At LVL UP EXPO 2023, aMSa went on quite a tear. Let's take a closer look at his ridiculous 4-hit combo against Hax$ that made all of the highlight reels, but was maybe a bit more technical than you might think.

I personally don't know how I couldn't be happy to be combo'd like that. THAT'S how you want to lose, not because you're bad, but because your opponent is sick. That's losing optimally.

ngl just seems like an accident from overcorrection. In the slow mo it looks like he wanted to nair but thought he was too close and might get a reverse hit box and then decided to egg for safety

I love these moments where the opponent smile while fist bumping even tho he lost because the play was insane
Also pretty neat that Hax delayed his Firefox slightly, which allowed aMSa to pass through before the burn hitbox came out -- could've turned into a weird trading bonanza. Great work, as usual! And thanks for the ultra special shoutout balance has been restored to the world

I already thought the combo was insane but learning about the quirks of egg and how amsa had to knowingly drift to send hax a certain direction really just blew my mind haha

Dude, I absolutely love these vids and how you use music despite not even playing the game.
That said, in the egg section (or eggsplanation, if you will), all the examples seemingly made Fox get knocked back the opposite direction of where they got hit. Is it possible to toss an egg to hit behind Fox and still knock him forwards with a direct hit?
Great point! Yeah, if you throw an egg forward at Fox when he’s facing you and hit the back of Fox directly, he’ll still get sent away from Yoshi. Definitely could’ve shown slightly better edge cases there :)
