OMG, seeing these beauties free fly makes me so happy. Such beautiful little creatures and it's so endearing to see the connection they've created with their owners!
Not very often. We've only ever had 2 encounters and we've been flying for 9+ years. One of which was a tiny kestrel hawk who would pose no threat (but still dove at our macaw a couple times being territorial) and the other a hawk dropped out of a tree to test our flock (find a weak one) and immediately moved on. If there are any in the area, we stop flying until it either leaves or we do. When flying in large flocks like this though, it's very unlikely a predator bird would initiate.
BirdTricks well where i live there are many many lappwings which are territorial, but once a While i do see 2 hawks that kill small birbs, i hace a cockatiel that is trained to come to me everytime except when she is mad, but i m still scared of them, i Would adore some advice
You have to get a young one and bond with it then you work on recall training lots of it I've never done the training myself just do a lot of research 😁 if you ever get one I wish you the best in your training
Wow that looks like so much fun, get together every year and make life long friends. You all have the same thing in common, plus I loved the parrots and cockatoo's. The Macaw make the noise when they fly, I love watching this video. I hope everyone had a blast.
So awesome! Question- when you are outside with your parrots and your not flying them do they ever get spooked by something and just take off or fly off?
They might get spooked and fly off, of course. The flight response is a natural behavior if a bird is alarmed, and these birds are out in nature behaving naturally. The birds are also self-reliant and confident in their surroundings, so flying off is nothing to be concerned about. The bird will do its thing, and will come back in its own time, when it feels comfortable doing so. (But note especially that these birds are properly trained for free flight since fledging and are not just indoor pet birds being let loose.)
We are flying pretty big birds and a large flock together; plus this are not recognized prey. A bird of prey would have to be more desperate to come after these guys as they could most likely get hurt in the process and being hurt in the wild usually means death so they're selective about prey unless they're starving. Also we are flying at locations heavily guarded by ravens who are very territorial and chase hawks and eagles from the areas but don't seem to mind us.
Patriot Jefferson Wings should ONLY ever be clipped if the birds are too anxious/not good at controlled flights, and only the tips of the longest feathers should be trimmed, so the bird can still fly, just slowly, so they don't hurt hurt themselves. Most people don't know how to trim properly and it's awful- no bird born with flight should have it truely taken away
These are such healthy well adjusted birds! They are comfortable interacting with other birds, and other people, flying strong, and being happy! It warms my heart so much, compared to birds that ever see the outside of their house, or cage.
I would never be able to risk my bird like that... even if they were well trained I would worry so much about them getting hurt or attacked or lost. You guys have such good birds, it's amazing to see how much they trust you.
I'm using my channel. Hello my name is Fabio live in Brazil I really liked your videos. I am with two cubs of Arara Caninde blue and I would like to holly them to fly like yours. It's so exciting to see the birds flying in freedom I really want my birds to do the same. Thank you and congratulations for the way your animals are treated.

Something about the way you speak about your bird bothers me;; Did you have a good bond with your parrot? If you did he shouldn’t of flown away unless you didn’t train him to free fly If you didn’t teach your bird then your at fault, as sad as you may be

That's a fantastic video, I love all types of parrots but to see them fly freely like that is very satisfying on a personal level, as sadly till this day pet parrots are still being dumped by people who no longer want to take care of them, This video shows clearly how you have a strong bond with those birds and I hope it will raise awareness on how treat them.

Its so nice to watch these parrots fly and come back my parrot was 10 years old he flew and never come back im so sad .
Cant stop missing him
How often are Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, ect. an issue?
Not very often. We've only ever had 2 encounters and we've been flying for 9+ years. One of which was a tiny kestrel hawk who would pose no threat (but still dove at our macaw a couple times being territorial) and the other a hawk dropped out of a tree to test our flock (find a weak one) and immediately moved on. If there are any in the area, we stop flying until it either leaves or we do. When flying in large flocks like this though, it's very unlikely a predator bird would initiate.
