Love your channel❤❤❤ But again YOU JUST SUCK AT THIS GAME @DeeBeeGeek. Ive said it again, its your overal playing style SA2 just exposed it for you. We were playing this game as pre-teens and finished this multiple times as i could finish this game on a saturday as i really like the story. Its really you and i am not trying just diss you as i enjoy watching you overal for atleast a year now. There comes a certain point in a game were they are going test how much you neurologically adapted to the game, especially Sega games work like this as they are more arcade-ish games. Bayonetta is another example of this. Ive notice in the other video of SA2 in the last Sonic levels that you dont use the lightspeed dash to maintain momentum which shows you have not adapted to the speed of the game at all and the awareness it requires. Again its not with SA2 alone, certain sections of your other playthrough video's you also are goofing around too much and than get overwhelmed when it gets a bit more difficult (in your Xenoblade 1 video when fighting the Telethia when meeting Melia, it also was getting sitting through it). So i get this stressed you out but its really YOU!!!😂 You should let your brain be more open for neurological adaption and i mean it. Both Bayonetta and Sonic games are great testers for this. DBZ Sparking Zero also pretty much challenges you on this and how reactory your brain is and is also a game i highly recommend (especially if you enjoyed Bayonetta's Witch Time triggering) Even Super Mario games has a very high difficulty spike after certain sections. Enjoy your time with your Fam and Best Wishes🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hey I called it on his community post. He has the reaction time of a snail and forgets to use mechanics in the games he plays constantly. And he also hasn't touched this game in what, 2 years? There was only one way this video was going to be, especially when he stopped just before the hardest levels in the game.
watching him play the game this badly just completely hurts my soul anyway, here's a list of almost every mistake he made in this video (don't ask how long it took me) eternal engine 0:45 you're not supposed to hit those 0:57 you didn't wait for the platforms to come back 1:20 you didn't wait for the platform to go back down 1:27 you're supposed to attack it before walking past, and also it's only vulnerable when it shows its head while attacking 1:45 you didn't wait for the platform to go back up 2:10 you straight up just didn't hit the jump button 2:35 again, you aren't supposed to hit those 2:56 you didn't jump meteor herd for meteor herd as a whole, don't be afraid to use the hints especially if you aren't going for A rank rouge boss fight 9:37 you died to rouge's special move which you need to glide in order to dodge underrated level (crazy gadget) 13:20 how did you forget how to homing attack?! 13:50 ok that was actually a fault of the camera, there's a rail down there and you could've landed on it if it panned down in time 14:12 JUMP OVER THE ATTACK! 14:21 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HOMING ATTACK! 15:00 how the hell did you miss the flame ring?! 15:37 sonic literally stops automatically when at the edge next to a death plane, it's supposed to stop stuff like that from happening, also you forgot to light dash 15:48 light dash 16:01 FOR FUCK'S SAKE, LIGHT DASH!!! IT LITERALLY SAYS IT IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER WHEN YOU GET CLOSE ENOUGH! 16:12 HOMING ATTACK DAMMIT!!! 16:20 DON'T JUMP, JUST PRESS B BUTTON! 16:24 LIGHT DASH!!! 16:35 again, sonic stops himself from falling off the edge to his death 16:55 take a shot every time he's supposed to light dash but fails to do so, but i will admit that the game should've put you on the rail there 17:02 you didn't wait for their electric shields 17:12 same mistake as last time 17:21 FUCKING LIGHT DASH!!! 17:28 you didn't press b button when you approached the rings, you just jumped and then bounced to your death 17:35 i will agree that it's janky but you're also just bad 17:44 ok that was just straight up a glitch, that wasn't your fault 18:11 you just straight up tried to jump off the edge into the void, that was 100% on you 18:24 the one time you were supposed to bounce, you didn't i'm convinced you're just trolling 19:08 you just started moving forward too late 21:32 fuck you tails final rush overall i will say that the rails are probably the most janky thing in sa2 (second only to the camera) so i'm not really blaming you on most of these 25:43 you're supposed to cancel your momentum over the platform, not before it 25:47 if you did nothing, you would've landed that 26:26 you didn't jump, also nice 26:40 homing attack into the vertical rails to move up 27:30 you homing attacked last time, why not this time? 28:02 WHY DID YOU BOUNCE?! 