What he really did not do is describe exactly WHY the doorman is a poor choice and a non performance intake. When ford redesigned the 4.6L and came out with PI heads cams and Intake the PI intake has larger runners. Dorman had already made the 4.6L replacement manifold and instead of redesigning a new PI intake for the PI engines they kept the same NPI restrictive runners from the original design and just changed the last 2-3 inches where it bolts to the heads with the newer PI design. so when you buy a doorman PI intake for your PI application you are simply getting a NPI intake that bolts up. Avoid this turd even if given to you the dyno clearly shows that it is a poor alternative.

Ford hands down...
Ok but Ford isn’t really selling the good one anymore, so really what’s the next option for us? My intake is jacked up, and I refuse to use the dorman
Same
Now I can tell the difference pi have deeper runners
Anyone able to find the Ford ones? All places out of stock
VJ - Ford's supplier for this intake is having some issues getting certain material to make the intakes. We have some more intakes on the way. It's a first come first serve basis, so sign up for in stock alerts via the product pages. I'll provide the links to both Ford intakes. Please let me know if you have any questions. -Landan

Summit racing has it
I am going to take my dorman intake manifold off and give it to the thrift store and buy a new intake manifold pi from ford or LMR or America muscle
That doorman intake is nothing but a check engine light po 300 with 301
All I took away from this video is that we need to save the disappointment and just swap a 7.3 Godzilla and forget about the 4.6.
in my opinion both are garbage plastic or composite material that crack, i bought a new ford racing one, it only lasted me 5 years before cracking. now i'm thinking about just throwing a cheap dorman one on, at least i can buy 3 of them for the same price that the ford racing costs in todays post-covid parts shortage world. i see these dormans go for a 100 or so on fb marketplace
They made too many, maybe that's why..lol
And here we are in 2024. Cant even get the Ford OE intake. Just the garbage Dorman one. Not sure why Dorman would make it that way
god dam dorman.
Well it's all installed my car has never ran so well .Its silent at an idle .Pulls like landin says .Thanks Glad I got one .none left now .
When the nipple for the heater core broke on my stock manifold.I went to Ford and bought a brand new Ford Racing manifold never run that crap dorman it doesn't run right with it 23hp lose no thank you. These cars already make low hp to begin why run garbage..
Get a Typhoon and it will last forever
Both junk
I'M JUST WONDERING HOW ANYBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER USE A DORMAN PART FOR ANYTHING ON THE VEHICLE. NOTHING BUT STRAIGHT TRASH EVERYTHING THAT COMPANY SELLS
