    Remarkable! Stunning!
    No one has a tone as beautiful, majestic, with the depth of character as Alan. His ideas and playing is centuries ahead of anyone else still. We've been truly blessed to have experienced his lifetime in our lifetime.

    the last time I listened to this song, he was still alive, and let me tell you, this is a completely different sensation. almost made me cry.

      What Carlos Santana said about him way back in the day just popped into mind; a quote that was printed on Allan's book "Reaching For The Uncommon Chord", "He has something totally beautiful".
      Pretty general compliment, but heartfelt, and it nicely captured the awe that I always felt and still do, about Allan's incomparable combination of genius mind and extraordinary athletic prowess applied in a way he invented for himself to make some of the most compelling music imaginable. His music was the product of an impossibly great talent and generous spirit; a true labor of love of the highest caliber.

    This proves that technical music can also be highly emotional too.

      I hope Allan knew how much he was appreciated. It saddens me when I hear how self critical he was.. he has an unmistakable sound and it has been my pleasure to meet some of his colleagues and people lucky enough to call him a friend. Waxx Traxx to the Maxx / wusb.fm NY

    très rare d'être touché par autant d' étrange beauté: c'est lyrique sans être emphatique ni chouinard, c'est complexe sans être hermétique, le discours (ou le triscours) est attentif et fluide, c'est précieux (my precious). à ranger à côté des plus grands (Bach, Mahler, Coltrane, Ligeti, Berg, etc...)

    1st time I heard this haunting guitar solo break I had to pull my car over. Could not concentrate on driving. Savant level.

    Where did Allan inspiration come from?? The Heavens....maybe. Truly ...the greatest guitarist of all time. I will miss him until the day I die.

    • @Gregorypeckory
      @Gregorypeckory 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah; accept no substitute; it was a once in a lifetime deal, never to be repeated. I'm just glad I was lucky enough to see him many times, and now everyone has incredible access to his work, although it ain't the same as live obviously.

    This tune is a work of art, one of Allan’s best pieces. I just got the Metal Fatigue and All Night Wrong cd’s. Still collecting them, (it ain’t easy to get them here in The Philippines.) Thanks to the uploader!

    Это просто потрясающая музыка!!!
    Как же прекрасно, что есть такие музыканты как Алан на свете!
    Конечно, весь бэнд крайне высокого уровня, один Gary Willis чего только стоит.
    Спасибо большое Papa Dudeness за возможностью ещё раз насладиться настоящим произведением искусства!

    Splendid track. One of his best, and maybe the one I prefer on Hard Hat Area. Such a pity he hasn't released anything new in 10 years or more....

      Samsgarden Thank you Samsgarden. :-) Well, I quite like the synthesizers that Holdsworth used. I'd be interested to hear a version without any, yet why not ?

      Harrison Crutcher Age, ability, creativity , self deprecation?

    • @martymandrell5961
      @martymandrell5961 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Because "ordinary people" do not understand "true creative music". They choose to rely on popular crap that everyone else listens to as if there's no alternative! Music used to be made to uplift and enrich people's lives....... today's music does neither! In fact, it does just the opposite! Allan was basically supported mainly by other guitarists and after his divorce he did not have a lot of money to pursue "his craft" the way he would have liked. He did not have a lot of money when he passed away......... but, all of his fans and followers pitched in and helped his family pay for the cost of his funeral. I wish people would support musicians better in the future!