28:10 you jumped too early 28:28 you didn't switch rails 28:50 homing attack onto them, don't jump into them and then homing attack 29:00 you could've done the momentum canceling you tried last time 29:40 you should've built up more speed, or you could've done a rail switch 30:00 you could've landed on the platform with the rocket 30:36 not your fault 31:25 should've jumped 31:32 needed more speed 31:45 you just straight up jumped off 32:07 should've stayed on the rail like last time 32:18 gotta go fast 32:30 ditto 32:40 ditto ditto 32:42 you're supposed to hold b 33:00 jump 33:06 you just jumped off 33:45 not your fault, just jank 33:50 YOU JUMPED OVER THE RAIL! 34:19 WHY'D YOU PRESS B BUTTON?! nice save at least 34:27 nevermind, you leaned too much and slowed yourself down 34:40 should've had rings 35:21 that's just jank, idk how it put you on the lower rail 35:31 you jumped over the rail 36:05 why'd you jump?! 36:09 don't bounce there 36:27 should've done nothing, you would've landed it 36:43 WHY'D YOU BOUNCE, YOU'VE BEEN ON THOSE THINGS A HUNDRED TIMES, YOU KNOW YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO HOMING ATTACK ON THEM!!! 37:20 FUCKING FINALLY!!! shadow boss fight 39:18 don't spam homing attack, you'll either fly off the edge or in your case end up going backwards (also there's arrows on the platform indicating the direction you're supposed to go 41:47 painful for me too let's play sin tally: 61 sentence: live and learn
@@PankoCat i definitely agree the game is pretty janky, i did point out multiple instances where death wasn't his fault however despite the jank, it's still a great game
I think the adventure games wouldn't have people being divisive on them if Sega didn't completely butcher the steam ports of the games and was able to port them 1-to-1 how they were originally. The SA1 steam port is a buggy port of the gamecube version, which was already a buggy port of the original Dreamcast version of the game. The steam port of SA2 fucks up some things and completely ruins the rail grinding physics. Still think they're good games, though nowhere near as good as the original releases, Sega is kind of notorious when it comes to releasing terrible ports of Sonic games and ruining that game's reputation at this point.
@@Crazy52 My favorite is Sonic Rush, but tbf the 3 most recently released Sonic games I’ve played are Mania, Lost World DS, and Colors DS. I have both Frontiers and Shadow Generations but haven’t even opened them yet… it’s just hard as a Kirby fan to try out a series that unlike Kirby does not have such a high average of quality. But I like the 2D Sonic games at least, and there aren’t really any duds there besides a few bad ports/versions.
Not gonna lie I don't think I've ever seen someone struggle this hard with this game. This was brutal to watch. You had the tools at your disposal but seemed to keep wanting to brute force solutions to the game. Sonic is a game you can play to go fast and the score system does take speed into account to some extent but if you're not worried about getting the highest ranks on stages then pacing yourself and really learning the controls is gonna set you up for success.
I will say a good portion of your deaths seem to come from you hitting the wrong button. I mean, there were a few times in which you homing attacked and it really didn’t help you. And that’s not even getting into when you hit the drop-down button right as you were jumping over a hole and just went straight down to your death. And your fight with shadow, you were too busy, trying to quickly take him out when it was obviously not working, and you weren’t paying attention to the fact that the ground was literally falling out from under you because you were taking too long. You gotta really watch that last one. And I am honestly trying to give constructive criticism. Because as hard as it may be to believe the controls for sonic adventure two may be a little jank, in some cases, but they’re also pretty tight. Especially when compared to future games. Like for example, sonic unleashed, depending on which version doesn’t have a drop shadow, which makes platforming very, very difficult.
Yup, basically all of that. It looked like a lot of it was impatience towards the end too, which is when my mom would usually tell me it's time to put the game up and go to bed, lol
He does. It's basically required for Sonic's second stage. He forgot how half the game works because of a hiatus he had after rage quitting the first part of this playthrough
@@123goofyking this isn't a "not knowing the game" thing. This is a "dude has never held a controller in his life" thing. game journo playing cuphead tutorial sorta bad.
I hate to be "that guy", but as someone who beat the game without much trouble when I was like 15...there are def skill issues here. Like half the deaths would be avoidable by just using the homing attack. That said, everything ain't for everybody.
