After taking a decade-long break from DJ-ing, I’m back at it. I started by showing a friend around DJAY pro on an iPad about 3 months ago. Since then, I’ve acquired a FLX-10 after trying out an RX3 for a couple of weeks. I’m now down with Rekordbox even though I still have my Serato Pro license from years back. If I go pro again, or at least rent out gear, I’ll likely get an AZ as my main controller, but this FLX2 seems perfect for not just my core set up with Rekordbox on a Mac, but to bring back a DJay Pro set up that I have with me at all times. I already like it as a back up on FLX-10 for decks 3 and 4, but FLX-2 coming out with DJay Pro support on day one, speaks to me. I actually didn’t like the integration on FLX4, but on this smaller unit, it makes more sense to dial in crossfader neural fx, etc. Perhaps, supporting the color fx on Rekordbox with just the shift key and a combo isn’t terrible, but a small backpack with an ipad and flx2 is the kind of set up I could see myself with leaving in the car hidden away until needed :)
BTW, don’t sleep on the sampler and sequencer on DJAY Pro. Keep it in time with your main tracks and blending it in and out really gives you that groove circuit feel without any prep work. I’ll need to figure out how to sync tempo between two USB devices, but for now, manually matching BPM ain’t too tough.
Great call out for controllers without a sound card. I'm messing around and was looking at the dj2go2 that has a sound card on it so no need for a splitter
Great for set/track preparation. I’m seriously considering getting one to play with whilst travelling with friends. A quick link up with an iPad and Minirig speaker and it’ll be great for predrinks

Thanks for clarifying that it hardware-unlocks Djay Pro!

Nice review. Direct Music Service is a good record pool I’m in too! 👍👍
I've got the DDJ-400 and a FLX4 as well as a Numark Mixstream Pro Go I'm just considering this as something to conveniently practice with tbh.
Might get this just to have it!🙂
I like the beat of the club beat. Where is that track?
What are the specs for the sound card?
