PS Plus to something similar to Gamepass, instead of just hanging onto exclusives forever. Exclusives are great on PS but most are 1 time playthroughs with no replayability. 3rd party multiplayer games are the most played games

But Nintendo screwed them over and went with Phillips instead for a disc-based system (which never came out. And Phillips eventually made it's CD-I). The chances to see these 2 companies team up are close to 0%. However, a partnership between Xbox and Nintendo isn't impossible. What you should be worried about is Nintendo and Sony ganging up and using all the resources and industry know how they have after the last 50 years of dominance and run Microsoft out, while destroying gaming as we know it in the meantime. The problem is that with all the studios MS has acquired, even before their acquisition of Acti/Blizz they had all the IP needed to crush the market with great games. That didn't happen, and it didn't happen because a single entity trying to do too much never works out well. Indeed, if it weren't for the Mickey Mouse copyright act, all of these large media companies would have already collapsed under their own weight. It is only because of perpetual copyrights minus a day that they're still standing.

I saw this coming eventually and wondered why they didn't do it earlier to leverage the Xbox One and it's terrible launch phase. Now that Xbox is actually a respectable console they decided to make these power moves is weird but w.e. I just hope they stay true to making it good for gamers all around, not just Xbox gamers. That would set a standard for the gaming industry and also show that Microsoft/Xbox isn't out to "destroy" Sony/PlayStation. Maybe then PlayStation will go full backwards compatible like Xbox and boost PS Plus to something similar to Gamepass, instead of just hanging onto exclusives forever. Exclusives are great on PS but most are 1 time playthroughs with no replayability. 3rd party multiplayer games are the most played games

And then Nintendo started to lose a lot of exclusives to Playstation (Final Fantasy among many others).
The chances to see these 2 companies team up are close to 0%.

The new Halo is a joke. the story is a clusterfuck(written by a hyperactive child it seems). the open world is a static boring joke with basically only 2 setpieces(boring static haloring wood area with these octagon pillars and inside tech areals with the same textures everywhere). only thing fun about the game is the gunplay. Most Playstation exclusives are creative in gameplay, fun and have great storytelling.
