Watched this game on TV. On the winning TD play the halfback on top of the pile has both arms up, not to signal TD, but to show the refs he wasn't pushing Starr into the endzone which was illegal back then. Apparently it's legal today which is stupid. Makes it look like they're playing rugby.
I watched the game. Famous block on instant replay. As an offensive lineman it brought credit to a "lowly" position. I played sandlot from 1966 to 1972 then the team went semipro. Great game.
I grew up in Cocoa Beach, Fl. in the early 60's as a very young boy and I loved the Green Bay packers, every time we played a sandlot/street game I was Bart Starr or Paul Hornung....when I got to be just a couple years older my Mom bought me Jerry Kramer's book and it was the first book I ever read from cover to cover and believe it or not set me on my way to being a responsible young man and also peaked my interest in academics/reading...Thank you Mr. Kramer and may you RIP (a recently retired Engineer who worked 32 years at America's largest defense contractor.
Ken Bowman jus passed Dec 27 2023.Jerry Kramers block on an ice rink IS without question the greatest block in NFL history.Lonmbardi IS and WAS the greatezt coach in NFL history.5 NFL titles in 9 seasons.Nobody will ever touch that percentage wise! EVER!!
@@headshotsongs9465 Yep. And the ironic thing is that when Robinson made that play that caused the interception in the end zone, he wasn't supposed to be blitzing. He just did it and it worked out.

One other myth was that the Ice Bowl drew, at the time, the largest TV viewing audience in Green Bay history. But in truth, the game was blacked-out on television in Green Bay. Hundreds of thousands of people in Green Bay and vicinity had to listen to the game on radio.
Many, maybe most, don't realize that before the 1973 season, ALL games were blacked out locally. Didn't matter if a sellout well in advance. In fact, even the first 7 Super Bowls were blacked out in the host city.
Bullcrap.. Green Bay had a bunch of older guys on their last leg..the field was Frozen, I'm saw another video where they were trying to sweep the ice off the frozen grass. You could see everyone slipping and sliding,it just went Green Bays way.. I never liked Green Bay then, and It's continued to present day !!
❤ Love you guys!! Best
If the Cowboys had won that game the Reeves to Rentzel halfback pass probably would have gone down as one the most memorable plays of all time.
Green Bay's victory over Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV was their finest hour.
And Jerry Kramer made a error by moving before the ball was snapped that was never called.

The greatest game in football history.
Man these guys are truly giants and legends of pro football!!
Love hearing the recollections of these former players.
I was born in 1980, so these guys were way before my time, but I'd love to just sit with these two great men and just listen to the stories.
Packers beat Cowboys in championship the previous season in Dallas. Ice Bowl and Super Bowl win two weeks later were Packers last hurrah for that era.
Landry was a great coach but he wasn't on Lombardi's level. No one was.

KRAMER was a contractor, or you? And, KRAMER is very much alive.

Grab grab grab everyone's grabbing!
Love you guys!! Go Packers. The Will to Win is everything!!
Dave Robinson and Jerry Kramer.
Team players in the best years, and the worst game conditions. Robinson made a Championship defensive play that put the Pack in Super Bowl 1.

Old school football minus the equipment was superior to todays game much more balanced. Offense benefits from 50 years of rules changes.
Great interview. Would like to have heard all of it.

Packers were best Team ever!!!
What is wrong with the flippin sound? You can hear the breakdick reporter loud and clear, but the two legends not.......typical journalist....

In decent weather, or at least, on a non-frozen field Dallas blows Green Bay out.
Go pack go !!!!
Packers cheated.
How?
No way man, God meant the packers to beat the cowboys, live with it 😂😂😂
@Colt-ii4qn From Lions Country here. I always get a laugh everytime Green Bay beats Dallas.
