Kashmir!! The name evokes so many emotions. The name itself is sheer poetry.
Kashmir is a land of enigma, there's so much already documented about it, yet there's so much more to be discovered.
It's a journey of a lifetime.
And I am here to partake in its bliss and carry a small slice of this heaven in my heart.
I am headed towards Tarsar Marsar, two sister alpine lakes, cozily tucked in the misty mountains near the Dachigam National Park.
Tarsar - (Tar) The one that sustains (Sar) Lake
Marsar - (Mar) The one that obliterates (Sar) Lake
This video will document the 1st day of the trek, the wonders we witness, the blessings of nature and the many challenges that lay ahead.
Day 1 of the trek can be really challenging. The body is still trying to adapt, acclimatize, the feet trying to get used to the terrain, the back carrying a heavy backpack and it can get exhausting pretty fast.
But, you know what keeps you going.
The sense of adventure, the postcard sceneries.
Just like how life is. It will seem difficult sometimes, and you will slip, falter and feel like giving up. But it's important to keep going, even if it's slow, even if it's just one step at a time, because when you take a break and look back, you will be proud of the ground you have covered, the mountains you have moved!!

Yes you can but since it's a multi day trek (if you go all the way till Tarsar Marsar lakes), you will need to carry all essentials.
If you want to go on short day hikes from Aru valley, there are many smaller ones that you can do. Hope this helps.
