We are a military family and have lived in various locations, and I have spent the last 9 years in San Francisco. I have never felt this way about a place before-I genuinely love it here. Colorado has everything I grew up with in San Francisco and I thoroughly enjoy the vibrant culture it offers here. The roads, compared to Dellas, are beyond relief, drive in Dallas is insane. Some of the potholes can be dangerous I agree. There is an abundance of activities to engage in, and the food scene is truly amazing. I can only envision this city growing even more in the future. But you know what really sealed the deal for me? It was the school system. My kids are excelling here, and for that reason, I am reluctant to uproot our lives once again. In fact, I'm considering making Colorado my forever home….and I NEVER EVER in my mind said that in any other state…..something to thing about
I've lived out here for 2 years now. I'm from Louisiana. I do miss home but it is very beautiful here. When I look at the mountains I always say wow so beautiful. Looks like a painting. The snow is not as bad as I thought it would be. I try to stay inside if I can help it. The sun is so much worse out here than in Louisiana. Yes, it's hotter in Louisiana but I got sunburn for the first time out here in Colorado Springs. The sun feels like it's right next to you out here. It's more expensive out here but the pay is far better out here as well. In Louisiana, the most I made was $9.50 an hour. Here, the least I've made is $20.00 hourly. I was hesitant to make the move from Louisiana to Colorado but I'm glad I did.
i'm from florida and considering moving to colorado springs since ive spent a lot of time in CO and loved it, but the home prices are expensive for what you get....florida is pretty expensive itself but still cheaper than CO so if i sell my house i'll be downgrading...but I guess that's the price you pay for the natural beauty. it really is one of the most beautiful in the country in terms of natural setting.
😂I'm grew up in PHX. The sun shines at night here. Everyone gets their own little sun that sits on your shoulder and cooks your Cerebrum. I feel like I live in a convection oven stuck on self clean. If Springs were a snow globe. PHX would be a light bulb. One more, PHX isn't actually a valley.... it's a fkn hole. I'm considering Colorado so I'm looking, thanks for the info.
Last year we had about 22 inches of snowfall in Colorado Springs throughout the winter season. That's more than we usually get! In town the main roads are regularly plowed but a lot of neighborhood roads are not. However, we get so much sunshine here that it usually melts off within a couple days! The sale of recreational marijuana is not permitted in the city of Colorado Springs, so you'll see significantly less of it than in Denver. It's still around some, just not quite as much. Our crime rate has actually gone down by about 16% since 2016.
Honestly that’s everywhere though. Being in the military I’ve visited a lot of different states, and it’s all the same type of people driving tbh. Honestly jersey is the most “stable” driving. Everyone drives fast and crazy so you know what to expect, versus in nc, Florida, cali, etc. you won’t be expecting a crazy driver because the majority are calm
@@thatdudeinblackshoes Like those children chasing a ball out into the streets. We all probably knew at least one childhood friend growing up, who lost a sibling who did that.
Colorado Springs doesn't have a culture...if you go to Denver or Pueblo, you know you are in Colorado. If it weren't for those mountains you might as well be in Kansas or Iowa
Most cities get progressively worse as they grow, slowly stripping man of his relationship with nature. The springs has been able to mostly avoid this trend because of its far from average natural surroundings. However, it is now clearly becoming a mini Denver with all the insane progressive baggage that comes with it, (i,e, marijuana and drug use everywhere, followed by the spread mental illness and homelessness, followed by woke transgenderism and people dying their hair poisonous colors, followed by rising property taxes with deteriorating public schools and infrastructure)😂
Sad. All reasons why I’m choosing not to go back there. They just had a drag queen 12 year old boy dancing sexually for a group of progressives in manitou springs… had so much fun when I lived there as a few years ago when I was single. But I cannot in good conscious bring my two babies there. Californians ruined this place.
@@Nobodyishom3 You didn’t need to prove me correct, but you did…. I’ll sell you my overvalued house for $700k and you can turn it into a drug den and lead a life of arrested development and underachievement beneath your human potential.
Haha, I moved here around the same time (early August). I don't like it either but for me it's only cause I lived in the mountains my whole life, so it naturally feels like a downgrade.
I lived there for 4 months (work related). If you focus on the beautiful weather, nature and outdoor activities and only interact with the people when it's extremely necessary, it's great.

Thanks guys! Speaking of snow-how many inches are we talking and are the roads plowed regularly? And what’s the drug scene since it’s legal? Crime?

Gas is $6 here in California and it’s like $2,000 for a tiny Studio apartment. Sooooooooo

Any good property sales links for Colorado Springs? I'm Irish, living in Spain but I am interested in properties in Colorado.. Any recommendations?

Psycho drivers running over pedestrians...is a con.
Ain't that true! There are so many bad drivers in the Springs.

Only for ignorant pedestrians who test drivers by crossing without looking

Is having a slank represent you in the US House of Representatives: pro or con?
Keep it lame & that will help slow the growth!

Colorado springs just as much culture and identity as Denver and Pueblo is just a sleepy little Pueblo lol

Yikes at this take. Gain some perspective.
Cringe post.
As a Transgender, weed smoking, mental illnesses collector, Im moving here because of this comment. Love when my presence pisses people off.😂

Corny dudes.
Who are you?
I moved here 6 weeks ago and that’s 6 weeks too long. Hate it a ton
sorry to hear that man! But I know it can't be for everybody. What are you disliking so far??
