I actually have an Ancel DS600 coming soon and you can see how that scanner performs. It's supposed to be much better than the previous Ancel Scanners that I have tested.
Have you had good look with your tool? I am thinking of getting it for my Nissan transmission, but have no idea if it can do it ( after changing the transmission oil Nissan makes you reset a oil deterioration counter)… Any hicks you may have about it? Thanks so much in advance =)
@@Davidorino What Nissan Model r u working on? I tried it with a Nissan Pathfinder and didn't work all the " special" functions , it doesn't even read the VIN number, all u can do is type the Year and model and the only thing you can do with it is reset engine oil change and check engine light
The V6 Pro (the older version) got the lifetime free updates. The newer V6 Pro Plus+ is only getting 2 years of free updates, then you'll pay an annual fee for updates. I just bought the Pro Plus+ and verified this by emailing Ancel.
That is a very recent change because as early as a couple of weeks ago, the Amazon page was still saying Lifetime Free Updates. Thanks for the update! I guess the guys like me that got the old version will continue to get the free updates (I hope) but new buyers wont. I'll post an update if my updates stop at some point so everyone will know.
They have multiple v6 models some offering lifetime updates some not, be sure to go with the v6 pro+ models and read the descriptions if lifetime updates are a requirement for you.
@Bruce chou I like it a lot. I recently was diagnosing a 2014 3.5L Ecoboost and was able to command camshaft offsets and see results, or in this case that one phaser was not moving at all. Overall, my buddy with his $3500 Snap On was using mine and said that from what he can see, mine does what his does plus mine will program key fobs and does it for far less. He was impressed.
It may, but honestly I would recommend the Xtool scanners. They seem to do a lot more. Check out the Automotive Scanners playlist on my channel page and look at the Xtool scanners that I have reviewed and you can select the best one for you. I have tested a few of the Xtools line.
I wish I could help you but I have no control over Ancel. In fact I am in the same situation that you're in. I just checked mine and it says that I have to renew also. What happened was that about a month or so after I posted the video they cancelled the lifetime free updates. Then with the software updates that came later, they eliminated that altogether in the machine. Now, I did see that when you try to update it says that you can downgrade to an older version. That may have some limited updates available or it may be a worse version than what we have now. I didn't do that because I don't want to risk having a worse version than what I currently have. But you can still keep using the scanner and it will remain fully functional, but no more updates. I'm in the same situation as you my friend if that makes you feel any better.
So I just ordered mines this morning. I had the ancel x7 and the VCI went bad only three months of using it I noticed right out of the box the BCI would get hot. There’s no fan to cool down and that’s only after like 5 to 10 minutes of using it. Can you answer a question for me does the VCI get hot on the V6 pro also I noticed the X7 has lifetime updates and on the OBD zone website the V6 pro has only two year updates and one other question what is the difference between the V6 pro and the V6 pro plus
I have not noticed the VCI getting hot on my unit. Also the difference between the Pro and PRO+ is that the Pro has less special functions and probably as few other features are missing.
It is a reset function for resetting the NOX sensor on your vehicle. If your vehicle has a NOX sensor issue, it will tell you and this tool can help you reset it when needed.
My Mustang does not have programmable keys, so it will not work for this Mustang. It will probably work for newer Mustangs that do have programmable key fobs.
I see that to that ford not on there for the key so it will not work for my 2011 ford edge limited 😒 and that it doesn't have free updates the last scanner i look at it was lot of money evry year for the updates

This one the V6 Pro Plus is ten times better than the X7. First of all this is brand new for 2022, the X7 is older. Secondly the X7 only has 10 service resets and 2 years of updates. This V6 Pro Plus as over 25 resets and Lifetime updates. You pay less for the X7 but you get less also. The V6 is running Android 10, the X7 doesn't say what it's running.
It can to some extent. The limits depend on the vehicle that is being worked on. Not all vehicles can do all testing. What do you do with all these products, that you might have double and that do about the same thing? But maybe a little better than others, do you use them all? Or have you thought about a giveaway, that is if you don't mind me asking? Because you had a different scanner that you post on one of your videos, which I bought because I am on a budget and it works fine as I get to use it.
I'm glad to hear that my previous review helped you to select a scanner that works for you. For the time being I hang on to most of the stuff I get because (you wont believe this but) years after I do reviews I get comments asking for help with a problem that a viewer has experienced. I can't very well answer viewers questions if I get rid of the products that I review. So not only do I do new product reviews, but I also hang on to the products to help viewers in the future as they use them. I do use the products also and I can alert people to problems that they may encounter and what products to stay away from. So I may do giveaways in the future but right now I an putting these things to good use.
Key Fobs are considered part of the Security Entry System or Key to the vehicle. So if it says it can program keys for a given model, it also includes Key Fobs. I show in the video the models that it can do.
I have a new scanner that I will be doing a review next week. I just opened it up and checked and it does do programming for Keys & Fobs for all FORD brands world wide, so this may be one that you want to look into. Watch for my review coming up soon. This Scanner also has lifetime updates.

This one also has a bigger screen, built in camera, and wireless Bluetooth connectivity where the Xtool does not. They are BOTH very good tools, don't get me wrong. I would say it depends on what you need from the tool itself for your purposes. That will point you more to one or the other.

Yep, I was just told my unit that came with "lifetime updates" really meant two years of updates. I'll never buy another Ancel/Foxwell product again.
I have a 2012 Ford Taurus Limtied and I'm having trouble trying to program a new Key Fob, I done the update but I'm having trouble.

Hi, as far as I know, this has a service function names NOX set, can you please explain it to me? What exactly does it do? Thank you in advance.
It is a reset function for resetting the NOX sensor on your vehicle. If your vehicle has a NOX sensor issue, it will tell you and this tool can help you reset it when needed.
I noticed Ford immo hot function wasn't available. Will it program keys on that mustang through the main menu so to speak, of the scan tool?
My Mustang does not have programmable keys, so it will not work for this Mustang. It will probably work for newer Mustangs that do have programmable key fobs.

Does it program key fobs ?
