Part 1 of my celebration of Sly Cooper's 20th anniversary! This video came as a idea very late, so it's not perfect.. audio balance might be a bit off. Hopefully you like it anyway!
Excellent stuff. Something I was curious of, but couldn't compare myself as I don't have a ps2 anymore. I currently have my ps3 and Sly trilogy collection disc at my feet, and I'm in the process of finally getting a screen to use them with! Been some 10 years since I last could play my favourite trilogy, so the timing could not be more appropriate. Happy 20yrs Sly folk!
As someone with no nostalgia, I prefer the ps3 music. A lot of the ps2 themes sound dated (from like 80s-90s). The ps3 music sounds more epic and timeless
I’ll admit, I knew of Sly Cooper of when I was a kid but it wasn’t until that I got a PS3 that I played the HD Trilogy. Plus I just seem to like the HD remixes of Sly 1’s OST better then the original.
Hopefully when they give the OG trilogy the Crash & Spyro treatment they’ll be able to remake the tracks as well, maybe make the Murray racing Minigames stand out instead of sharing Muggshot’s theme..
Sly Trilogy on PS3 has : - Bad widescreen implementation - inconsistent soundtrack (not that bad alone but really bad in comparison to PS2) - New bugs - Some censorship But - Hi-quality textures
Another sad thing is that the special commentary that’s available after completing a level’s time trial on Sly 1 isn’t in the HD Trilogy either. Other than that & the other stuff, I don’t mind - I love the HD Trilogy as it was of my first games on the PS3.
All they had to do was make a wide screen version of the game and leave everything else the same. The PS2 color grading and music are leagues above the PS3 version.
I haven't played the PS3 version but I was *cringing* through the first three PS3 versions. Just... I don't have the courage to hear the rest yet, they got rid of all the great stuff!
Thank goodness for the new emulated ports for the PS4 & 5 so I can enjoy the original soundtrack.

They should’ve left the soundtrack for the first game alone. It’s a good thing the original is now more accessible than the remaster.
I love this! Though I can’t help but feel a video like this should have chapters displayed for each track & variation.
Done!
@@CooperCurse They aren't showing up on my end.
This vid definitely needs chapters
Happy anniversary Sly!!!
I think I personally feel that the PS2 version is more consistent, but the PS3 has some great versions aswell!

I still prefer the original soundtrack and I listening to it while playing the game in my dreams at night.
Even thought that the PS3 have some great version since it has the widescreen, HD, etc.
But i will just stick with the PS2 version.

Out of the sly Cooper games, not including the first three, which one is your favorite?
Hard question! :D
Answer the question
But that...that just leaves 4

If you're referring to the HD collection then you are correct. But the one I played didn't have any of these issues oddly enough
What was censored?
Yeah...

@@gnbmanI only remember one cutscene from Sly 2, in the remaster they cut the last part when they shows The Gang in a Casino

POLICE HQ SNEAKING FOR THE REMASTER WAS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS GOTTEN RIGHT & IT'S NOT EVEN ON THE GAME , SCREW YOU SANZARU

It's inconsistent, some are changed for the worse while others are barely changed at all.
