I love seeing a garden that is planned and mindfully planted. Makes me realize that the beds I have were haphazardly planted as they were developed. May be time to dig out and save much loved plants and discard others to make my beds more intentional.

I agree about the Oakleaf taking full sun. My Gatsby Moon has been in the full sun for 3 years now and he's loving his life and more than thriving. Finally, I'm seeing real height on my Little Lime. For so long I wondered why mine was only a couple feet tall when the tag suggests differently. This year it's about 4 foot tall... finally! Your garden is so beautiful, Jenny!

Just beautiful! I definitely am envious of those gorgeous roses. My poor climbers lose their leaves so badly from black spot. I even use the 3 in 1 and it still gets it. Tons of blooms just naked stems!

I garden in BC Canada, along the Rockies, and zone 4b, and It will be a solid month before my garden looks like your growth. Our gardening season is much shorter, but we are so enthusiastic to have growing things, we here in southern BC, and the rest of Canada that we are planting like mad right now.
Good morning Jenny! I was wincing the whole time when you were planting that beautiful mangave with your friend. I remembered seeing an older video of Laura from Garden Answer repotting a cactus and she used the cactus empty pot to make an indentation in the new pot full of soil and then just plopped in the cactus in his new home without having to stick her hands underneath the prickly plant to top off the soil around it. I hope you get the chance to try it, I think it’s better to use a little muscle to make a hole in a loosely pack soil than getting your hands injured by angry plant needles. I love how your garden is coming along specially the roses.
Love that generous gardener rose. I ordered a Gertrude Jekyll rose for a tuteur. I ordered last year and missed the cut off for shipping. So it arrived this year. I planted and it is blooming now, i am not happy with the color. The DA website pictured it a rich pink but the one I have is deep magenta, almost red. That is a disappointment. But it is thriving so I will learn to love her.

All your plants look terrific! Great tour! We planted x3 Little Lime's last spring and they turned to a beautiful pink/burgundy color in the fall. Loaded with blooms for such a newly planted small hydrangea. Love the Paint the Town Magenta.
I love everything about your garden. Color scheme is my preferred one and the play with shades of greens is as beautiful as the pops of color. The way the shrubs knit together is delightful and less weeding when plants shield the soil like that. I wasn't a spirea fan before, growing up my parents had some boring pink ones, but that raspberry color is stunning. I'm currently smothering an area of lawn with cardboard so I am dreaming what to plant in that new area. Maybe a spirea, maybe a Baptisia or Incrediball. Funny aside, I just spoke to my across-the-street neighbor when I brought out my trash bin, he and his son mow my lawn. He said they'd be raising my rate to $20 a mow. He was almost apologetic about the price hike, I had been paying $15 for several years. I told him I reduced the back yard lawn by about an eighth so he isn't surprised later this afternoon when he does the first mow of the season. 😀 I really love the mix of osteospermums colors, especially in the urns. I'm sorry to hear they don't care for the heat. You'd think a plant with "African" in the name would be heat-loving. Okay, now it's my turn to make something beautiful in my yard. ☕ I see you got your "sparkles" covered. I love that term.
