The reason the T57 was considered OP is because clans would show up with 5-10 of them and just roll up, delete some things, and screw off for a bit while they reloaded....
I remember those days. Back up-heavies in AMX 50-B just jumped over to T57 in one day. Basically we traded a fast accurate paper autoloader to slower, but more responsive, better armored autoloader that could burst in shorter range due it's poorer aim between the shots. Also back then Gold cost actually gold. You had at best 4 shots in a random that you never used and maybe half the ammo for a clan battle. How armored does T57 become when the most dangerous gun in the game back then was BL10 on an obj 704, and what you had to defend against was normal AP from an IS7, Jagdtiger and t54.
Sounds like when the French Sherman FL-10 was released in War Thunder and whole teams were rolling out with autoloaders in a fast(ish) chassis, just roflstomping the enemy teams because the enemy just couldn't kill enough of them before they could wipe out the team with their autoloaders. Didn't take long for folks to figure out that it was insanely vulnerable to airplanes, though, so people would just roll out light tanks and bumrush the french teams hoping to wipe a few out and then they'd just slaughter the entire team of FL-10's from the air instead.
@@Oddball_E8 terrible turret, terrible chassis, if it didn't have the autoloader, it would be an awful tank. The autoloader turns it from trash into exceptional. I personally dislike using it. The hwk cannot outspot the elc on level field. so the way to go about it is sit in a bush and hope the elc drives into view range.
I think you are kinda wrong there. The HWK is pretty stealthy itself so it could have gone down to spot the river easily. If he was to stay there he would have probably outspotted the ELC moving up to spot the base and just sitting there would have made this match a much easier win.
I think you are confusing the HWK 12, Tier 8 Tech tree LT, with the HWK 30, Tier 8 Premium LT. I do think that you are righ on him not outspotting ELC, but I woudn't say the HWK 12 is "more of a medium tank".
Man, that HWK 12 was actually really good that match sans the final confrontation with the ELC, that was reckless. This map is a rough one to spot mid on from that spawn (because retreating back up the hill is difficult especially with an ELC spotting you constantly WITH T-62 backup) and that's even with support. Generally you only push down there if you expect to win the D line and north, and it was pretty clear early on that that wasn't going to happen. Boy had a a K-91, T-44, and a scorpion on the A line that were only focused on supporting the standard B and did not have shots at mid and the only people aiming there was a jagdtiger that got picked in 5 seconds because he was in a bad position with no cover on a ridge alongside God's own personal window cleaner in a ShPTK-TVP. The HWK went to the safest bush with which he could still spot mid from and then repositioned to help with the push up along the A line, then when that went up in smoke he made a retreat to a position where he could help his team as they came back to retake the base, then pushed on that position in the base and played support with side shots on the push the enemy made from mid. He played the game safe as a tank 2 tiers lower and that's fine. Sure he could've been more aggressive and gotten more than he did, but he'd probably 9/10 times just die doing that. This isn't saying he carried the game, that goes to the T57 heavy with a good game in town, but he did a good job as a tier 8 light and pulled his weight more than 2/3 of this team. Setting him up as the one guy on the team seemingly making questionable choices is doing him a disservice.
Apart from the last interaction, the HWK 30 did in fact play well. Against an ELC 90, he would've been dead in the first 1-2 min of the battle if he tried to get a more forward position. He could have moved up in the field in a more frontal bush, but it was a 50-50 if the elc would've spotted him while getting there and 100% to die if he was spotted. The elc was set up properly, so the hwk driver made the right decision. Given the amount of xp he got, he must have had some ok spotting dmg aswell. People raging in chat were idiots not knowing the very big difference in spotting capacity and camo rating between the 2 lights.

