They got arrested in the US for this performance back then. They stopped touring the US for 10 years. 2010 they came back and sold out the Madison Square garden in 30 minutes.

I remember seeing some concert footage of "Bück dich" where either Richard or Paul (can't remember which one) casually strolls over while Till is doing his spraying-thing (it's hard liquor btw), bends down in mid-walk, takes a big sip like it is the most normal thing in the world and then keeps on walking like nothing had happened, not missing a single note. I had to pause the video because I was laughing so hard^^ Edit: Till and Flake got arrested somewhere in 1998 or 1999 when they performed this in the US and had to spend the rest of the night in prison.

Try "Sonne" official video or live in Paris, it´s got a hell of a riff, "Wollt ihr das Bett in flammen sehen" live in Paris or "Engel" live from Madison Square Garden. The lyrics are mainly ‘bend over, I don’t care about your face’ and I think you can see this whole performance as sort of mocking or at least pointing out the bizarreness of this type of sex and how bad sometimes the ‘slave’ is treated (although sometimes the slave likes it that way) They just like to shock to get a message across. Till also brought some sm slave completely in leather on a leash to an interview or press conference or something. He is just really weird and funny that way 😉

Btw this aint "rare footage" because Rammstein was a supporting act on KoRn's Family Values tours which had released multiple video releases of the tours and like a mini behind the scenes and some live show footage. This was a regular act during those touring years. Like 98-99
Barely 3/4 of a million people have seen this particular copy of the Berlin performance of Buck Dich.

Lmaoo this was great! Rammstein continues to be an absolute live bomb. Their 2019 stadium tour shows are even crazier cause they upgraded their stage to be *gigantic* with a huge tower, and they pretty much doubled the amount of fire too. There aren't any professional recordings of it yet, but Rammstein live @ Luzhniki stadium by Radlight is a pretty solid video of one of their 2019 concerts. You can check out their new song 'Puppe' or the older 'Rammstein' from that vid! Both songs are sick and the pyro for 'Rammstein' is absolutely insane. Amazing video!

I think if you really like Rammstein you should read the lyrics to get full enjoyment because many of their songs are multilayered and have deeper meaning than what you might think. Easy to find English translations online.
You're right, to a point. I do not speak German to any - even the lowest - level, but I've been researching, and, as in not unusual, there are subtleties and slang used in the lyrics, which, if you are not a born speaker of German, you're never gonna get. The fact that they are, despite that, a worldwide phenomenon, is pretty remarkable!
