The song is called "I hurt you".
Till sings all the time about how he wants to hurt others in a horrible way (barbed wire in the urinary canal, etc.).
But the twist comes at the end. He sings everything into a mirror ("I see your face in the mirror. I love you, because you don't love me"). That means the song was never about harming others, is about selfharm and SM.
People who want to get relief through pain and end up feeling like kind of reborn. And that's exactly what happens here in the show. Flake the pianist goes into the tub with a black Coat (Aggressively against Till) , suffers pain and comes out again in a glitter suit (reliefed) like a new man.
yeah, many people misunderstand the meaning of this song.

Among other things, because of this song, the "Liebe ist für alle da (Love is for everyone)" album was indexed in Germany and was not allowed to be sold to under 18 year olds and also not be advertised. Rammstein sued against this censorship of their art and was proven right.
That was part. But mostly due to the music video of Pu$$y.

Rammstein has the best shows. I think no one should miss them. When they came to Argentina I was 8 months pregnant and I couldn't go but now they are doing a world tour and I hope to see them. It's one of my favorite bands.

Their lyrics almost always have a deeper meaning and it's worth taking a closer look at the lyrics. There is always enough space in the lyrics for an individual interpretation!
1. You need English subtitles, Rammstein always have many layers and interpretation. Educated Marine and Büchstabu has good ones.
2. This song is about self-harm.
3. Sonne is not for a kickboxer, it is for multiple world champion heavyweight boxer Vitali Klitschko. Who is also a Ph.D., Ukrainian politician who opposed Yanukovitch, and is now mayor of Kyiv. Certified badarse. His brother, also multiple times world champion heavyweight, is at the front with the national guard. Both could easily have gone to Germany and live in wealth, but they chose to fight for their country.

In these days Rammstein is the best live band on earth by fare and the greatest show on the road. The unfortunate thing, however, is that Rammstein will probably be retiring soon

Greetings and Love from Germany again 💚. Great reaction as always. When Rammstein startet in the early nineties, (they are from East Germany), their Englisch was very bad. They love to sing in german language. And they always walk against the System. So most every Band sings in englisch. And Rammstein thought 'Nö, we don't. We're different. Well, in the way you were talking and joking bout don't understanding the german lyrics, it sounds like you think their lyrics aren't that important. If you think so, thats a big mistake. Actualy alot of young fans, especialy the americans, have learned the german language, serious. To get the meaning of the song, and to be able to sing along. The best way to get the whole expirience of Rammstein is to see them live and to know the lyrics of every song. I know, alot of reacters hates to translate or do a little research. And many of them regrets it afterwards. You see, Rammstein is really different. See, i don't wanna tell you what to do, no way...thats all my personal opinions, based on my expirience.
So however, i'm sure you're find out wich is the right way for yourself. And i'm so excited to go with you on your 'Rammstein Journey'. Just like i'm a part of your 'Nightwish Journey' since the very first beginning. You're just amazing, my friends. And i wish you and all of us a hopeful, peaceful and healthy happy new year. In general i love Fireworks and Pyrotechnik, but at a safe place. And please not to celebrate new years eve and not in public places, not on the streets, not in the city. Not because of me, no, but because of the animals, in first place. I get sick when i think of all those poor animals who will die this weekend. (like every year) But also to save money and for the save of our nature (..and your healthness) also. Before i changed my mind (and becomming a puppies daddy) i wasted a huge amount of money for fireworks on 'Silvester'. Every year, since than, i now give away that money. A lot of people believe that this is about a sadomasochistic relationship and he is the one inflicting the pain, but When he sings
"Ich seh’ im Spiegel dein Gesicht" " I see your face in the mirror"
hints that the person he’s singing about is actually himself. I believe that the song is instead about self-harm and the pain and pleasure associated with it.
Hello. You mentioned not being able to easily find some of these band's cds in stores...True. CD store here Orlando, Florida atleast has a few Nightwish and Epica cds. I actually ordered some Sabaton Cds from the band's website because the store didnt have any. Only took about a week to receive them from Europe.

- they grew all up in the former east soviet communist part of germany
- father of Till Lindemann (Singer and Lyrics) was a Writer of Books die children
- Till and Flake (keyboard) wrote a Coupé of books too. Till is a poet who writes poems, Flake writes his experiences and thoughs about the world in a very funny way
- Songwriting mastermind is Richard Kruspe.
- But they worked always as a unit. Every dissicion Hand to have a majority. No one should have had a „leading Position“.
- the reason hey a became a huge Fan right from the start in 1995, where not the music, not the show, not the style. Ist were the lyrics. Because of this very dark and sinster but also satire poetry. With twists and different layers. There is no song which does not have a deeper meaning. But Not beeing said by pointing to the Core of the message. Till tells his messages in a very subtile way and moreover uses very often a very old german wording which were used 100 and more years ago. Like in the old german fairy tales of Gebrüder Grimm (i.e.Hänsel and Gretel,..)
- everything is done on purpose. Eben the music fits their lyrics. I.e. their Song pussy musicaly eben for Rammstein very simple. But they said ist fits to the lyrics. And there they sing about sex tourism from the standpoint of the Sex tourist. Simple music, simple way of articulation of a simple minded Person with low Level of civilisation.

Background and composition
The song is inspired by the case of Armin Meiwes and Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes. In March 2001, in Rotenburg an der Fulda, the two men aged in their 40s met each other, cut off and cooked Brandes' penis and consumed it together. Afterwards, Meiwes killed Brandes - with Brandes' permission - and ate his remains. As a result, Meiwes was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail for manslaughter, but was later charged with murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. According to bassist Oliver "Ollie" Riedel, the song came about after "one of our members brought a newspaper to rehearsal and it had a story about the cannibal guy in it. We were fascinated, shocked and amused at the same time". Vocalist Till Lindemann stated, "It is so sick that it becomes fascinating and there just has to be a song about it".[2] A prominent phrase in the song is "... denn du bist, was du isst, und ihr wisst, was es ist" ("Because you are what you eat, and you (pl.) know what it is").

You guys have just started 😂🤣so much more amazing live shows, Du hast live in Paris is actually a must, stadium tour live, as well, so many live shows and then, you haven't even seen their videos, "Deutschland" , "Zeit" are just master pieces, i think you need to make more time for Rammstein as you haven't seen nothing yet and to top it off, the songs are from the last 4 years or from 27years, they deliver seems 27years, made in Germany 😜

I worked the west coast US gigs for the band's 1st 3 US tours, and I knew Christophe the drummer b4 I knew he was in a band. You'll eventually see video from those early shows...you'll have questions. Esp the early stuff, I'll tell you all about it
