A very keen eyed & eared viewer, who also happens to be a very knowledgeable 80 series owner, brought a mistake to my attention. At around 5:30 onwards in the video, I mentioned extending the bump stops to limit both up-travel/compression and down-travel/droop of the shocks. I understand the damage that can be caused when the bump stops are not set correctly to limit compression, and the shock is then "the bump stop" causing premature wear, damage & failure of the shocks. I DID NOT realise the shock is fine to limit down-travel/droop for off-road situations, barring big jumps and off-road racing etc. This applies in particular to the rear that has much more articulation than the front due to it's 5 link design, where the shock is the first and main limiting factor of down-travel/droop. We live, we learn. Very grateful to have experienced individuals share their insight within this community👌🙌 I don't like to spread misinformation, so I thought I would clear this up.
Some serious flex in the 80 now, nice setup! Send me those compression dimensions and I'll help you with some custom brackets to maximise the up-travel without risking the shocks