BirdTricks Well that's just awesome. Looks so fun for birds and people both. Enjoy and thanks for the reply.😉
BirdTricks well where i live there are many many lappwings which are territorial, but once a While i do see 2 hawks that kill small birbs, i hace a cockatiel that is trained to come to me everytime except when she is mad, but i m still scared of them, i Would adore some advice
I almost cried of joy watching this.. the trust and the training are incredible
That would honestly make me nervous 😂
I‘ve never expected that the birds would coming back. Very nice
how do you train birds to do this. If I ever get a macaw I would love to let them fly free but im scared they wont come back
You have to get a young one and bond with it then you work on recall training lots of it I've never done the training myself just do a lot of research 😁 if you ever get one I wish you the best in your training
Wow that looks like so much fun, get together every year and make life long friends. You all have the same thing in common, plus I loved the parrots and cockatoo's. The Macaw make the noise when they fly, I love watching this video. I hope everyone had a blast.
So awesome! Question- when you are outside with your parrots and your not flying them do they ever get spooked by something and just take off or fly off?
ultimatejay waiting for answer 😆
They might get spooked and fly off, of course. The flight response is a natural behavior if a bird is alarmed, and these birds are out in nature behaving naturally. The birds are also self-reliant and confident in their surroundings, so flying off is nothing to be concerned about. The bird will do its thing, and will come back in its own time, when it feels comfortable doing so. (But note especially that these birds are properly trained for free flight since fledging and are not just indoor pet birds being let loose.)
11:35 One of the birds iniates a group flight.
Amazing to see such beautiful birds flying free. You're all so lucky you live in such a place and have the time to do this!
You should put treats on a drone 😜
birds will be scared
and maybe wont care
These birds are absolutely gorgeous, as are the locations!
How do you guys keep the hawks and falcons away from your birds?
We are flying pretty big birds and a large flock together; plus this are not recognized prey. A bird of prey would have to be more desperate to come after these guys as they could most likely get hurt in the process and being hurt in the wild usually means death so they're selective about prey unless they're starving. Also we are flying at locations heavily guarded by ravens who are very territorial and chase hawks and eagles from the areas but don't seem to mind us.
Those parrots have bolt cutters for beaks that would do serious damage to a hawk or falcon, and the birds of prey know better than to mess with them.
BirdTricks man your lucky I would Trade my Philippine eagle for a macaw in heartbeat
Tracer Oxton you have a Philippine Eagle? Jesus Christ. Those are endangered endemic species. You could be jailed owning them.
Seeing the birds all return to their respective owners is giving hokage vibes 😳 also this video made my feet tingle
It’s not like that, they just have been trained to return to their owners who they trust and love
What elevation is this and what is the maximum elevation they can fly at before the air is so thin that they get tired fast.
John i was thinking the exact same thing
These are such healthy well adjusted birds! They are comfortable interacting with other birds, and other people, flying strong, and being happy! It warms my heart so much, compared to birds that ever see the outside of their house, or cage.
I wish, I have one like this birds. One day I'll have one INN SHA ALLAH.
Turzo Hasan you will!
They usually cost from 1-20 thousand dollars even more depending on what you get
I would never be able to risk my bird like that... even if they were well trained I would worry so much about them getting hurt or attacked or lost. You guys have such good birds, it's amazing to see how much they trust you.
I'm using my channel.
Hello my name is Fabio live in Brazil I really liked your videos.
I am with two cubs of Arara Caninde blue and I would like to holly them to fly like yours.
Could you give me some guidelines on how to fly and come back to me.
At first my greatest fear is to release and never come back.
It's so exciting to see the birds flying in freedom I really want my birds to do the same.
Thank you and congratulations for the way your animals are treated.
This made my heart light up. Birds are gorgeous in flight, and they are so happy.
My shamrock macaw would just fly away 😂
ponthea gotta train them young. My bird would never leave my side
It’s stunningly beautiful to see these birds in flight, and to see their controlled swoop as they return to their human.😮
Oh my god are you guys not Scared that your Bird is going to fly away and never Return Back ,It happened to my bird It is really Sad😭❤
Was your bird recall trained and properly desensitized to outdoors? What happened?
