I bought my first Arizona Birko-Flor online. Big mistake as your 1st pair shouldn’t be bought online as you don’t have a basis yet. I bought a size 44…..turned out to be too big so it’s my exclusive “Socks on Stocks” pair. I bought a 2nd pair not long after at the Birkenstock botique where I was able to fit it better. It was a different Birko-Flor Arizona and it’s exclusively used without socks.
Returning it would have been nice but I bought it from an online shopping app & not the Birkenstock webstore so returning it can get complicated. I live in tropical Southeast Asia so Birkenstocks are essential to looking stylish as well as keeping your hardworking feet comfortable.
For the EU 45 you are demonstrating, I would personally size up. You have almost no space behind your heel, when ideally you want a little bit so your heel isn't touching the edge. It also looks like there is some wear on the front edge, so it looks like your toes touch it when moving around. As long as they fit and feel good, that's most important, but generally when between sizes (in this case you mentioned being between 290-300 mm), it's best to size up. In my experience, I've done this and have never had my foot come loose from the heel cup. You do have a bit more spacing all around, but it's fine. Conversely, I've gotten nasty blisters from the sides of my feet and toes touching the edges, because they rub and you get nasty friction burns. But just my opinion. What works for you is most important.
@@Striker50_ ah, I see. Did you try a narrow model if available? I think that’s my issue. I am 43 but the length tends to be more than I’d like. A narrow fit might help. Unfortunately the models I like tend to not come in narrow.
