I had a thought about a potential what if. What if Team Rocket used Shadow Pokemon. Ash and Gary get snag machines and have to rescue different pokemon from rocket agents, Jessie james butch and cassidy are the ones ash encounters most, while gary faces off against more elite or high ranking agents. Trainers like AJ and Damian could be tempted by team rocket to get shadow pokemon of their own. As for the purification Gary sends his to oak's lab where there's a machine to purify them while ash can use aura to purify them

3:12 gonna be honest I hope you never use this in future parts the Rocket prize master was a terrible idea for Journeys as it took away the actual bond Team Rocket have with their Pokemon

They catch the Pokemon at base form and train them up that way they don't just have these fully evolved Pokemon for 1 episode then they never show up again