2 seconds into the video and you can tell either the dude is profoundly low iq, or just has never played video games in his life. Why's he going so slow? Is he struggling with knowing what buttons are on his controller or something? Like just play, damn. On the stages he's at he should be going through them pretty quick.
i absolutely suck at games, like i admit i am terrible at them. sonic mania for example is really beating my behind right now, but even as a kid i had zero trouble completing sonic adventure 2. so i honestly got no idea how he is struggling more than i did as a kid. ( mind you , as a kid i was EVEN WORSE than i am now at games)
Streamer brain plus being used to modern controls plus bad camera in this game in particular equals an extremely unpleasant play experience. Gotta remember when we were kids when this came out we didn't have the point of reference of todays controls to compare it to so we thought nothing of it. Pretty much anyone who goez back to these classics discover that the controls really aren't great and have a hard time adjusting.
@@joshuabean7805while the controls are definitely flawed Dee also follows the definition of insanity and does not learn from his mistakes especially with older games. This game has many examples. He doesn't pay attention to the action icon for example so when he needs to light dash he completely misses the timing for it and the prompt and then does some other action that leads to his death. Or with the emerald levels, he searches the same area several times in a row even though the radar hasn't gone off at all. Or during rail grinding he jumped off to many shortcuts in final rush but had no concept of hopping between rails to avoid dead ends. My point is that while some of his problems are due to controls, the bulk of his frustrations are definitely self inflicted. And this is true of many retro games he streams not just this one
He's just a dude that barely played games becoming a gaming streamer then proceeds to play all of the popular games in the gaming space. Iam 100% sure he didn't play game before 2011.
@joshz2491 It's just wild to me, because he had more patience with the KINGDOM HEARTS series than he did with this game alone. He spent 12 hours on 1 single boss fight (two different times) but will blame SA2 for his lack of patience and wanting to rush through the game whenever "something is broken"
@@joshz2491 that's pretty much what I meant by his streamer brain getting in the way of him getting the controls and mechanics, it is unfortunately a issue I've seen with many streamers, they think they have to complete the game on a set schedule so they rush themselves and keep making the same mistake over and over because of some self imposed deadline.
I do want to apologize to @DeeBeeGeek about something, but during the livestream during the rail section outside the Ark, there were a lot of people giving the right but not completely true fact about pressing B on rails. Mine was about Mashing B, my mistake was forgetting to say during turns only and everyone else was right about holding B during straight aways but they kept saying don't press anything during turns but that causes you to lose speed. So, for future reference, if he plans on going all the way with the Dark story, Hold B on straightforward rails to gain speed and Smash B on turns, never bother touching the stick unless moving from rail to rail. And you'll be a speed demon on rail sections, just mind the gaps and obstacles. This game truly tests your reaction time and as the two old farts that we are, we don't have much of that in us.
Your issue with momentum on the rails seems to be due to your leaning left and right as you go. Just hold B and ease off on the stick, be ready to jump when you hit the end of the rail. Also remember that item boxes and enemies are opportunities to arrest your momentum and change your direction. Just hit straight with your Homing Attack. And a tip for the Robotnik stages later: remember that holding your targeting laser until you have multiple lock-ons is the key to success. You can almost always get a 7+ combo if you're patient and it helps you avoid the hatch bombs in the Ark.
I'm excited for the next episode cause you are close to beating the game, take all the time you need. It's important to rest from a game that gives you frustration. And if you feel confident to beat the game. We will be there to watch your next upload. 👍💯
Yup because Newcomers are legit Wienie Hot Junior Players….they can never beat the old games…or when they do?? It’s because they struggled through it and majority of reasons for most of there struggles were self inflicting……and then they call the game “bad” or “trash” like “nah that’s a SKILL ISSUE on you buddy”
It's well known that sega's overreaction to reactions by game journalists is why sonic drastically changed after 06 for the worse, and basically killed the series. I continue to wait for another game that's in the same style as SA1+2/heroes/shadow/06. I sincerely doubt I'll buy another sonic game for the rest of my life at this rate. When one comes out, I'll buy it. Until then, my boycott continues.
