This wasn't exactly what I was looking for but that was absolutely impressive. I know its 10 years old but I hope you have pride in yourself like you do in your work.
This was an unbelievable video. So well spoken; clear and to the point. Can't really get over how you actually cut your own couch for the demo but when you REALLY know what you're doing.. Super fantastic. A++++ The internet/youtube needs more how-tos like this!
This video is one of the best i saw so far, no fake repair , very simple, well explained and demonstrated. No super crazy video tech and special effect. Thank-you. I hope today you are doing fine in this coronavirus crisis , please stay safe.
Couldn’t find the bottle of Rub and Restore anywhere. I’ve wasted so much time looking for this product and then finally found their website only to not find the bottle she’s using. This is a small business trying to sell a kit. If a single bottle of black run and Restore exists, I’d buy it. Instead, I’ve wasted a load of time because she wasn’t honest in the video about the product.
Just ripped our leather sofa moving it and now I have to tell my wife. She will be heart sick and I already am till I watched your video. Sincerely, thank you so very much.
Wow! Great video. This realllllly works. I had a 3 inch rip with some jagged edges...not as clean as the one here. The substrate is key. I started to get kit on Amazon without substrate until I found this vid. Using denim patch as recommended here adds another level of foundation since there is an adhesive on the back of the patch ( you won't be using it, but it def adds to firmness of fabric). Wish I could post before & after pictures pictures. This saved my couch! thanks!
By far, the easiest and best explained tutorial of all in this category. I watched the top 8 of these type repairs, and some of the rest are ok, but this is top. In the video, she didn't name the Super Glue brand, but I think it was Loctite Super Gel Glue, which I have used before and is a great product to complement the Loctite Vinyl, Fabric, and Plastic Glue.
I’m so excited to try this! I’ve been looking for some way to fix my leather chair that a well meaning friend tore a pretty significant hole in helping me move last year. I’m a single mom so I tend to diy all my stuff but this one was stumping me so it’s just had a blanket thrown over it lol. I can’t wait to fix it! Thank you so much for a fix that looks like I can do easily!
I love instructional videos that show "real" things, like mistakes and flaws I learned much more from this than from "see, everything is perfect and it is so easy (not)"
I use the same technique but instead of a toothpick I use a popsicle stick for the glue. You can trim them down if they are too wide. Less messy than a toothpick. I still can't believe she sliced the sofa just to show the repair technique!
She did get the sofa from the local dump so she's already saved it from the landfill... At least it's served another purpose to educate all of us before the end. *shrug*
Was a bit freaked out by that initial cut, haha (maybe the shock value is part of the point?) but in any case, thanks for the very clear explanations and tips. Came across this video when this quarantine gave me too much time to look at our leather couch, whose tears my roommate had covered with duct tape. I found the same glue at a local Ace and so far have at least got all the tears patched with denim scraps. Still need to do the filling and coloring steps as seen in your other video, but at least it definitely already looks much better than the duct tape "fix". Thanks.
Thank You very much, this is an awesome instructional video. The guys here watching the video were very impressed with your technical detail and know how!! 10/10
That was great! My son brought home a new black and white leather couch this evening and had to wrestle it up two flights of stairs to his apartment. He ended up with two very small tears in the black leather (on the back side) along with some scratches. What's best to use to cover up the scratches? Thanks.
wow.. thats a great vid.. thanks for sharing your experties. how about a video showing how to repair 3 seater recliner sofa foam, my sofa has one of the side gone flat and has no access to the foam as all stitched up... no zip etc
Brilliant - thanks so much for sharing. My son has more of a hole in his couch and I'm looking to find ways to repair it. Think I need a patch of some kind.
Thank you, I will do, if I get stuck. I'm from UK Oswestry www.shimro.co.uk my website. I only use it to share where I grew up in wales and presently live now, it's not a business site.
I used the glue from a puncture repair kit. The man from the cobblers said it is the best glue for leather. I've not done the next stage with the super glue as its aged leather and looks natural as is.
