This actually isn't what Arabic sounds like. They're speaking Egyptian Arabic which differs greatly in pronounciation, words and structure compared to that of the Qur'an as an example.

I visited Egypt a couple years back and you see his murals and paintings on so many streets, in restaurants and on T-shirts all around. Probably every shop has Liverpool matches on live when Mo plays. A really nice guy, great to see him doing so well

I went to Egypt this summer and I must say, posters of his face is EVERYWHERE. Egyptian people are great tbh
And deservedly so.... Talents of his calibre don't just pop up every day, or year, or even decade. People like him and Messsi are truly outliers. I played soccer as a boy in the late 1970s, when we first arrived in Southern California, where only us Asian and Latino boys played soccer. Black and White kids didn't even know or care about soccer.
When I came across Mo Salah, immediately, I said: there's a truly special soccer player. And, like Messi, it doesn't even matter whether he scores or not... you could just see his true brilliance, once he has the soccer between his legs... Every elite soccer player could make good plays now and then; but the true outliers are those who are able to make every ordinary situation into an extraordinary one, by the magic of his thinking, speed, agility, dribbling and passing ability... He is given the ball as often as he is giving it away to teammates who are in better positions...
Anyway, things have changed, since I was a boy in Southern California, in the late 1970s.
Today, from Southern California through the middle of the country to the East Coast,from the very southern states to the very northern ones, both expensive green grass and poor neighborhoods alike.... soccer fields and soccer boys and girls, from 5 to college ages are literally everywhere. Tens of thousands of small and boy boys and girls are playing soccer.
Americans traditional power house sports like basketball, football, and baseball --- while still more popular --- are relegated to almost entirely high school and college age groups. That means in another 50 - 80 years, America will completely be dominated by soccer, like 99% of the world...
