The dealership found my 2019 Giulia to have a coolant leak, said it was the turbo coolant lines O ring. They want 7 hours labor to do this job, totaling almost $1300 usd. I look forward to using this video and doing it myself. Many thanks to you!
Thanks for the video, the forums would have you believe you need to take more parts off, but the 4 heat shield bolts and the nut that holds the oil feed & coolant feed in place, plus the oxygen sensor and the clip for the turbo stepper motor, are all you need to remove. The stud can be left in place and everything else as there is enough flex in the pipes and heat shield to do the needed work.
Killing that background music and maybe including some narration about what you are doing would be more appropriate. You are providing training and education to your audience keep this in mind for your future productions. Don't believe me. Cut a second version killing all the music an provide an informational narration over the video and you will see your viewership increase.
Sweet video; we can see what you are doing ! Thank you for the coolant o-ring part numbers. Seems like a wise thing to replace the top OIL o-ring while it is apart. Do you have a part number for that ? Gotta do the Stelvio. Good job; just a really nicely done operation and video.
Thanks for the part numbers and the video. We are a two day round trip from a dealer. Even with the Mopar Extended Warranty, its almost a $1,000 to visit dealer (hotels, lost time from work, etc). So my plan was to make the trek for major catastrophic work only (oil pump, full radiator, software, etc.). The Alfa's are fun, but much more micro and "foreign" (mind the pun) than the Corvette's, Camaro's, and trucks of my past.@@Cityboymotorsport
@@WaterBums-rx4ok no definitely, they’re a you know if you know type of thing , not mainstream but at same time still more of “just a car” like fiat but not like the other Italians
Can you make a video on how to remove that top piece of heat shielding? I'm trying to replace the coolant manifold on my 2.0 and I can't get that piece out of the way
Hey sorry I didn’t, but take the car for a ride , after while running crack the bleeder and it will lightly bubble, when it comes out smooth close it up, I did do this more than once
Hello, can you do a vedio on water pump replacement. The coolant level in Top left reservoir at 51,000 miles seems to have gone down to a line below min. Repair shop quoted 1800$ for water pump replacement! Would appreciate your take
my car spits oil from the oil line attached to the turbo (visibly confirmed) but I have noticed coolant tank low plus dried coolant stains around the engine bay and my A/C stops working when the car gets too hot.
BTW thank you so much for this video you really do not know how many hours I have spent looking for "how to videos" for this car (hundreds of hours) and reading threads.@@Cityboymotorsport
My wife's giulia just had this exact same issue. In our case I haven't pulled shielding off to fully verify, but I can see oil dripping from the top side of turbo down to the charge pipe and burning off. What caused it seems to be the plastic bleeder that is attached to the top coolant line from this video broke and came out of the tube. That caused the radiator fluid to spit all over the front of the engine bay and likely overheat the turbo marginally and warp the oil line o-rings. That's my current theory, I'm waiting on parts ordered to come in.

Anyone have any other tips to remove the coolant lines? Tried the screwdriver like in the video and I can get them to turn back and forth but they won’t budge when trying to pull off.
Is there any other coolant line to the turbo? I can see without removing anything a metal line that goes from the ground up to the bottom of the turbo and it looks like it goes on the passenger side of the turbo. And I can see dried coolant on the line. Not sure if that’s one of these two lines or if there is a third. It’s a 18 2.0
It definitely makes the car noisy and mine makes a similar noise, if it’s abnormal sound I would go over all the clamps and fittings make sure hoses are on correctly
@@Cityboymotorsport checked all hoses at least in the upper side of engine hood and found nothing wrong. Car runs ok, no loss of power, no error in ecu. Only this whistle that is very annoying
@@adrianantonello7951 not specifically besides removing the top oil line, I think you can remove the bottom without removing the turbo, pretty straight forward just need some finesse
I have a slow coolant leak on the side coolant revisor your working on next to turbo it’s leaking under the car someone said intercooler but I’m pretty sure that located in the front of the car and my friends said change the o rings all around there’s three that go under the turbo ? Down to engine area
It’s a very slow leak but it’s there and when I drive I smell coolant under the black cover under the car when you remove it to do oil change you can see all coolant turbo was replaced a few thousand miles ago I’m thinking the o rings were not
Taking a look at the intercooler system and radiator isn’t a bad idea but the coolant bottles are known to crack and yea that’s most likely the case the o rings get almost flat after time, look for any dried runs or gummed up coolant(from the heat ) around the pipes going into the turbo
@@ctsmusic135 it sounds like an head gasket issue, they are almost separate systems the front tank is for the turbo, what does your oil look like if you look in the filler cap
The oil in the filler cap looks perfect, smells normal/healthy - so that is what is confusing. Perhaps the higher oil pressure in that area of the gasket pushes oil in the coolant, but not vice versa. I will drain the oil and do a compression test to investigate further. Ordered a backup enginejust in case - thankfully they are fairly affordable.@@Cityboymotorsport