I don’t know if you will get the notification for this or how active you are on here but I bought my leather couch from Craigslist and it’s really nice, it just has little tiny spots where the leather has chipped. Very small spots all over the couch. I was wondering how to fix it? Can I just paint over
I have two kittens. They are very active and like to climb and run along my leather furniture. So now I have all these little tiny scratches and pin holes. How do you think I can go about repairing those?
I´m looking to repair my ownr car seat that has a tear and I´ve been watching youtube videos and the methods change quite a bit from transparent sealant to glue to leather fillers etc, I´m thinking of using a mix of stuff I´ve seen and I´m thinking doing it almost like in this video but instead of filling with glue I´ll be using a leather filler, for people commenting on the glue, any torsion resistent glue that works with leather will do according to my youtube research
How do you recommend getting wrinkles out of the leather. The back of my couch is very soft and wrinkly. I wasn't sure if it just needs new stuffing or I can get those wrinkles out some way.
I'm trying to fix a tiny puncture on the arm of my sofa. One of my dogs nails punctured it. I don't have those materials in my home so I'm going to try the clear caulk I have. It's acrylic, latex plus silicone & it very flexible. It has strong multi surface adhesion & is water proof, heat & cold resistant. I'll let you know how that turns out. Thanks for the ideas.
👍great video. Daughters ex-boyfriend slashed her new couch and chairs and there not leather they are cloth. I'm going to attempt to repair them. I had no idea where to start, thank you! This video was very helpful!
My daughter received an expensive pair of leather boots from her aunt for Christmas and the back seam has ripped. Will the processed utilized in this video repair the seam on her boots?
The first thing I did as you tear the chair, was to dislike the video but at the end of the video I wish I could do more than just liking the video.... Wooow thank you madam
Not a horrible DIY, the color is what most people have a problem with. Custom matches are expensive so if you can't mix colors, forget about this and get a pro. Look online for a match but if you don't have EVERY SINGLE primary color it is not going to be perfect. Nice job though homegirl for a DIY not bad.
I buy a light sheepish and a dark one. Find a patch on the couch that you can't see and experiment. Alternatively if no spare patch do it on a bit of newspaper! Got my sage green couch mauled by my siamese cat looking good again
There are sandable flexible CA or "super" glues. I don't like the Loctite at all. I would use liquid stitch. There are also air-cure flexible sandable compounds that are easy to find for leather filling on the top surface.
Hello , good job on fixing this couch.is this couch color the camel light tan , I'm thinking I have the same color couch , so just trying to get the right repair kit ????? thanks so much !!!!!!!
Screens are deceiving. This is actually our Walnut brown color, many shades darker than a Tan. If you email a picture of your entire couch taken in natural light along with your mailing address to info@rubnrestore.com, we can suggest a color and mail you free swatches.
This is really cool. Thank you for sharing this. I will let my landlord know about your product, so his couches can look renewed. He's just about given up on them.
I know this is old but I'm hoping you still receive my question.....I have a l-shaped couch and the stitching is coming undone where people sit the most and need to repair it asap...I've seen that need to use a curved needle but I want it to look like it did before it came undone, the stiches underneath if that makes sense. Have any suggestions? Also on top where the dogs are deciding to jump off it looks like the leather is starting to peel in places, is there a way to fix that? Thank you hopefully I hear back from you.
Hi, can you please tell me if I can use the same technique for a peeling vinyl sofa? it does not have a tear the color its peeling off. Thanks in advance.
My kitten used his sharp little claws to make tiny holes in my leather couch. I think it would look OK if I could just clue the tiny flaps back in place. Would super glue to the trick?
Does it matter if you put the “plastic” side or the “cloth” side of the patch against the leather when you insert it through the tear? I couldn’t quite tell in the video?
Would a method like this work for claw marks in a wallet? My cat somehow got to my wallet, and he decided the leather felt good on his claws, so now it's got several tiny holes and a few tears and bumps and whatnot all along the spine. This seems more like it's for large singular tears on large objects.