It's not that he's bad as a guy who likes good sonic games (SA1, Rush, Sonic 3, etc) most other sonic games are trash, not well designed, or fun SA2 & Sonic 06 are the best examples of bad sonic games
You gotta learn not saying something is bad when you don't like it... Its true the game is a little jank, but 90% of it is skill issue, forgetting your characters abilities and movements, not remember where things are from 1 second ago and being litterally blind. It is actually quite impressive in that regard... Watching you die to things and look for things for 10 minutes straight when the thing or path is right in front of you, and keeps passing in front of you gave me a headache from the induced anxiety.
Replayed the game a few months ago and it's still good. The game's camera isn't great but it doesn't ruin anything. The only unavoidable jank here was at 17:45 when that death plane was level with the spring. The rails eating your momentum can be avoided by just not touching the control stick while you grind.
Also the port is...like... proper broken controlswise, we just got so used to the jank that no one realised. There's a patch to fix the controls via mods now and it feels like I remember on the dreamcast now.
@@bonebag1961 Because it looks like a janky piece of crap. I'm pretty sure people just love it because of nostalgia. Anyone who would play it today would find it to be absolute dookie balls.
As someone who considers this game and Sonic Heroes as my favorite Sonic games, I can say this game has flaws and is not perfect, the game is pretty janky, Death Chamber and Mad Space being the worst levels is really frustrating to go through, having to find the upgrade items in the stages in order to progress is dumb as for first time players the game doesn't give you good enough hints on how to find them. Saw the stream, you struggling and being frustrated in Mad Space in understandable, you struggling in Final Rush is also a bit understandable as its a pretty challenging stage not sure if you will revisit the level but here are some tips, don't spindash when going down a slope if you're not experienced, when grinding on the rails you just have to hold down the B button to keep your speed and not touch the stick unless you want to switch to another rail and at the end of the rails that have the green X's and lines on them jump when you are near the end of it to gain some height, hope this helps and I understand if you don't like this game since it does have problems and it's not for everyone
Keep at it mate. Game ain’t easy and can be a bit jank at times, but you’ll get a hang of it. I still find it enjoyable to watch you go through this memorable game. ⭐️
I never thought I would be saying this about SA2, I usually only say this about Secret Rings, but I guess there’s a first time for everything! The game doesn’t suck, you just suck at playing it.
I literally just played this game yesterday for the first time in about 8 years. Still think it's incredible. I apparently last stopped before Eternal Engine, same one you started on, and got an A rank on the next 3 stages in a row and a B on the last first try. I think you just have a serious case of the skill issue. I mean I've seen you play other games, your reaction time is really slow and seem to forget mechanics a lot. May I recommend Persona as the next series for you. A game that's all about taking your time and there's always descriptions for everything you can do on screen. Plus you don't need to use most of the mechanics to beat the game.
This is absolutely true his reaction time is worse than mine and I have a physical disability that limits me to playing with one hand and my face. I'm not denying the janky controls but the Dee really just naturally struggles to learn from his mistakes and remember what he should or shouldn't do in games.
@lankthedank6931 I don't know what you mean. Persona 5 even has a baby story mode and the game really doesn't expect you to take advantage of everything in the game. One person nearly beat the game doing absolutely nothing with Joker. I mean only sleeping on free time, only guarding with him, no items, no confidants, etc. He made it to the final boss of the game on the hardest difficulty where he finally came to see it might be impossible just because of that one fight. Oh yeah and every NPC was set to auto combat.
@ I played Persona 4. The storm system with rescues and such was insanely difficult. Not only that but the difficulty spike in the beginning is absolute hell. It’s very, very stressful.
@@lankthedank6931 He’s talking about “reaction times”, not “stress”. Turn-based RPGs can be stressful but it’s not because of any required fast reaction timings.
I honestly feel like a lot of your deaths are from rushing. Take your time with jumping. Make sure a playform will be where its supposed to be when you get to it. The timer at the top rarely matters. Be mindful of what youre shooting with tails. You can do it!!
I don't think I've ever seen DeeBeeGeek so mad before. I feel bad for him lol. I recently played the game again to get ready for Sonic 3 and I still love it. Bugs and all
Dee, while it 'is' a hard game, the problem is you keep forgetting the controls. You're not locking on to do homing attacks as Sonic (and I know you know how because you were doing it as Tails). You also forgot the ringdash, which is essential to getting many places quickly. Many of your deaths as Tails also could have been avoided by not spamming attack in a room full of explosives that pull you into space. Take your time to relearn controls if you space out your gameplay.
