@@MatthaiKurian Seems like most places have either removed them (like Victorinox's own site in some countries, at least) or have been out of stock for ages. Doesn't look like they're currently in production.
Your reviews on these victorinox tools have been spot on. I've been in the market for one and it's nice to see such a deep review without all the frills. Thanks.
As always excellent review! You’ve got knife and tool reviews dialled in, the format is tremendous. Thanks for the hard work, it’s top notch content. Looking forward to the inevitable growth this channel is going to have.
This was exactly the info I was looking for. I used to work as a manager up until this past summer at my previous employer where I also filled in as the "handy man" around the place, so I was allowed to bring my toolbox. Now I work at a bank and I am not able to lug a tool box around, but I miss at least having something of my own to help touch up even a loose screw now and then or to just have a tool on me for any time of the day. This seems like a great option to look into.
Late answer: The orange peeler is a better package and clamshell opener that the little peeler on the 58mm knife. It is an exellent little tool that i find more and more use for.
One of my favorite EDC knives and can be a nice step up from the 58mm line. Was sad to hear they shut down the production line on the 74mm knives this year.
The harpoon spear looking "Cut & Picker" blade on your Alox 58mm was ment to cut pill bottles open around the cap & pluck the cotton out, that's why it's a questionable package opener. Love this "Executive" ! Wish they weren't discontinued. Next best thing is the little 58mm Rambler. That Orange Peeler & larger pen blade is exclusive to the 74mm size, sadly. Loved your review !
I wish they'd incorporate a bottle opener. A package opener would be better than the small blade, I agree. I like the package opener on the Gerber Dime. That's the main reason I keep the Dime around at all.
I carry one of these on my keys now. Tried the Sd, the mini champ, but they lacked something. I think the file on this is best nail file victorinox makes and it makes quick work of filling down the nails. I like the longer scissors too, as they stretch a bit farther than the SD model. That orange peeler works good for box opening and will work on a calm she'll too in a pinch. I remember the straw cutting days. Cherish them while you can cause them kids grow just as quickly as you grow older ;-)
The package opener, scissors, and metal construction are why I prefer the Gerber dime over the smallest victorinox models. I prefer the leaterman PS4 over both at the moment.
Hello I am French and I have just discovered in your video the tool to put on the Leatherman Surge in order to open parcels and packages. I have never seen him in France. Where can we find this accessory and which brand makes it? Thank you
Thanks for the review. I swung by to see what you had to say about the Executive. By the way, according to info I collected years ago, the Victorinox Executive was used in five episodes through the seven original seasons of the MacGyver Show. :-) I do have one, use it occasionally, and have used that blade on citrus. That fingernail file tool is terrific. I too like the scissors and although they have more reach and look more substantial on the 74mm knife, the actual cutting edge is about 14mm on both the 74mm and 58mm, so not as much advantage as I would like. At least that is what it appears to me on the Executive that I have. At the moment and for the last few months I have been carrying a Victorinox Farmer X. It has those all important scissors. :-) I see you have a review of which I plan on watching.
Farmer x is my weekend edc and the victorinox fieldmaster is my all time favorite edc has been for many years now I've got the clear Red plus scales on it now so I love it even more now for me the driver is much better than the corkescw but that's just me Ben this is a fantastic channel and I love your Swiss army knife review's but Donald strader I love my farmer x fantastic little tools thanks again guys👍
The orange peeler is redundant to me since the knife already comes with two other blades. I'm sure they can peel oranges, lemons, and many other fruits effortlessly. Everything else is perfect about this knife. Also, in Canada🇨🇦 you can carry a blade up to 6 cm in your carry-on luggage or your person during flights. Isn't that great? It's perfect for short trips where you don't check your bag.
Excellent review as usual. By the way thinking of a companion tool why not try the Victorinox midnite manager, it also has a pen and a flash light in a 58mm body
"The orange peeler thing...how many people need that?" There you betray that you are a worker and not an executive. That tool has a prominent, on-the-belly serrated section that I think is intended to be used as a citrus rind zester, something that would see frequent use by martini-loving executives. 😜 P.S. I'm loving the Vic Spirit X from your giveaway. Thanks again.
Probably early 1950s. There are luxury versions from the 1960s, with horn scales, suggesting it had been around for some time already. Discontinued 2021.
Hey ben. A buddy and I have just today opened a thermal hunting forum would you mind if I linked it on here? Just trying to give us a little kick start where I can, no worries if you'd rather not though buddy feel free to delete this comment

