Same as it was my dad who discovered them years ago and of course that means i liked them as well. I lost my dad in January this year... nothing has been the same...but "this" is another lil something that keeps us connected in spirit! ❤
Just sat here on third listen, covered in goosebumps. I'm nearly 41 and this is like walking home with Morning Glory at 16, that very same excitement, that feeling that I get to play this to a 2 year old all night and all day tomorrow and the day after that. The effects and drums on this are utterly savage. Welcome back men, this shit year just got that little bit better. Love it. Aidan, Dublin
i'm 51... Saw them a multitude of times at small new york clubs like irving plaza...starting with the Lost Souls album... just a brilliant band! Actually my favorite of that era.
I like how his voice has aged. I remeber in 2009 when I was about 16 years old, I got my first ipod and 'Kingdom of Rust' was one of the first records I got on it. Now I am 27, and Doves are once again back in my life. Missed this band so much. I have so many good memories of listening to their music at University with my friends while playing Dark Souls.
Never made a bad record. You can always tell a doves tune. They don't move too far from their roots, you can hear their unique sound in every tune. Best band ever for me.❤
Usually, I cringe when there's a comeback, such a long time has passed. I almost couldn't bring myself to listen to this, I didn't want it to be bad. I decided to listen before I thought to much about it. I clicked play through one eye... WOW... that's... fucking... brilliant!
I still have the black and white doves bumper sticker I purchased during one of the early North American tours on the sun visor of my 18-year-old car. With the visor slightly lowered, that sticker has helped me find that car in every place I ever parked for almost two decades. I'd have frozen to death by now if not for this band! Welcome back!
This video (and obviously this song) had some kind of relaxing, hipnotized and existencial effect on me. Like staring down at my own soul or the human existence. No bullshit.
By the gods.... What can I say to this?! In the words of Spock, "I am emotionally compromised." Heavy ass raw as shit beat, those wonderful Doves bass hits, and those heart string tugging hooks. Let's not forget Jimi's magickal, Veil transcending voice.
@@Electrobilia Thank you. I'll actually be giving them a fitting promo in my next presentation called "Our Haunted Lives" in the Centered Hearth Facebook group. facebook.com/groups/centeredhearth/permalink/660941617897203/?sfnsn=mo
My son was born in the Cedar ward in the Heartlands hospital. I played this on the way home. I have never cried so much in my life and I loved every second of it. Criminally underrated band.
Just over a week to find out now, the singles have been good so far. Everything I've read (one online review, Uncut's review) are saying it's very good and even possibly their best LP.
IT`S A BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY WITH MUSIC!! listening to old jazz records, and new things like "Louis Cole" "La rueda o el barco" "Metronomy" and "Doves"!!! Gooooodnight!!!
Love you guys and can’t wait to see you all again ..I’m the guy with the pick up at parr street when you were all recording some cities and thank you so much for that album too Jimmy Jez and Andy ❤
What a fucking miraculous return to form from Doves. Amazing track and to those of us who have followed them since the early days and love them - a glourious day.
Long time Doves fan since around 2001. Saw them live in Toronto a few times, just incredible. Glad for more great music. Finally got to England a few years ago too, including the North West, though I haven't seen them perform there yet.
Suddenly the world feels a little bit better x
Well said. ❤️
Seriously
Hell yeah.
Beautiful comment
Jep 🙂
This band helped lift my heart after my Dad died.
❤️🖤 💪🏼
Same here x
Same as it was my dad who discovered them years ago and of course that means i liked them as well. I lost my dad in January this year... nothing has been the same...but "this" is another lil something that keeps us connected in spirit! ❤
Stay strong my man
What a wonderful and moving comment.
Epic return, in every sense. God I've missed them.

This isn’t new. The new single is today. This is an old mix the 2 brothers did a few years back just with new lyrics on

Agree Tim.
49 years old and this puts a tear in my eye, absolutely epic.
60 in July...and I'm in bits! 😢...love these guys
Thought I was the only one, you know it's good stuff when it can move you to tears 👌
They are another Northern band that are so consistent on making great records.
I haven't seen them live.
I am 54.
👍🍺
Couldn't have said it better myself wonderful stuff altogether ❤👏👏
+10 & I couldn’t agree more
If there is Doves, there is hope in the world.
Amen
Honestly it’s almost like they anticipated the symbolism of their name
Doves don't make music, they ARE music.
Heart just soared w your comment ❤❤

True
you heard it here first, folks

I'm 37 and I'm exactly the same.....I'm glad there are more people like us......music forever ✊🏻
i'm 51... Saw them a multitude of times at small new york clubs like irving plaza...starting with the Lost Souls album... just a brilliant band! Actually my favorite of that era.
I'm 38 and equally agree they are an incredible band. Don't know how I can get my 2 year to sit and listen but I'll try :)
Great review that! We took my then 5 year old to see them last year. (His first gig) he absolutely loved it.
Yeah, I can totally understand that. I remember one morning walking home from my gf's with a huge morning glory, and listening to Elliott Smith.
I like how his voice has aged. I remeber in 2009 when I was about 16 years old, I got my first ipod and 'Kingdom of Rust' was one of the first records I got on it. I was exactly the same as you 16 in 2009 Kingdom of Rust on my first iPod. 27 now... Crazy how the time has flown...
@@GroovyGreenBear Same...15 I think. Nearly 27 now. God, I missed them. So glad they are back.
what's an ipod?
I'm now 25 and KoR was my first Doves record I bought. Their music been always with me/us.
It's funny you say that, but Jimi's voice sounds almost like it did 10-15 years ago to me lol
Seriously. How can you not feal the emotion in this song. The vocals, how the feel of the music just moves your inner soul. Masterpiece.
That drum track is insane!
Truly one of the best songs ever.
Never made a bad record. You can always tell a doves tune. They don't move too far from their roots, you can hear their unique sound in every tune. Best band ever for me.❤
Tuuuune....a rare thing a decent comeback song.
From hearing "The Sea Song" one late night on the radio, to now, this band has never disappointed me.
Northern soul ✊🏻
One of the few positive things to come out of 2020, absolute banger 👌
In a period of dreadful music this is very refreshing !!!
There's only one bad thing about this, it ends.
This is the 'Single' version btw, so expect more ;-)😘
There’s only one good thing about the end of this song, you can start again.
Chuck Norris will annhihilate the replay button.
A euphoric masterpiece. Welcome back boys, we've missed you.
Eleven years without Doves. How have we done it, people?! So good to have them back - and with such an epic beauty. Doves forever.
Eleven.....Miles Out 😉

i dont think they went away
I don't think comeback is the right word..
It's better when an artist doing his things when he feels like it and because he need to remain popular
I know what you mean buts are no ordinary band.
This is probably the best comeback song ive ever heard....
Chuck Norris approves!
It feels like Doves just singlehandedly brought actual music back from hibernation ... Oh my life... 🎧

Brilliant...
This video (and obviously this song) had some kind of relaxing, hipnotized and existencial effect on me. Like staring down at my own soul or the human existence. No bullshit.
And a lot of positive energy that we had in our childhood. Away from the corrupt minds.