Honestly I kinda vibe with that title with how tough this game could be sometimes lmao. Also fun fact, Tails and Eggman can both do the hyperbeam attack in their walkers, but you, the player, need 60 rings per blast. It's such an awesome ability though.
I'm sorry you're having a rough time with the game. I'm a long-time fan of the game (my absolute favorite from when I was a kid and I still play today). One of the reasons I came to enjoy it (and still do) was because the game balanced high-octane platforming with the Chao Gardens. Another reason was because I had endless hours back then to bash my head against hard levels, get used to the mechanics, and learn the secrets. I feel like streamers have a lot less time to come to grips with things because they're under pressure to finish things quickly. Just take your time, man. If you don't like it, that's fine too.
I personally prefer playing Sonic Adventure 1, but I can appreciate a lot of stuff in SA2. I prefer the structure and hub worlds of SA1 over the linear setup of SA2
One thing I definitely dislike about crazy gatchet is that its so easy trying to SD when you just want to light speed dash bruh Still love the game though lmao
I've had Sonic Adventure 2 on my Steam library since 2016. I just beat it for the first time last Saturday because I said screw it and modded the game to make it more playable. Believe me, you're not the only one, Dee.
The only bad mechanics in this game are the camera and the amount of clipping that can happen. I beat this game in like 2 sittings when I first got it as a kid, now can definitely do it in one.
Dee i get the game is janky and has A LOT of flaws. But your reaction speed is slow, you keep forgetting mechanics the game teaches you, you do the definition of insanity and keep repeating the same mistakes, you dont pay attentiom to hints or your surroundings... A LOT of your frustrations are completely self inflicted.
Seeing people actually play SA2, makes me understand why they circlejerk about "how good" the braindead modern sonic games are. They're all game journalists.
I get the feeling someone or something gave him the wrong advice to playing this game. Yes, it is tough on the later levels and for the final level with Sonic I remember trying to find alternate paths to completing that stage.
This doesn't look like an SA2 problem. It looks like he just hasn't played video games before. Starting with SA2 of all games is kinda odd. Go start with a 2d mario game for your first video game.
@@Otome_chan311he's beaten harder games than this before, but that's because those games don't have nearly the same amount of jank and actually work the way they're supposed to.
31:46 I’d call myself an expert at this game and even I’ve done that. The Steam version is also notably worse than the GameCube version, which threw me for a loop, making me wonder if my controller was over sensitive. It’s fine to not like the game, regardless of skill level at it, but at least you’re not deliberately ignoring the game’s mechanics and then expecting the audience to justify it to you.
Ha. This is funny! That ghost scream still hunts me... or hunts my stomach, because it hurt so much from laughter watching DB going back and forth and he just shows up again.
Forgets to Homing Attack, ignores the action window. Blames the game. The extreme skill issue is insanely painful to watch, but that only made the 5% of actual jank he dealt with wildly funny 🤣
After 40 deaths, I just wrote you off as needing a vacation. Clearly, mankind evolved past the early 2000's games design to more sophisticated stuff but holy hell 40 deaths....
I'm sorry man but I know you've probably already gotten like 9000 comments about this but I never have felt this frustrated watching someone play a game, it just straight up feels like you're not trying to play it and think about what you're doing as you play
Disagree, but I think the jankiness, enemies (especially the Artificial Chaos and Gammas), enemies surprise, camera angles, two cart levels (Tails’ and Rouge’s) are what bog this game down for me, but I still enjoy this, and played the story campaign at 6 different saves. I’ve learn to work around these problems most of the time. Some levels I used to dislike, I started to like a bit. So to me, it’s how you play the game, know it, and prepare yourself that makes the game fun. But even then there might be some things that’ll annoy you, especially the jankiness. Been playing this game since 2022 so I’m use to it. I’ve gotten A rank on Cannon Core Zone (1st mission), but that’s only x3 or x4, most times I’d get maybe a D rank or E, it’s because I’ve played that level multiple times, learn how to approach obstacles. Nerve racking a little, especially the platforming with Tails & Eggman, and water sections with Knuckles and Rouge. The boss fights (from what I remember) are the most annoying part though, but still to make it easier is if you’ve played it, and understand them, you can probably try and fight them easier and work around these issues. So yee… (18:09) This part always made me nervous, which is why I avoid playing Crazy Gadget Zone (besides the jank), but I think the devs should’ve had this part still have a normal view rather than switch it up.
