But the car makes 260 BHP more than the regular ones, and Spa is a track with quite a lot of straight bits, which aren't F1's best area. We're talking 1160Bhp compared to 900 in a regular LMP1. It also has active aero on the new rear wing and the new front diffuser, which are not within the regulation, both in shape and because they're active. Porsche themselves say that the car makes 53% more downforce than the 2017 regular car. I would love to see how fast the lap could be if an F1 team like Mercedes just took one of their 2017 cars and went completely wild with it to make it faster. Tuning the engine to the max instead of restricting it so it lasts 5 races and turning up the downforce to 11. I bet it could be some 6-7 seconds faster than the 2017 cars. Also, looking at the qualification times in Melbourne, Lewis Hamilton was a full second faster than his time in 2017, so at Spa, they're likely going to beat it again.
you can't get 12 second out of the basic lmp1 rule though. I'm just sitting here, waiting for a team to put the halo away, reduce the weight, push the magic button and the boost up and get a hell of a record and the croswn with it
Thanks for driving the XJR9. I absolutely love that car along with the entire list of TWR GTP/Group C big cats. I was lucky enough to see most of those cars race for points and championships at the Camel GT when I was a kid. Those Jags, along with the Nissan GTP and Toyota Eagles started my love for sports car racing. It may not beat the 919 Evo around Spa with speed but it’ll crush that car and any other modern race car with sight and sound...and it’s still fast as hell.

euroaaRON1 - The downforce levels they choose to run doesn't change the fact that Spa has more high speed corners than Bahrain, so extra downforce will have a greater effect on lap times, and downforce increased considerably for 2017. You can see it in the difference in pole times between the two tracks from 2016 to 2017. Even the '17 fastest lap was quicker than the '16 pole at Spa.

Part of the point behind the Gran Turismo/Red Bull X program was that the car could exist in real life, so the Red Bull X2010 is (theoretically) possible in real life, not like the SRT Tomahawk X (also of Gran Turismo fame) which is nowhere near possible in real life.
Why didn’t you use the SF70-H on AC as your 2017 F1 car? Also, for a more realistic challenger, the F2004 probably would have been able to get really close

Also how the SIM handles tyre temperature and grip levels, how it handles the downforce/drag, how it handles the power delivery. Most are very similar, but there are still variations between all of them and you might be able to go faster in another SIM.

I know this is kind of unrelated but you should really take the 919 evo mod onto the old Mulsanne Circuit and try to set a lap record. Would be amazing to see the car going down the Mulsanne Straight without chicanes, and should reach 400kph or more. #Lemans #Neverslowdown

DRS is only usable on the straights, as for the rest of the track you want to have the downforce to keep the car on the road.

Spa is a low downforce track for F1 though, Mercedes ran their flatter looking "monza spoon" rear wing last year at Spa