@@txtoolcrib thanks ben. It's just at that point where it needs like three or four guys to break to the ice and get the ball rolling. The very start when it's empty is always the hardest lol
Been using the exec for decades. Thought it was my little secret. Slim in the pocket and with a little imagination it's indispensable. What's with you guys doing these videos swiping your fingers across the tools. Stop it! It's not safe or good for the steel! Dang, you guys know this....
Danny this sak has been in my pocket since 1969! Love it...
The Executive is one of my favorite SAKs. It's too bad I only discovered its greatness just as I found out the whole 74mm line has been discontinued.

Why couldn't the citrus peeler double as a clamshell pack opener?

I’m always cutting straws for my kids too! I have a skeletool but I carry a Victorinox rambler on my keychain. It’s a perfect “Dad” tool!
Why do you cut it and release the micro plastics? Dude
No it's not. One. No straws. Two. No plastic. Three no cutting of plastic. Four. Stop giving your kids sugar drinks

The Dime has a nice little package opener. I wish there were more knives that incorporated a good package opener.
I have a black handled one. I agree with all the comments about the knife, truly an excellent tool.
Cool! I’ve been starting to like Leatherman more than Victorinox, but the more minimalist saks are a great thing to have on you.
Totally agree!

They do grow up fast don’t they. My youngest is three now and has the vocabulary of a second grader. You gotta love the Information Age.
My very favorite sak of all time! I carry one almost every day. It is a complimentary tool to my super tool 300. Great review 👍
Might want to pick up a spare as the whole 74mm line has recently been discontinued. It's unfortunate... the Executive is also one of my favorites.
Thank you for the heads up I will definitely have to pick up another one or maybe two.
Just bought one a week ago. I love it!!! Great addition to my Victorinox collection. Thank you for the great video!!!🔪🖤🗡
You’re quite welcome, thank you for watching.
I thought you said the orange peeler can be used as a good package opener?
These are still available even though they have been discontinued. I bought mine from Waveinn for $44 which included shipping from Netherlands.
The package opener, scissors, and metal construction are why I prefer the Gerber dime over the smallest victorinox models. I prefer the leaterman PS4 over both at the moment.
The Dime is a pretty good tool in it's own right. Especially the cap lifter.
Is that smaller blade the same size as the regular blade on the 58mm knives, or is it even smaller? Thanks for the review!
Late answer: The small blade is shorter but wider than the 58s.
7:20 Try the "pruner" blade.

I usually just use the small blade for opening smaller items, similar to an exacto-knife.
Is £50 good for a brand new one with the leather case?
They need to make an Alox version of this.

Believe it or not I bought this because it had the orange peeler!
💚💚💚 i had 6 oranges for breakfast
I've got the executive in black. It's been my secondary edc for about 3 months now and I love it!
I should get some black versions of SAKs.
@@txtoolcrib The black scales are slick man! I've got a swisschamp in black too and it's great
Question where do you get your multitools from? Direct from manufacturer? Or on a site?
I get most of them from Amazon or my local knife shop. Some I will buy direct from the manufacturers.
So pissed that I discovered this one after they’re discontinued. Now the prices on eBay are if they’re made of gold!
Same. Agreed.

Thank you. It works pretty well as a citrus peeler I must admit.
I made a necklace around my neck found at a flea market for 5.00 in ment condition like it 😊thumbup 👌
nice
Thanks