Its no big deal you dont find SA2 good. There is a lot of stuff wrong with it but calling it outright "not good" is kinda... yeah. I mean, for example, in my opinion, fighting games like Street fighter or Tekken are not good. I hate them because I dont care for the amount of practice it takes to be any good to fight against someone who takes the time to learn how to play or to even have fun in the fight. I describe them as "I feel like Im fighting the controller more than my opponent". Now, having said that, I can still recognize that I am the problem in the equation and thats why I dont say "fighting games are NOT good" without saying "in my opinion" somewhere in there. So I would say "is the title rage bait? Most certainly", but thats my opinion.
Funny that you are pretty damn good at Zelda and absolutely horrible at Sonic lol. 100 deaths in this game is CRAZY. I think I maybe die 5 to 10 times per Light and Dark side for a total of like 20. Even as a kid at maybe 6 or7 I breezed through this game. Only the boss fights gave me trouble cause kid brain. Hate to be the critic here in this aspect because I found your channel somewhat recently and some other games you play you are pretty good at....... but this is absolutely a skill issue lol. This video was IGN journalist level bad. I just think that this game is not your cup of tea because this far in it should have started clicking, not gotten worse. I see that you came back later to finish things out and had fun but still. You cannot really blame a game you are performing poorly at for being bad because of ones own skills. Its like saying Dark Souls sucks because you die too much.
my love for this game i can only, solely classify as nostalgia/emotions from my childhood of losing our first chao roxie, me crying after the fact, and of course...shadow's demise. sure, i was 9, but that's still quite wild that i legitimately felt like i lost a precious pet back here in the chao garden. everything else...jank. i let my older sibling complete the rest. the following year when Zelda Wind Waker released? that was when i suddenly felt invigorated to really try getting good & honestly truly addicted to video games the first time in my life. no anime or even PS2 at the time yet, but man...from spongebob to gamecube. i am happy to finally be looking back very fondly now at the early-thru-mid 2000s since it previously was the lowest point in my life, but that's a whole other story i tell ya hwat !!
For fuck sake, use B to slam Sonic on to the rails and hold B to accelerate him. This is the best Sonic level in the game because of the rails. It even says "B Crouch" in the too right. Skill issue, aye.
So I checked the description and it doesn’t say. Can someone tell me why this was posted? Are these re-uploads because they originally got removed or something? I saw yesterday a re-upload on his other channel for SA1 but the playthrough was still up in this channel.
Sonic games have always been about precision platforming, from the very beginning. "Gotta go fast," is literally just a meme. So can you please take a second to look before you leap, for once in your life? FFS I'm pulling my hair out watching this! ... Much love, Deebs. I love your content! Have fun!
was the title really necessary? Dee I've defended your stance on this game. Its fine if you don't like it. But to openly call it a bad game, especially when most of your wounds were self inflicted, is pretty uncool, and is lacking entirely in situational awareness, to put it beyond mildly
Then again, he really doesn't play games unless they are EXTREMELY big or popular. He started with Zelda, one of the most ridiculously fanatical communities in the gaming space.
Brooo youre just doing it wrong. What you have to do it get this game at age 10-15 and play it obsessively into adulthood, so that you are so used to all the jank issues that you know to expect them and mitigate them, and also have the benefit of multiple years of practice to teach you exactly how to master the finicky controls. As long as you do that, you'll only still have about 3 of these issues
I apologize in advance for what this comment section is shaping up to be... I love SA2, but I'll be the first to admit that the game is extremely unforgiving to new players even though it often doesn't appear that way to long time fans who have experienced the game when they were children with nearly infinite free time on their hands (and also half the frustration). Maybe using cheats for infinite lives or having someone familiar with the game with you to give you tips and hints (like with your Shadow 05 video) would help, but I'll respect your decision if you don't plan to ever come back to this game.
