I'm impressed the main character's weapon is always on the left arm, regardless if he is facing right or left. Most games back then just mirrored the sprites, which would change the side of the arm when changing direction.
@@daviddavidson6156 Yeah, precisely. I was gonna comment that. +David Richard It was...at least in Europe. The system was much more successful there compared to America and Japan. Japan stopped supporting it by the end of the '80s, and American support ended in 1992, but Europe got games until the mid-'90s due to the fact that Nintendo didn't focus on Europe as much and Virgin Mastertronic effectively advertised the system as a strong alternative to the 8-bit micros (ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad, etc). and sold millions of systems across the continent as a result. Even in 1993, more people had a Master System than a Mega Drive at that point. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_System#Launch en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_System#Transition_to_Sega_Genesis_and_decline
Ryuma King Ah, yes. Brazil. Not only did Brazil get versions of the system that the rest of the world did not, but Game Gear games were ported to Master System over there...and there were some new ones too, even after support in Europe ended. A Master System version of Mortal Kombat 3 was released in Brazil, believe it or not.
If Nintendo hadn't released the NES, would Sega have released the Master System? If so, would Nintendo makes games for it and would the system be as big a hit as the NES.
Brasilball 's Um, Sega worked on consoles waaay before they made the Master System. Don't you know about SG-1000? Or SG-2000? They would have made it anyway; they could even become stronger just because they had no competition. What's arguable is that they may have stayed in Japan instead of expanding their horizons, though.
@@Burn_Angel They would've expanded, they already did when the SG-1000 II was released in New Zealand and the SC-3000 was released in Europe. Expanding from there was a logical step. Without Nintendo obviously the developers/publishers weren't shackled down to just releasing games for Nintendo, thus the entire video game market probably would've been better. Atari 7800 with support from other companies? PC Engine with proper third party support? Of course also the Master System (imagine Castlevania on the MS) If anything, Nintendo was one of the worst things that could've happened to the world of video games. From their insane censorship to their forced exclusive contracts to them throwing hissy fits about 'violent games' (They were behind the whole Night Trap nonsense in the US) and them comparing importing games to piracy (they introduced region locks) as well as them trying to make modding illegaly (when they galoob over the game genie citing that nobody has the right to alter the game codes) all they ever did was a whole lot of negative bullshit. I can't even think of a single positive thing Nintendo actually accomplished.
@@melaniel.4269 "Oh, but they had Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, those really good games that no one outside of Japan bought at that time! Those that got released on the PSX some years later!" is what I'd expect as a response to that. Also, I'd like to add that the next year after the Night Trap case, Nintendo had both Doom and Mortal Kombat II on Snes. As for the SG consoles, I'm not really sure that'd have worked that great. I mean, MSX computers werfe released in Europe at the time, yet they weren't that much of a deal after their time. Another thing is that Sega was really strong at console promotion, but that was impulsed by competing with Nintendo, so maybe they wouldn't have been as strong. But again, if not by competing with Nintendo, they wouldn't have the need to rush their consoles either, so that's up for debate.
Pretty bad port. The enemy spawning seems to be based on keeping the enemy count to 3 and spawning randomly, rather than having set spawns like every other version. It's rather shoddily programmed for both a Master System and a SEGA game, and it makes this game hard for all the wrong reasons

this is because the master system can't actually mirror/flip sprites. so you might as well redraw them.
