Having seen the film this is the only John Williams theme that makes me tear up. The film was released in 1993 and still I can remember the effect it had on me.

In the excerpt above, we're in Vienna in 2020. John Williams conducts the Vienna Philharmonic in the Golden Hall of the legendary Musikverein! He has accepted an invitation from the musicians of this mythical orchestra to conduct them. The concerts were a huge success, both in performance and on disc. The recordings are available from Deutsch Gramophon.
To answer your question as to what is my favourite John Williams' composition, I just heard it here. This was so achingly beautiful that when she got to her credenza I lost it. That said, I feel blessed to have heard this.
This was played at my grandmother's funeral back in the 90's , i cannot stop crying listening to it this masterpiece.

I feel like the day we lose JW will be as hard-hitting as when we lost Robin Williams, for me anyway. Because they’ve accompanied my life since I was a little kid. Whether it was the Superman, Star Wars or Indiana Jones themes, E.T. Jaws, Schindler’s List or Saving Private Ryan, the list goes on and on. Such an incredible talent and gift to us all.

John Williams has been my favorite composer since I was a little boy. (50 now). There is nothing of his I don’t like, however, his scores to ET, Always, Rosewood, and the Lea’s theme in SW are some of my favorites. You should also check out James Horners stuff. He (RIP) is my second favorite composer. My wife tells me frequently that I need to prepare for the day he passes. It will crush me. He is the only man (other than my father) that I look up to.
Williams preferred Remembrances as the true theme for the film.