I guess a lot of sonic fans take offense to someone not enjoying a game as a kid I loved SA2 as an adult I have no clue why I only truly like the sonic and shadow stages knuckles stages are better the rouge stages. Which the Treasures stages in sa! never took me as long to complete as the one's in sa2 the ones int 2 aren't as fun or memorable besides pumkin hill thats the only stage in the treasure part of the game I actaully like fun to explore and nice soundtrack fuck the space treasure hunting levels, and who in their right mide decided to give tails mech levels eggman makes sense but why can't tail just run like he did in SA1 and every other damn game before it he's never needed a mech before now and this is the only game I know of that forces him to be in a mech cept maybe flying the tornado which he isn't in all the time mostly cutscenes or those flying levels in 1 which are actually fun and only happen like once or twice. SA1 is better in pretty much every single way you can choose who you want so your gameplay flow isn't broken like hey here's a sonic stage ok now you play tails then knuckles then back to tails then you get to go back to sonic vs 1 i pick sonic and I play sonic all the way until he's done tails has fun levels racing sonic knuckles stages are actually fun an memorable and aren't a pain in the ass with the stupid talking to the computers and the radar only picking up one specific emerald piece at a time the gamma levels are similar to the mech levels but he's a robot so it makes sense and they don't suck like the one's in 2 amy while slow is still fun least to me the only blemish the game has is big and requiring you to play all the stories to beat the game which wouldn't be that bad if big wasn't required which adds nothing to the story. Just kinda sickening seeing the fansbase think the game is the holy grail of sonic games and it's so amazing when it really isn't you can love the game that's fine but don't demean people that don't I used to love it as a kid but not so much anymore. Love your channel❤❤❤
But again YOU JUST SUCK AT THIS GAME @DeeBeeGeek.
DBZ Sparking Zero also pretty much challenges you on this and how reactory your brain is and is also a game i highly recommend (especially if you enjoyed Bayonetta's Witch Time triggering)
Even Super Mario games has a very high difficulty spike after certain sections.
Enjoy your time with your Fam and Best Wishes🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I think the adventure games wouldn't have people being divisive on them if Sega didn't completely butcher the steam ports of the games and was able to port them 1-to-1 how they were originally. The SA1 steam port is a buggy port of the gamecube version, which was already a buggy port of the original Dreamcast version of the game. The steam port of SA2 fucks up some things and completely ruins the rail grinding physics. Still think they're good games, though nowhere near as good as the original releases, Sega is kind of notorious when it comes to releasing terrible ports of Sonic games and ruining that game's reputation at this point.

@@martfp88For real, any level that doesn't include Shadow and Sonic are the most stressful and boring, and they take up most of the game.

Driving you up the wall, haha accidental pun
Quitting is probably the most skill I've ever seen from this gameplay...
Gonna be honest with you... some of this looks like it could be avoided with a calmer mindset 😅

I've beaten SA2 before and I didn't enjoy it... yes he's bad at it but he is right it's a bad sonic game
Or maybe you should learn to respect other people’s opinions. SA2 is a very mid game with bad controls and jankyness.

Persona is EXTREMELY stressful, how on earth is that better?
@lankthedank6931 I don't know what you mean. Persona 5 even has a baby story mode and the game really doesn't expect you to take advantage of everything in the game. One person nearly beat the game doing absolutely nothing with Joker. I mean only sleeping on free time, only guarding with him, no items, no confidants, etc. He made it to the final boss of the game on the hardest difficulty where he finally came to see it might be impossible just because of that one fight.

Do you work for IGN by any chance? Because some of this gameplay leaves that impression.
The game isn't hard. Getting the highest rank is hard, but just playing through the levels is really easy.
Honestly I kinda vibe with that title with how tough this game could be sometimes lmao. Also fun fact, Tails and Eggman can both do the hyperbeam attack in their walkers, but you, the player, need 60 rings per blast. It's such an awesome ability though.
I strongly disagree, but no worries there’s plenty of people who also prefer the gameplay in Sonic Adventure over Sonic Adventure 2.
I like the design of SA1 better, but SA2 is clearly the superior game.

Ha. This is funny! That ghost scream still hunts me... or hunts my stomach, because it hurt so much from laughter watching DB going back and forth and he just shows up again.
