Le bruit généré par son écoulement vient des chocs entre les cailloux du cailloutis qu'elle transporte. Très rapidement, son débit augmente. La hauteur du flux boueux augmente en même temps que le volume des blocs déplacés. Dans une première phase, les blocs rocheux semblent rebondir sur la surface topographique du thalweg, comme ils le feraient en l'absence d'eau. On a donc la superposition d'une coulée de boue liquide et d'une avalanche de blocs rocheux dans le même thalweg. L'accélération gravitaire des blocs et le mouvement inertiel de la matrice sont découplés. C'est leur couplage qui produirait un amas mobile de blocs rocheux encastrés. Puis, pendant quelques minutes, on à l'impression de voir se former un amas mobile de blocs rocheux encastrés. Mais la densité de la matrice boueuse n'est pas suffisante pour exercer une poussée d'ensemble sur la collection mobile de blocs rocheux. Si bien qu'il ne peut y avoir d'encastrement mutuel dynamique entre eux. En outre, au lieu où il se formerai, il ne pourrait que se disloquer dans le lit mineur du Rhône tout proche. A la fin de la vidéo, on voit plusieurs bouffées, mais elles ne concerne que des flux d'eau boueuse qui déblaie des sédiments de boue dense (et sableuse) déposés au plancher du thalweg.

No it is not a controlled flow. The waves are common in mudflows due to the viscosity of the fluid and his Density. This was the answer of the aventurers who filmed the mudflow of 2010 flash flood in Markha Valley, Jammu&Cachemir, India : th-cam.com/video/gE3SA76oTcE/w-d-xo.html . My answer is that it is the breathing of the earth...
@@pierre-emmanuelzufferey1470 Hydrodynamics. The bottom layer of the water/debris has more friction between it and the ground, thus it slows down. The upper layers of water don't have as much friction so it moves faster than the natural flow rate. The water behind it can't keep up, so a gap develops and a new "wave" forms from the next bit of water, thus if forms a wave cycle with the friction. It happens in clear, clean water also. Check out "Oroville Dam spillway get wet after a two-year hiatus". Same wave pattern develops. At some point though, if more water is added, it over comes the wave/friction cycle and it becomes a continuous flow, just like the river it flows into. Yes, WAY overly simplified, but that's what I was taught. (LOVE these videos.)
Also, these mudflows are results of torrential rains, thunderstorms. So: Storm over, flow stops, stream goes back to a trickle, clearing out the fine debris between the large boulders.