I literally screamed “nooo” when you cut into your couch. That’s the kind of self confidence I want some day.
Lol right
Me too!!! 😱😱😱
This woman cut her leather couch to show how to repair it. Who could possibly click dislike to that!?!
Isnˋt her sofa😂
My jaw literally dropped at the beginning. Then again at the end. Nicely done!!!
This wasn't exactly what I was looking for but that was absolutely impressive. I know its 10 years old but I hope you have pride in yourself like you do in your work.
What a great video! I didn't see such a realistic and convincing instructional video in TH-cam all these years.
Thank you for sacrificing your couch in the name of knowledge.

Her presentation is perfect, her great looks makes it even better.

Some good ideas for the tiny hole I have in my leather car seat. This was one of the better videos on seat repairs. Thanks for posting it.
My heart literally jumped out of my mouth when I saw that woman cut into her couch😲

Maybe cut the back of the sofa next time. Hopefully there is no next time.
She did get the sofa from the local dump so she's already saved it from the landfill... At least it's served another purpose to educate all of us before the end. *shrug*
Thank you so much, just finished moving and caused some damage to our couch. Almost paid someone, dodged that bullet.
This was great. I needed feedback for cat scratches on multiple areas of my large sectional sofa. Thank you very much.
Was a bit freaked out by that initial cut, haha (maybe the shock value is part of the point?) but in any case, thanks for the very clear explanations and tips. You are good Lesandra. Informative, fast, to the point and lovely presentation. Thx
That almost made me sick seeing her cut into that beautiful sofa, lol! Great tutorial--thanks!
Thank You very much, this is an awesome instructional video. The guys here watching the video were very impressed with your technical detail and know how!! 10/10
Super job! Super Glue is great and nice and brittle too
As soon as you looked at the camera and cut the leather.... I instantly feel IN LOVE.....
She is so attractive

I love this! I know yow cut your couch to show us how to repair cuts, it was shocking and hilarious! I smiled through the entire video. Thumbs up!
"We need a tear. (Cuts)" ARE YOU INSANE. AHHHHHHHH
omg haha I lost my shit too
msrdo20 my heart :)
She could have made the tear in an inconspicuous area! duuuuuh!
Omg for real, I was screaming!
I actually screamed out loud noooooooo
This is pretty awesome. Seriously. I appreciate this, it looked like it was magic or something. I thought there was no going back once leather tore.
Good technique. Thank you.
Amazing tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
Tremendous! worked like a charm. THANKS!
this makes me wonder, how many holes that sofa has
That's quite amazing never thought you could fix that now I will do same on my classic car as it has a tear in it. Thank you so much. X.

Wow that's pretty good!!
I'm gunna try this method tomorrow on my couch, my cat's been using it as target practice for years....
Then you need to use your cat as target practice. End the problem
OUTSTANDING video. Thank you!
Excellent creativity and believe many will come up ideas based on this
Great Video. Thanks
Thanks for the great informative video. You just saved me hundreds
Thanks for sharing. Although it was not necessary to purposely cut ur couch!
Seeing her cut a perfectly fine couch for a tutorial video, hurt a little bit.
Beautiful woman with beautiful work.
Great thanks. 👍👍👍

Thank you i have learnt to do perfect the sofa holes thank you😀
That’s great! Love your tutorial too!!!! 🎚🙏🏼❤️
I need to repair a minor tear-just like this one-on a vinyl chair. What is the best type of patch I should use??
Pretty impressive. Curious, how would one repair something at the inseam?
Looks easy enough
best ever explanation.
Very well done video - clear, concise and helpful!
I have two kittens. They are very active and like to climb and run along my leather furniture. So now I have all these little tiny scratches and pin holes. How do you think I can go about repairing those?

👍great video. Daughters ex-boyfriend slashed her new couch and chairs and there not leather they are cloth. I'm going to attempt to repair them. I had no idea where to start, thank you! This video was very helpful!
I worked inside a laboratory and you use phrases like lab personnel. Nice!
My daughter received an expensive pair of leather boots from her aunt for Christmas and the back seam has ripped. Will the processed utilized in this video repair the seam on her boots?
I'll try using the repair method you mentioned. They were a gift and we don't have the receipt. Thanks for responding.
The first thing I did as you tear the chair, was to dislike the video but at the end of the video I wish I could do more than just liking the video.... Wooow thank you madam

Very clever. Thankyou!
are there any added steps if the cut is right at a seam?
That’s a nice sofa!!!!!
If my vinyl is torn but not all the way through, do I cut it to stick patch in?
I know this is old but I'm hoping you still receive my question.....I have a l-shaped couch and the stitching is coming undone where people sit the most and need to repair it asap...I've seen that need to use a curved needle but I want it to look like it did before it came undone, the stiches underneath if that makes sense. What do you do to fix a larger round tear?
buy a new sofa
Hi, can you please tell me if I can use the same technique for a peeling vinyl sofa? it does not have a tear the color its peeling off.

I had a heart attack when I saw you cut the sofa 😂

Great video....very informative. to the point. finished look was great too.
Where do you buy the product, and how do you match colors?
Thank God I found this. I have a pair of leather leg warmers with horrendous cat scratches on them from when my cat attacked me. Problem solved!
Very good

Beautiful. Couch repair, too.
I have a large area to fill what do you recommend I use instead of superglue?
Super glue use to become a hard mass after cured.
I recomend to get some leather repair filler that stay soft and flexible.
Do those fillers stay flexible,? I have a cut center bottom cushion. Uggh.
It also melts the foam underneath
I have a tear similar to that in my in the top middle of my 2014 subaru outback passenger seat will this method work?
