Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Hey I noticed a lot of people commenting on why I'm no longer in these Trailmakers videos. It has nothing to do with ScrapMan I just never had success with Trailmakers videos on my channel so I don't make them anymore. ScrapMan is still one of my best friends!

I'm probably wrong, but I think the big factor in trailmakers destruction is distributing impact stress. Example: Those big shields up front that are attached with 2 suspension pieces, or the side walls that only attach at the middle. When they get hit, they break off entirely at the weakest point. I think even if you built a solid brick it would still break easily though, also it'd drive like a heavy brick. Try a honey comb build? Basically just tons of connection points but with many holes for less weight? I know that can't really be done in the time limit, but it's an idea.
I mean, you really only have to do it once and then just copy it around and hope you win

It’d take a lot of parts, so it isn’t worth it when you have a parts limit
Trailmakers physics doesn't behave quite like real physics, so building a slab (or brick as mentioned) ends in the other people plowing through all the layers at once. Very strange and something they should consider if they do something like this again.

@@jiegao3591 So some kind of honeycomb or pancake layers would be better for nonsensical reasons? Does that extend as far as saying fewer connection points is better than more?

No offense to the guys in the video but this video was just objectively not fun lol. I would rather just watch Scrapman making something. Maybe they all need more time to vibe together but currently it was actually just awkward or they are all too mellow. I’m mellow too, that’s why I don’t try to entertain anyone 😂

I can see Yzuei is a fellow Wedge Gangster in this video. It also feels like it went from RC Battlebots to literal landships, especially with JB's blades at the end looking like oars on a Roman, Greek, or Viking warship.

Nice to see an evolution video again, but would have been nice to see some evolution of the concept. Maybe make the winner of each round switch to the second place vehicle so that there is more variety of builds each round rather than them all looking the same.

Idea: uncontrolled (autonomous) vehicles in the centrifuge
Love the evolution vids! I know I'd love to see an even longer one where you maybe go 10 generations. I also like some of the older/other ones where you would each keep your vehicle and not just take the winner's. Adds more build variety that way
you could do a video where you test what the best blocks for ramming are.
so for example if wedge blocks do more damage or maybe things like rods that are at a distance so you don't get destroyed or possibly a flat block is the best way to go.

* One side has a battleship, the other a tank
* The goal is to destroy the battleship without taking too much time
* The tank can repair but not the battleship
* The prefered weapons should be explosive ones

Scrapman I have an idea for a similar video. We all love the evolution, it's a great theme! Maybe next time do some type of "Gauntlet of Champions" where it's 4 players, 4 rounds, and each round is a new build with the same parameters but it must be fundamentally unique. Then after the 4 rounds, you take the 4 winners for a final round to see the ultimate champion. This way there is a heavy emphasis on creativity as each person needs to come up with 4 unique builds based on what they have learned from the previous round. And if one person wins all the rounds for example, then each player would be set the pilot a build at random. Glory for the designer and for the pilot
my hypothesis is the strength of a connection is determined by the number of connectors. its tempting to create large thin shields but if there is only 2 connection points it will always snap at the weakest point.
Battle idea: battle planes with offcentered thrust. You'll have to either deal with it or balance it out in a weird way.
I think the tie should have been settled with divergent evolution; Scrap and someone else use his vehicle for the next round, Patches and the other person use Patches vehicle for the next round, then play it as usual

Yea, they didn't do anything with collision damage calculations, just weapons damage is calculated in a new way. I hope they work on the collisions in the future.

you should do this in scrap mechanic, once, i invented a car that had suspensions on the front and if it hit on the nose too hard a sensor triggered a gun and it exploded, you should do weak spots on a car and whenever another car hits it , it explodes, or disassembles, or anything
You should try this, but with slow moving planes (probably powered by 1 large propeller). It also doesn't have to be evolution, that might be too difficult lol.
Scrapman is SO SO SO UNDERATED! he has 28 k views in 6 hours, other TH-camrs get like 3 MILLION in ONE HOUR. Scrapman is the best!

a more interesting spin on evolution would be a side grade of 'numbers go up' approach, where instead you can either reduce powercores, increase block count; or start at high block count, increase powercores; OR, and this is a weird one, make more complicated weapons (using moving parts), wheels, rotors, spinners, hingers, the like
It would be fun to have a challange where you all build a plane but the thrust will turn off a certain amount of time and then turning back on, giving you a short pulse of propulsion every so often.
Manhunt style game on one of the campaign maps. One team tries to complete the campaign, the other tries to stop them. You can only use parts as you find them.

I just got an idea, to make it a little more interesting and to keep some genetic diversity; how about if the winner has to evolve the second best vehicle in the next round while everyone else has to evolve the winners vehicle like normal. That way everyone has to improve someone else's vehicle.
Hey scrapman try this with kan and kosmo for a new evolution, Try a new evolution series where instead of when one wins the losers take his vehicle and add on that instead the losers evolve their own vehicles but the winner doesn't and stays with his same vehicle and everyone uses their respective vehicles

Centrifuge Evolution race but there's a catch: You MUST add 2 Wheel Each race. ANY type of wheel.
Multiplayer idea: evolution minecars rules like evolution derby but every round 2 more dynamites are added and you're supposed to take out the opponent through dropping mines, unlimited repairs until damaged.

You should do a combination evolution- make 2 builds for separate rounds and the winners of those rounds get combined and upgraded

I have an idea for a multiplayer monday team battle in the danger zone: base defense Each team has a stationary tower they want to defend from the opposing team's explosive gliders. The gliders can drive like cars and launch themselves off of the ramps in the center of the map or off the catapults scattered throughout. Gliders get unlimited repairs and the aim of the game is to destroy the enemy tower by wearing down its armor and hitting its central tnt. There are a few variations to the game that you can choose from such as if the tower has its own defense turret (and if the turret is autonomous with sensors or manned), and what weapons the gliders have (guns vs bomber vs tnt kamikaze).

What a cool new cast
You should make a video where you do a 1v1 dogfight, race, tank battle, or anything with another creator where you start with a small number of blocks and power cores and it's a best of 3 to win. The catch is, the loser gets to add more power cores and parts to their build (like 2 and 20 or something, whatever works) giving them an advantage in the next round. (inspired by the game Rounds on Steam)

think you should do a few quick succession evolution eps. each time you play against the same group, you learn new things. put those new things to the test, and see what the end ep looks like. and then, do it again in a new game :P

You should do a coop video with one of your trail makers where one person is the engine or rather rocket while the other person is a glider where y’all detach the engine then reconnect it before the glider hits the ground.

MM idea ski slope races using vehicles with low friction blocks.
The slope would have jumps and toggleable trees or random obstacles that have a cool down to interfere with the skier(s).

I'm really surprised they did not use the hull blocks, like come on how can you not use the strongest block in a demolition derby.
Honeycomb hull+4x8s is the strongest type of armor currently existing.
