    Thanks for watching! There really is far more that you can do to repair leather than commonly thought. If you have a rip, tear, cat scratches, colour loss, scuffs, scratches or fading, the chances are you can repair it. You just need the right products and a bit of effort!

    That's one heck of a job, if you just showed the seat first then you showed the scuff / tear mark I doubt I'd ever notice where it was.
    Just incase, where can you buy leather touch up kits from in the UK please?

    Wrinkles can be reduced with a good clean - often it just natural creases being held open by dirt. So when you clean out the dirt, you remove the wrinkles.

      Hi,
      Our products have been used to repair, restore and maintain leather car interiors (and any other leather item!) for almost 10 years. Professionals and public alike use our products to achieve the results that you see, we not only promote our own examples, but those of our customers also, it really is a fairly easy process to achieve professional quality repairs!
      We would never produce a video that had been altered to make it appear like the results achieved are better than they actually were. We are not that kind of company and we simply have no reason to do so, the results speak for themselves. If you have an issue with your leather interior, give the products a try and follow the steps shown, you will be pleasantly surprised!
      Hope this helps.
      The Customer Care Team,
      Furniture Clinic.

      Thanks for the compliment! The repairs that can be achieved can often hide damage to the point where it is almost perfectly matched to the surrounding area.Let us know if you need any help, advice or information regarding caring for or repairing leather, we are always happy to help!

    Anything for a brown polyester fabric couch? I got this $1000 recliner couch from Costco a few days ago that my cat is already starting to frigging scratch. I guess the material can withstand pets more than leather and maybe even regular fabric, but it's going to look like crap in a year at this pace. We ordered covers to try, but more damage is done daily while we wait. Would be great if I can find something for it.

    Its delicate work and will take a bit of time, but you can do this using our Fabricolour product and a fine paintbrush. Just add the colourant as if you were painting it in very thin coats directly on to the stitching. Take care to remove any unwanted Fabricolour from the steering wheel around the stitching. Good luck!

    Hi
    The kit in this video is the Leather Touch Up Kit and can be found in the Leather Repair section of our website, accessed from the left hand nav bar. The kit will cover an area around 10cm x 10cm in size. If your steering wheel has damage amounting to this then the Touch Up Kit will be ideal.
    For larger areas, I’d recommend the Leather Colourant Kit, this can be found on the Leather Dyes& Restoration section of our site.

  • @FurnitureClinic
    @FurnitureClinic  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi,
    The repaired area will react to wear & tear in the same way that the other leather does. It is the same type of colour being applied to the leather that is applied in the tannery. Once dried the colour will not come off onto your clothes.
    If the leather is cracked you need to fill the cracks first and then apply the colour. We do the Heavy Filler for areas that aren't flexed much or for small cracking or the flexifil for heavy use areas (e.g. seat base) or for areas of extensive cracking

    Just curious, if the leather you're repairing has a slight texture and sanding removes it and makes it smooth, won't it stand out? Or is there somewhere in the process where the texture is added to the sanded spot?

    • @FurnitureClinic
      @FurnitureClinic  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi,
      Indeed, with many items this is not an issue, but in in some cases, sanding a leather that has a grain pattern to it can cause it to look flat. in order to combat this, before applying the Colourant and Finish to the item, you can use a grain pad (our two part grain copier system can be used to produce this) to imprint a natural grain pattern into the filler before it has fully cured. Or alternatively, it can be recreated using a product we offer called Grain Repair (can be more time consuming and relies on the skill and the eye of the user, but can get some great results also).
      In some cases it is even possible to blend the area with the rest of the leather by massaging, scrunching and flexing the area once it has had time to fully cure. Our products are water based, flexible and have been designed to withstand this kind of action. This often puts enough of the natural pattern back into the leather to blend it with the surrounding area, but will not recreate the grain in the way that the two products mentioned will.
      Hope this helps,
      Kind Regards,
      The Customer Care Team,
      Furniture Clinic Limited.

    Amazing! It actually looks better than the rest of the leather. Btw is there any way to reduce the look of wrinkles in leather seats and to maybe make the leather feel softer?

    • @em4703
      @em4703 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If your car is relatively recent (2000s and sooner), the leather is most likely painted in aniline, which seals it off and creates something like a plastic seal (yes, this also makes the leather maintenance free, as its non-porous so all you got to do is just keep it clean), so you can make the leather softer and "grippier" with lye by removing that aniline coat and exposing just the leather and its dye.
      But beware, it will also take some of the coloring off and if you're not careful it can reveal the brownish leather color underneath. I did this to my driver seat on my 2008 E-Class as it was too slippery when breaking or taking sharp turns. I used some household lye spray on the leather, leave it on for 30 seconds, then wipe and wipe with a microfiber cloth with lots of water and rinse and repeat to get it all out, then dry well. Don't panic if you see tinny colored bits getting scrubbed off, that's the aniline superficial layer. The paint layer will be tinner and the leather will feel softer but also substantially more grippy. Its definitely a better driving experience, even if its a bit harder to get out of the car lol.