hwk is probably the worst T8 LT in the game , against the best in the game elceven 90. other than the play when he died I couldn't be mad too much how he played. had he tried spotting straight off he would have been out lit and died without a doubt lol
Passive scout wise? From what I've seen, the ELC Even 90 is stupid. Like, stupid good, but a meme tank. You can get the camo aspect down to literally automatic spotting range, which is the only way Ace here was even able to spot that Even 90. There's a video that Jingles has that shows off Steven, another WOTtuber a few years ago, back when team killing/damage was a thing, pulling off 'if its stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid' by sitting in a small bush, in front of the whole enemy team, spotting them while capping. I don't know much about the HWK, but it doesn't seem to be that good, but, compared to the Even 90, yeah, it doesn't seem to be good. However, again, stats are only there to give tanks power. It's the players who know the game mechanics and how to use, abuse, and play around the mechanics that can make 'bad tanks' truly shine. Sure, maybe there was a better spot to help his team, but in the end, he made his choices, and it helped gain the team a win, as he kept himself in the game as long as he could. That's honestly the best thing any scout should try to do, is keep themselves alive, as being the eyes and ears of a team, especially towards the end of a match like this can really change the outcome. Overall? He had the eyes of a Hawk in that battle. Is the tank op? is the Even 90 op? FYI, that American flag camo is reserved for vets and active members in the military. Not saying there aren't ways around it so others can get it, but that was it original purpose when released. So Jingles, fellow military person for ya.
havent watched u in ages, good to be back
Thank you Jingles, I am having a good one.
I feel bad for the jagdtiger, why bother relying on armor when you can use gold
I really do hope you're having a great day too Jingles!
Yay jingles vid
30s into the video - "Uhh, he's gonna struggle in this battle..."
Damn, looked like the elc was hiding inside proxy range at the end there!
the last time I remember this map with the T57 was when Jingles showed us Superstar Steve.
That was a really good match to watch
Great start to the day, great end to the battle
No one’s gonna talk about that caliban snap shot???
Only you, but yes, nice one.
Good morning Jingles
Whoo! That was awesome!
It's Memorial Day Weekend in The States, this replay is from a Veteran.
The T69 and stock T54E1 almost made me quit grinding for the T57
I didn't even get to the T54E1 yet as the T69 was complete garbage for me. It has nothing going for it imo. Armor is weak, gun is mediocre, aim time and handling is bad. This thing gets outclassed by every other auto(re)loader at tier 8. Hell, even by most regular tier 8 tanks
@@Moerfel I hated mine. I've got a clanmate who is not afraid to run one in Frontlines.
@@Moerfel Never used the T69 but if it's anything like the IRL T69 then I understand. When they tested the fuckin' thing, components wouldn't stop failing on it and in the end, it was just another lesson-learned by the engineers involved. lol
I don’t think I have ever been this early. I get to be first inline to the salt mines!
Jingles you should take another look at the Tiger II, it's a great tank now.
The travails of playing lights.
Great Vid, Thanks!
That second to the last shot may have bern intentional to grab the faydin's medal
Why does every person in this comment section think you have to get it "legitimately" for it to matter? Like dude what kind of fucking conspiracy level bullshit are you even talking about? WHO CARES?
@@derkaiser9881 what makes you think we care less because of the shot? I said it because jingles said it wad an attempt to kill and its possible it was a shot to get the medal. DON'T BE SO EDGY! You got it all wrong.
It could also be a desperation shot as time is winding down and couldn't outspot the elc.
@@sakamoto8354 definitely could be. I just thought it could be intentional too.
In some parts of the WoT community the proper term is : the 'Steven 90" not "ELC 90". Thanks for the vid
Pro Tip.. it looks like the Vet camo given to folks who confirm they are a American military vet on the NA server.
You knome! or however you spell it. MOAR WARHAMMER!
Great vid
Bounty and bond equipment, large consumables, this isn't his first dance with this tank.
Empirical testing (getting shot at) proves that Tier 10 gold ammo isn't anywhere near expensive enough. Some days it feels like people shooting normal ammo are the exception.
Fun fact, that skin is only available to verified American and Canadian active duty service members and Veterans. Now, it may be cool but the merits of American service members and veterans voluntarily identifying themselves to a (previously) Belarusian company are dubious at best.
