(Suzie) A week ago, I had back surgery for a facet cyst on my spine..Aetna has given us the 'run around' from our first request for an MRI. They turned that down and after much back and forth, I finally got that, then they turned me down for surgery and my husband said that we would pay for surgery ourselves...he didn't want me to be in pain for another six weeks of useless PT which wouldn't make the cyst go away and it'd still need surgery...they finally reversed the decision and we are going to get our money back!!
Insurance companies SUCK when it comes to approving an MRI. I had severe sciatic pain, went to a chiropractor. He recommended an MRI after 10 treatments didn't do anything to relieve my pain. Of course my insurance didn't approve it so I paid out of pocket and low and behold I have a synovial cyst of the lumbar facet. If they don't approve treatment then I'm going to the ER.
this sounds like me im a powerlifter and im 17 and have almost simular problems but exray showed nothing and im waiting on the ct scan. but in canada you have to wait forever to see a doctor and stuff. i had back pain for almost 7 months and still dont know nothing.
