Thanks for the video and review, great quality as always. I'll add that I designed the game's unique squadron management as part of the game's narrative experience, something that cannot be shown from a single play, I'm glad you addressed that. The pilots are there because they can be promoted, killed etc. and that is tracked in the Mission Log using their (or any) name. I put in a lot of effort on the game board layout and I'm also glad you liked it. The Mission size issue was addressed sometime ago, and it is included in the ver.1.1 of the rulebook available on BGG "Missions vary in target types and are divided into three general size categories; large, medium and small reflected on the Mission/Target counters by the letters L, M, and S respectively." The game was announced late late 2019 before the 'avalanche' of Stuka games started, so although it was not the first one out of the gate, it was my first published title. Sorry it took so long to chime in - All the best and thanks again brother.
Three Stuka games came out at roughly the same time. I chose the LnL one because it felt much different from the usual games in this genre. I liked that it uses cards instead of dice and that there were several theater options, in addition to different aircraft models. DVG's version had too much 'bloat' for me and should have been called Luftwaffe Leader, not Stuka Leader.
I’d play this some, but even on sale, it just feels overpriced for how much I’d actually play. At $45-50, I’d consider it. I am intrigued by it, but Target for Today, Hunters, and American tank are probably enough. I’d definitely pay for a digital download of the pdfs needed to play it on Vassal.
This one feels bland compared to the others like The Hunters/Hunted and that tank one that I forgot the name (old game). They forgot that weather is a double edged sword for airplanes. It makes it harder for your airmen to find and hit their target(s) but it also makes the ennemy harder for them to find your airplanes. I also agree that those pilot tokens are not interesting and just increases the price of the game uselessly. I would have made them a downloadable thing on their website, but not in the game box.

Good video.
I just ordered American Tank Ace because you (and others) always speak of it so highly! 😊
@pauldangel734 good choice!
Good timing Gimpy. I am thinking about getting this.
