New era , young hungry manager , despite relegation there is a feelgood factor at the club , it feels like a fresh start . In a silly way it feels somehow better that we are starting in this division rather than the championship ! This time the “ Re-birth “ feels right ! Come on Blues KRO

Good appointment, hopefully we’ll look at younger players from within our system and also from down the leagues that we can build up to better players.
Good mix in the transfer strategy is the best thing moving forward IMO

Even if we started with last seasons team, we will still have about 60-70% possession in this league, especially at home. Its a perfect time to blood a new system. Let's just hope this guy is the one and he's strong enough to rebuild us. It's a tough league, we will need a tough mentality

Generally speaking if a “big” club has bad run and gets relegated they very likely should be switching to a more attacking style football.
It will be very interesting to see what happens…. Rotherham are planting their flag with the sheet number of signings completed so far…

I think it’s going to be an interesting season don’t forget to mention we also need a goal keeper as well for the start of next season. Ps I’ll be down the stadium Friday for my blues season ticket. That’s my commitment to the new manager/club.

Just finished listening to Chris Davies first interview as manager and I have to say I was impressed with what he had to say. His pedigree and philosophy of possession based attacking football are just what we wanted to hear. I'm really glad that the owners have learned from their big mistake and not gone for another 'name'. I can't wait to see who he brings in and I got the impression that if he thinks that any of the players already here did not show 100% commitment they would be gone. KRO

Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for taking the time to create the content. Think majority of fans are happy that it’s someone new and fresh and exactly what we need rather then the same old names. I saw some fans say get in Warnock or Bruce but that would have been disastrous in my opinion. I hope fans give the manager time if things don’t go well. I remember in 06/07 when we got promoted back to the prem after being relegated and there was a sticky patch in the season, there always is. We just have to trust the process, back the owners, manager and players and hopefully in the next couple of seasons we can be challenging at the right end of the championship. KRO

I’m very pleased that the club opted to appoint a young dynamic manager in Chris Davies which is exactly the fresh approach we needed. It will be interesting to see what loans he attracts. He has contacts and his style of play will be attractive to some Prem clubs who want their lads to get game time

It is a risk ,however he,s no fool worked under good managers ,should have some pulling power for loans and some good young buys , I'm sure he will be strong enough to get a grip of the fancy pants players who didn't graft and put a shift in in , first couple of signings will show our direction

Only time I enjoyed going and felt good about going and we just know we was going to win was when we had fossell and Joe Hart in goals 13:35

Joe Edwards was working under jose aswel, and it didn't work out. Our players were having their own meetings without Joe Edwards, that poor man management, but let see how your manager gets on. I be watching, lol

I really do enjoy your content and you may be able to help me with an idea . . . In the same way the club retired Jude’s shirt, I think as fans we should retire all references to SOTV, never liked it except for the 2 times a year we should be playing them. Best thing about the Hawai Five O games in the prem was the way their fans and media did not factor in the fan factor

@@SmallHeathAllianceFC Agreed, but it’s a shame, as we all know and fans of the ‘other team’ and day to day all get along. I started going to matches in 1979 and from memory you only heard it when we played them or when TV cameras were at the ground along with our thoughts on Gary Newbon! Not acknowledging them until we play them again would wind them up in the same way the high pitched chant of their name always raises a smile.
Maybe I am more hopeful, maybe with him working at Tottenham, son, could and tell pek to stay and work with chris

