I didn't put many on my list this year as my shelves are overflowing. I got The Nightengale, 84 Charing Cross Road, an interactive Anne of Green Gables and then one of my niece's favorite books: the Channeler's Daughter by Valdois (it has a dragon on the front, which is why I mention it). Happy reading in 2025
I had books on my Christmas list but my boyfriend said I had a lot on my shelves I have not read yet so no books this year!!! That’s OK, I’m trying to cut my spending so the books I wanted for Christmas I’ll borrow from the library….. our library bookclub read We Begin at the End and I LOVED that book, great ending- so now I want yo read his new one that you loved!!!! All in due time!!!
What a fantastic Christmas book haul! Happy New Year, Sarah! My husband bought me Challenger by Adam Higginbotham and Worst Case Scenario by T.J. Newman for Christmas.
I got 8 books for Christmas. Regretting you by Colleen Hoover, 2 James Patterson, the new Nora Roberts, the new Nicholas Sparks, Blue hour by Paula Hawkins, the new Janet Evanovich and part 1 of chers memoir.
Dolores Claiborne is an amazing story - and I read the book many years ago but the plot has stayed with me. I read both We Begin at the End and All the Colours of the Dark last year - both were 5 star reads for me. No physical books this year for Christmas - but I did get some gift cards which I am now itching to use!!
We Begin at the End was my first Chris Whitaker, the writing was so good and I still think of Duchess to this day as one of my favorite fictional characters (i read it in 2021). I posted a photo on my instagram with my review and he commented on it and was so kind. When I heard about All the colors of the dark I immediately preordered it and it was my favorite book of 2024! I will read anything he writes now lol.
I loved Dolores Claiborne. Really good. I also purchased Tall Oakes for myself because I was intrigued. I don’t usually get books for Christmas because I have too many. I only got one Harvest Home by Thomas Tryon.
I got B&N gift cards, three Lucy Score books, the new one by Nicholas Sparks, and The Last one at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak. I used one of my gift cards to buy All the Colors of the Dark.
The Safekeep was very good - I hope you enjoy it too 😊 some of my bookish friends sent me books for Christmas which was lovely 😊 if you’re interested in getting into more literary fiction this year I would definitely suggest following the Women’s Prize for Fiction - the longlist comes out at the start of March - there are usually some great reads on that list.
My daughters bought me an Advent Book Calendar. 12 books, one for every month. I am opening as I hit the months, not opening them all at once. So I only know the first book - January which is Icebreaker.