To say it with stevens words: You can hide an ELC in the equivalent of a salad. ;-)
First few minutes of the match made me remember when mr crow u know the pro light tank driver (I think mr crow?) was in the EBR 105
great video
Astonished by the places an ELC Even 90 can hide. Unless you've seen 06Wallst play it.
I remember when I got a Fadins medal in my 183. It was a 1 v 1, where, if I missed I lost
Ah yes the HWK and T57, the duality of people who have the veteran badge
Morning Minor Jangles
I hope you're having a good one too bossman
*HWK is not pronounced Hawk, it is an abreviation for a company/factory name and thus each letter is pronounced as a single letter with a dot between (H.W.K) like with MAN (here the dots between the letters got edited out over the years by logo designers. MAN stands for Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg - Mashinefactory Augsburg-Nürnberg)
HWK stands for Henschel&Sohn (Henschel and Son) Werke (works) Kassel (City in central germany)
Jagdpanzer E100 isn't pronounced "Jageru" either, but no-one seems to complain.
@@The_MightyJingles have you heard about the remote code execution vulnerability found I'm wargamings replays yet?
Im very surprised that the raider medal is not considered much more valuable. It takes a lot of luck not to be seen entire game and to be able to cap the enemy base all by yourself. And the game thinks its not big of a deal, but truly it is.
I'm not surprised with where the ELC was hiding after watching Steven from Honest Gaming has hidden his!
A well deserved Fadins.
DAVE...... DAVE HIS NAME IS DAVE!!!!!! Jingles his name is DAVE!!!!!!!
I use to watch all the WOT commentators, like QB, Claus, and several others, But Jingles was the first, and the best, and now days the only one I watch anymore..
Claus is the biggest, well, you know. I find him toxic, not funny.
I know this is an older comment thread, but imo entertainment-wise, Jingles always had them all beat. Like wasn't even close. QB is good for tank stats and such. But Jingles actually makes me smile and laugh. I don't even think I cracked a smile once watching the others. Kind of a shame, really. :/
The same T57 miniature as the glorious Superstar Steve video!!!! 😆....edit: oh boy...and in the same map!!!!
His name or her name is after a flower Jingles its pronounced Lie Lac, with a Hard A Its a small purple flower that blooms in april or early may in Ontario Canada earlier if your are south.
Sometimes playing light is late start or early start depend on the map and how team spreadout early game.
That is how i play years ago
Helluva match
.The HAWK outperformed all of his critics. That is poetic justice if anything is. They can all go stick it, HAWK! Keep learning, and keep doing what you do!
Even 90 can hide in the weakest bushes and you still need to proxy spot him cause you will not see him otherwise.
I saw the thumbnail and went "wait a minute this isn't new" then realized it's not Superstar Steve
Say what you will of Ace's performance big cudos to the Tiger 2 that got 1300 XP AND a kill.
I got a fadins in my lafafafa arty...took every last shot to finally hit the target.
I had a mediocre one, but I'm surviving. Hope you're doing allright, too, Jingles. Thanks for asking.
Sweet
Tiger II is pretty decent nowadays, if it would've been stock like Jingles said, then it would've been terrible. That first Krupp turret is just the worst on every tank that has it.
Why don't players buy equipment when it's half price? I have something like 300 large repair kits in store. Save 10k credits a time.
What if I'm *not* having a good one, Jingles? Hm? What then?
Whacha got for me in that scenario!? D:
Man that dude in chat being toxic is the worst. He says "I'm sick of idiots playing this game bad" or something along those lines. Well I'M sick of putrid toxic players spewing their negativity all over someone in a game.
The Tiger 2 wasn't stock. It just didn't have camo it seems
So world of warships has a vulnerability that allows malicious code to be att hed. Assuming the 3 games Planes tanks and ships use the same replay system. Itmay not be advisable to open replYs at alltill this isfixed.