The appointment of Chris Davies has taken us all surprise, which speaks volumes in terms of the club learning from the circus and disaster of the Rooney appointment. The lack of significant media coverage is a good thing as this decision is a proper football decision and not a showbiz appointment (no disrespect to Rooney. That's a lie 🤣🤣).
I look forward to hearing from Chris Davies himself. I'm excited to hear what he has to say and I have the feeling that he will have the walk to go along with his talk on the basis of what I've heard and read. Of course, there's always an element of risk, but I feel that the potential rewards far weigh the risks of giving him his first number 1 job.
I think he fits the blueprint of who we are and what we want to be and this is a relationship that can grow together.
I'm interested to see who he would like to keep and who he's happy to move on and, of course, who he brings in.
Player recruitment is going to be so important as you highlighted in this and previous podcasts, there's going to be a fine balance between the philosophy and what needs to be done to get us out of League One ASAP. And I think the loan market is something that will be well used to get the immediate job done and sign some of the players that we want and need as part of the way Chris Davies will want to play.
I do want to see us as a club that continues to give youth a chance as the players that we have brought through have often served us well and there's something extra special about seeing one of our own step up and do well in the first team.
I couldn't be more pleased that we have gone with a young and hungry manager and not just a name or one of the managers that's off the managerial merry-go-round. Breath of fresh air appointment, that we all need to get behind.
Credit where credit is due Wagner and Cook have got it so right with this appointment. Thank you for learning from your mistakes and also listening to the fans in terms of what we're about and the type of manager that we like, although, I would be amazed if any Blues fan would've predicated Chris Davies.

You just get the impression that they do not want to make the same mistakes as last season and that the club is being run in a professional way which has been missing for so long.

@SmallHeathAllianceFC I think Blues were run since Wagner and Cook have been involved. It's a bit like me when tidying up at home..... in the first instance I make more mess but when the job is done, it looks great!! 🤣🤣 let's hope that there's no more mess.
They definitely made a massive mess of last season, but now Wagner gets football, and Cook has re-found his Blues roots. The appointment of Cook is both a brilliant football and business decision. The perfect combination.

Hopefully this will be the right appointment..but as an Assistant there will be some hesitancy? Mark venus for eg. We are not far off where we were with Eustace in terms of a manager who was wanting time to develop a team but this guy does have a clean sheet, some money and alot of baggage off loaded AND a full pre-season. We could do an Ipswich IF( we )CD gets the right players i and can blend them with the young talent we already have. We will need some hard players esp in midfield , we need some leadership on the pitch .'At the end of the road' it depends on results. KRO

Couple of other positive points, i don't see any risk in this appointment at all. Reason because this is league 1 and at this level you can win games or get a result even if having a bad game by grinding one out, keeping a clean sheet or on individual player talent alone. If this was the prem or high lvl championship team then yea there is a risk because expectation is high and competition is more fierce. The other interesting thing about Davies that no one mentions is his links to the 3 big teams Leicester, Spurs and Liverpool he will have some strong contacts there. He will also have relations with some of those marginal players in the prem but would be amazing at league 1 or he knows a diamond in the rough there that just hasn't had a chance to play. He makes a call and maybe a few little known players signings from these teams or their U-21 teams. Failure to get some huge signings i do also see some amazing loan options in Jan...This can be brilliant.

As with many others, get rid of the players we don’t need, blood some of the youngsters, buy a bit of experience to get us out of this league, but most importantly we need to get off to a winning start!! KRO
Thank you for your comment. I'm pretty certain we will see a number of the contracted players moved on as Chris and the recruitment team try to shape the squad an build a 'Championship ready' team. I also think we will be more game time for some of our youngster as Chris is know for developing youth players. KRO
Glad we went away from the usual suspects and started to look at a progressive coach. I was hoping it would be Des Buckingham, but I'm very happy with the selection of Chris Davies. I would like Ashley Cole as his assistant, that hopefully should keep him at the Blues for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, this is an interesting point. I love Juke and he is pure blues, in and out and I noticed in the CD interview he spoke about the "DNA" of the club so who knows what the future holds for Juke.
He is also a great option to have from the bench sometimes, especially in those frustrating games when really physical defenders are present and we can't break them down he gives us that aerial threat. Great point, thank you.

Another example of Blues building for the future. A novice manager may turn out to be a great manager but an experienced manager won't unless he's Guardiola or similar. We can't afford Guardiola, so why not take a punt? At the very least we have a manager who knows how to coach players, has been successful in his field, and is desperate to make a name for himself.

Hi Gentlemen, I am still sceptical 😮it won’t be easy . We don’t really what to hang about in this quite frankly a poor league devoid of technical play .
We should be capable of getting out of the 3rd Division at first time of asking. KRO..
