    When my time comes to leave all behind, among the sweetest farewells will be the one I keep for those keen calls of elation from the first swifts arriving for the summer.

      The swifts are the champions. They're kind enough to let me discover a small part of their space-time so different from ours...

    Thank you for this video! I love these birds and it was wonderful to see them in slow motion. They are so fast that it's difficult to make out what they are doing.

    These were amazing videos. I was reading 'What It's Like to be a Bird' by David Allen Sibley and I came across a couple of pages on the Chimney Swift. I then went to TH-cam to look for videos on these cool birds and I found your video. Thank you for capturing their incredible acrobatic grooming routines in slow motion. I love the 'Grooming by rolls' (6:31).

    I saw this bird whoosh by me and got interested so searched up and it turned put to be a swift. So apparently the world is too slow for these birds. They are on a complete different frequency compared to us.

    • @jean-francois-cornuet
      @jean-francois-cornuet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes Natsu, you're absolutely right. Swifts are above our heads and people often don't see them. We must take the time to look up at the sky and imagine flying with them in a different space-time.

    Just look at how fast they preen themselves. It's only for 1 to 2 seconds

    • @jean-francois-cornuet
      @jean-francois-cornuet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, swifts live in another space-time than ours. Slow motion opens a small window in this one.
