@@TubeWatcher No that is not what I meant. I was asking does having like a hard drive with old photos or data and then I add it as extended storage to the ps4 will it format it and delete everything the answer was yes.
It does not need to be, in any case i advise you to use an ssd (it reduces by a ton the load time, check some videos online about hdd vs ssd) but it just cost a little more