Same miss you Phoenix 😭😥
Shotgun FoxNL their domestic birds about 2 to 30 something years old their like OWNER I LOVE YOU I SHALL FLY BUT COME BACK
Maybe it didn't like being with humans
once it lives in captivity, it won't survive in the wild so you should have a very strong bond with your bird for it to come back to you always.
i have to say those parrots are super freaking colorful they must live super healthy happy lives good job!
My bird free flights....
Around my room
I’ve gotta say this is definitely such a cool little thing to experience during the weekend. My abuelita had one and I loved petting him and having him sit on my shoulder while me and my abuelita watched movies. As time passed on I miss them both.💙 But this makes me want to get one so bad!
I tried this and my 1000$ parrot left never came back I’m sad he knew how to talk too
Play Boy Agent did you train him to come back?
Play Boy Agent you're supposed to have them professionally trained first.. and have an incredible bond
I hope you didn't do it just to see him talk...birds are much more advanced creatures, and require research before you get them
Something about the way you speak about your bird bothers me;;
Did you have a good bond with your parrot? If you did he shouldn’t of flown away unless you didn’t train him to free fly
If you didn’t teach your bird then your at fault, as sad as you may be
You we're the problem
You guys take such great care of your birds. It’s so inspiring
It's all fun and games until an eagle or hawk plucks your bird out of the sky
These birds are larger than eagles or Hawks
FALCON PUNCH
Beautiful birds! It's amazing that they are so attached to you that they always come back to you. They have no desire to be free or they would not come back!
Am I the only one who's really weirded out by these people?
Chase Reiner SEO Yes.
Yes you are
WTF why you weirded out for?
Yep
Why are you weirded out?
That's a fantastic video, I love all types of parrots but to see them fly freely like that is very satisfying on a personal level, as sadly till this day pet parrots are still being dumped by people who no longer want to take care of them, This video shows clearly how you have a strong bond with those birds and I hope it will raise awareness on how treat them.
Where I live there are Paraná pines where dozens of macaws congregate to eat. They are very nice to see flying around.
Its fun to see all the birds are buddies, flying together, having fun, while parents watch to keep them safe :D
The group flight @ 10:29 was epic. I've said this many times on your channel, your vids are my happy place. Don't own parrots nor ever expect to. Genuinely a happy thing to watch. ✌️❤️
I cannot express how much I love this video!
Man, this Bella and the other red macaw belonging to the Orange shirt guy is well trained! They fly really good, and always lands gracefully on his hands! :)
Wow! Beautiful! Y'all worked so hard on the training. Congrats to you all. 🐦
Wow you guys must have a very special bond with your birds for them to fly back to you.
What a gorgeous place and birds. The birds colours are all gorgeous😍
That's amazing, the birds just keep coming back and they don't fly away for good.
I ways enjoy your free flight videos, especially in such breathtaking locations! Wow, the epic landscape! Love it! Parrots flying and enjoying their exercise and companionship with their birdie friends.
If you have any ideas of other places to fly that you think would be equal in landscape, let us know! We are always looking for more spots to fly :)
That video made me cry, it was so unexpected! That was so beautiful to watch thank you
@Zzider . i dont even remember haha
So happy to see how you give these beautiful birds a great life! All birds deserve the Right to fly. This was also a beautiful location, I’m sure the birds had fun! 💜
Truly beautiful, it's so awesome to watch these feathered dinosaurs take flight. That level 5 is scary, if they get tired they can't climb in order to get back to you. Amazing
This is so great like they are probably having so much fun my only concern would be if they didn’t come back but you guys have such great bonds with them
This is one of the coolest videos I've ever seen!! I had an orange wing Amazon parrot when I was younger that we saved from an abusive owner. Poor guy was so scared of humans, I tried so hard to get him to open up to me but he wouod still bite me 85% of the time, even after years of trust building. It was sad, but I fell in love with exotic birds. I can't wait to get another when I feel like I can take care of him properly. RIP Cromwell :)
I could never. I'm getting so anxious just watching.
