i was also lucky enough to be born in oxford, I used to do atheletics for oxford back in the day, running on the track that roger bannister broke the 4 minute mile, ifley road oxford
A one hour drive south from Gloucester, near the town of Chippenham, is the village of Lacock. The Abbey there was Hogwarts for the first two movies. It was the dark arts classroom and Snape’s potions classroom. It was also where Harry's parents lived and was also the village of Budleigh Babberton.
I absolutely ADORE the way you say flood! ☺ You say it with the same double-o sound as in 'food'. Yet you pronounce 'blood' the same way we do. Which, ironically, has the same double-o sound that we use for 'flood' 😅 But please, don't ever change this!
We actually do appreciate the place too aside from the movie! It simply wasn’t recorded as the Vlog was purely about Harry Potter, but wherever we go we admire it’s beauty and history 💛
What month did you go? I haven’t figured out what month i want to visit… summer is to hot so the weather when you were there looked really good so was just curious
I`m much more a "The Lord of The Rings" fan than I am `Harry Potter.` Mainly on the grounds that The Lord of The Rings is a far superior account of the unreal. If I had enough time left I`d start again with "The Silmarillion" ( `hard to believe that it is superior to TLoTR`s, but written by the same author and giving rise to The Lord of The Rings ) skip `The Hobit,` and go on once more to read "The Lord of The Rings."

Oh we’re sure you’re even better than Roger Bannister! 😉
What is super amazing is that the fantastical rooms in the movies are not movie sets they actually exist

So Good
Well I'm happy for your happiness..it will be great when you are able to recognise the greatness of a place aside from it's connection to any movie.

Edward II is one of the few monarchs buried outside London and the only one in the south west of England, IIRC.
In my day Pevsner not Potter was the stimulus.
