Oh wow i can't believe i missed this, I was literally about to go down to guitar center and pick one up for shits and giggles but this is absolutely a deal breaker
Those features (gain knob missing) won't make you better. It will make a bad track selection faster if you don't have experience. Also if you prepare ahead of time, the songs will be in your crate and you won't have to do much clicking anyway. I don't understand why people like to comment on products or services not designed for them. This controller has enough on it to rock a party, if you can't do that on more expensive equipment why spend more money?
I love your humor! … this little thing is perfect to play a hybrid DJ live set, every where. Send me a unit … i create a stand for bicycle’s. I like this product. …
@AnthonyThomas-o4l personally it's due to lifelong disability when I festival I don't have your dexterity so been able to set up two and play two all with hot cue will give ME more fluidity to crowd.
I guess they though if they added beat loop to the flx2 there wouldnt be much reason to buy the flx4 but still i think is just a joke that doesn't have it it also you only have 4 performance pads so is not exactly the same. It also only has mid and bass eqs so you really are missing out some of the essentials if you dont get the flx4 basically.
Do you actually need more than four? Even Carlo only has 3 cue points on most of his music. You can rock a party on this, if you can't the problem is YOU not the hardware.
I had a DDJ-200 and used it with a Traktor Audio 2 interface. Glad that this is pretty much combined in one device, now. Still, I do not like the DDJ-200 or DDJ-FLX2 as it forces you to have your hands on the laptop when browsing and loading tracks as well for memory cues. About the lack of trim knobs can be argued, as Rekordbox has auto gain. The DDJ-FLX4 and its predecessor DDJ-400 are hands down the best beginner controllers for Rekordbox. DDJ-200, DDJ-FLX2 are just for those, who can't afford the DDJ-FLX4 or DDJ-400 or want a very portable controller, which fits into a small backpack. The most affordable Rekordbox 7 unlocking controller is a used DDJ-WeGO4. I've seen those listed for as low as $70 on the used market. The DDJ-WeGO4 has proper RCA and headphone jacks as well as a browse knob and a microphone in. Though, it has only a 2 band EQ, which can be remapped into a 3 band EQ when giving up the filter knob. Button wise, the DDJ-FLX2 seems to provide more functionality, but the DDJ-WeGO4 isn't bad, either. Even though it comes with a power adapter, the DDJ-WeGO4 also can run bus powered. For ultra portability, I would love to see an even smaller Rekordbox controller close to a Numark DJ2GO2 or Hercules DJControl Starlight. Some DJs may even be interested in a Rekordbox controller without jog wheels but with lots of features packed in a small interface like the Reloop Mixtour Pro provides.
The DDJ-200 didn't have any indicators either. It's really a basic controller for all intents and purposes, so they had to really make sacrifices with some aspects not used by absolute beginners
Okay, I don't think you got to the end of the video, but I did mention that you're literally only limited by the software. A quick midi mapping, and you've got instant stems buttons as a pad mode. Also, you gotta remember not every DJ uses stems haha
@djcarlo my bro I ordered one haha specifically for music sorting and previewing at home vs studio 🔥 thanks to you! Nah I was saying you sitting on train tracks. 😁
wait a min.. this isn’t dj carlo’s channel!
For now ;)
@@djcarlo oh yeah i forgot you have a partnership/deal with bpm supreme lol
Hey @djcarlo what is this, a crossover episode?
@@NecroPhazon Yup!
Dj carlo. I am a eight year old .do you think its a good controller for me because i like eminem 😂
Nice to see DJ Carlo on BPM Supreme!
Nice to see you here too! Hahaha
Cannot load songs from controller!
For this price, I'd learn how to remap! Though, a lot of DJs also don't load songs from the controller haha
No browse knob/load buttons is the biggest turn off for me bc i don’t wanna look like im tryna email someone when picking out the next song lol
EXACTLY, THAT'S A HUGE TURN OFF, WANTED TO GET IT BUT BECAUSE OF THAT I WONT
Given, I know a lot of DJs as well who don't use them! They don't look like they're typing e-mails when searching as well haha
Oh wow i can't believe i missed this, I was literally about to go down to guitar center and pick one up for shits and giggles but this is absolutely a deal breaker
Great review, was considering starting out with this and this video has convinced me - thanks!
Great way to learn on the cheap. But no track browse buttons and knobs will make it an ergonomic nightmare. FLX4 is what you want to get.
I agree, they've perhaps removed too much and added too many unnecessary features you don't find on bigger equipment
@@theelephantintheroom69 have you seen the original DDJ-200?
for the price, I'll learn how to midi map

It's pretty neat! That's why I like it a lot. Very versatile as a controller!
Where's ur channel carlo? 😁
Missing in out 4 beats or 8 beats Intro loop... Especially dj starters with radio edits will miss that...
Loops and smart fader rocks
A little remapping can solve that, though I'd say loops and radio edits is more than just beginner level!
For everyone, this is not a stolen video so enjoy
Yes. This is not a stolen video!
Recordbox 7 won't run on Windows. Do I need to install the driver?
Will we be able to export the mapping of the ddj-flx2 and import those settings to use on the ddj-200 ?
I'm not 100% sure if it's 1 to 1, but I think you can!
Will you be able to provide the mapping of the ddj-flx2, so I can test it out on the ddj-200?
Is it possible for the DDj 200 to have a shortcut key setup similar to the FLX 2?
does the record function on Rekordbox work with the FLX2?
Of course!
no beatjump?
Nope, but that can be fixed with a little remapping. It can do *anything* any other controller can do with a little midi mapping!
Great information walkthrough 🙏👍 I'm going flx4 to flx10 I think but the flx 2 has it's place.
Indeed it does! Just like how the DDJ 200 had its place
Why do you need 4 channels???? 99% it's two channels and enough experienced and inexperienced DJ's don't do that well enough.
@AnthonyThomas-o4l personally it's due to lifelong disability when I festival I don't have your dexterity so been able to set up two and play two all with hot cue will give ME more fluidity to crowd.

Yo! Can i trouble you to make us a video of 'reliable bags' to carry this along with a laptop and required cables thats also waterproof?
Hi! Is there any chance Alphattheta will released FLX8 in the near future?
Hmmm from what we've seen. I would say. NO. I believe the GRV6 fits the in-between
Looks good 👍🏽
Right? I love the updated design on it!
@@djcarlo For someone like me, it is a excellent product Portability size and functionality.
Hey Carlos love this deck I’m getting it could you say what is up
It is indeed up! Best budget gear of the year!
I feel like an idiot. literally just bought the DDJ-200... basically a day befroe it came out.
damn! Hope you can still return it!
4:56 you must have dropped it in one of the takes 😂😂😂
welcome to Taiwan❤

@AnthonyThomas-o4l sometimes i use 8
OMG !!
beginners rejoice!
The least they could do is give us a track selection piefe
Given the space available, I honestly doubt they found a way to incorporate it. The 200 didn't have one either haha
That’s true, I was thinking they could just add more space to the top but then again that would up production cost.