Bro, just stop playing if you can’t even handle playing it
Forgets to Homing Attack, ignores the action window. Blames the game.
The extreme skill issue is insanely painful to watch, but that only made the 5% of actual jank he dealt with wildly funny 🤣
12:57 - oh, i will, and i haven't played SA2 since Battle dropped on GCN. I'm pretty curious to see how my memory stacks
Nah, it’s a genuine skill issue on your part.
After 40 deaths, I just wrote you off as needing a vacation. Clearly, mankind evolved past the early 2000's games design to more sophisticated stuff but holy hell 40 deaths....
Live and Learn, brudda.
I'm sorry man but I know you've probably already gotten like 9000 comments about this but I never have felt this frustrated watching someone play a game, it just straight up feels like you're not trying to play it and think about what you're doing as you play
Not gonna lie, that title hurts a bit.
Even when I played this game the first time I didnt have this much issues during the treasure hunting and shooting stages...
If I can love Ocarina of Time with its issues, I can definitely love this game with its issues lol
There is a different between a bad game and you sucking at the game.
Jesus Christ... It's like watching that one game journalist failing to complete 1 obstacle in a cuphead tutorial room.
Or maybe the game is just mid with bad controls and very janky.
@TheManaTree777 he's LITERALLY at the final stage of the game, he should've adapted to it.😭😭 😭
Disagree, but I think the jankiness, enemies (especially the Artificial Chaos and Gammas), enemies surprise, camera angles, two cart levels (Tails’ and Rouge’s) are what bog this game down for me, but I still enjoy this, and played the story campaign at 6 different saves.
So yee…
(18:09) This part always made me nervous, which is why I avoid playing Crazy Gadget Zone (besides the jank), but I think the devs should’ve had this part still have a normal view rather than switch it up.
Its like saying Dark Souls sucks because you die too much.
judging from this video, he's probably equally terrible at zelda.
Oh the memories, I was pretty sure you’re gonna have an aneurysm during Tail’s Space Colony Ark level
my love for this game i can only, solely classify as nostalgia/emotions from my childhood of losing our first chao roxie, me crying after the fact, and of course...shadow's demise. sure, i was 9, but that's still quite wild that i legitimately felt like i lost a precious pet back here in the chao garden. everything else...jank. i let my older sibling complete the rest. the following year when Zelda Wind Waker released? that was when i suddenly felt invigorated to really try getting good & honestly truly addicted to video games the first time in my life. no anime or even PS2 at the time yet, but man...from spongebob to gamecube. i am happy to finally be looking back very fondly now at the early-thru-mid 2000s since it previously was the lowest point in my life, but that's a whole other story i tell ya hwat !!
For fuck sake, use B to slam Sonic on to the rails and hold B to accelerate him. This is the best Sonic level in the game because of the rails. It even says "B Crouch" in the too right. Skill issue, aye.
You're so good at this game i can see
I played this game for the first time and didn’t struggle as much as you did😭 you gotta change the title man. This is a skill issue not a game issue.
So I checked the description and it doesn’t say.
Can someone tell me why this was posted? Are these re-uploads because they originally got removed or something? I saw yesterday a re-upload on his other channel for SA1 but the playthrough was still up in this channel.
This game was easy for me as both a kid and an adult
Sonic games have always been about precision platforming, from the very beginning. "Gotta go fast," is literally just a meme.
So can you please take a second to look before you leap, for once in your life? FFS I'm pulling my hair out watching this!
... Much love, Deebs. I love your content! Have fun!
Ironically, from what I can tell, his issue was that he was playing too slowly. Like he didn't have a good grasp on using a controller in general.
His face during the scenes with Rouge and Knuckles was killing me 😭😭😭
I hate to say this. It’s 100 percent skill issue
In times of hardship you need wholesome moments to keep your soul intact, totally understandable
was the title really necessary? Dee I've defended your stance on this game. Its fine if you don't like it. But to openly call it a bad game, especially when most of your wounds were self inflicted, is pretty uncool, and is lacking entirely in situational awareness, to put it beyond mildly
@@Seckamb1298 objection. Lame and unoriginal
Then again, he really doesn't play games unless they are EXTREMELY big or popular. He started with Zelda, one of the most ridiculously fanatical communities in the gaming space.
@SyLuX636 yet you wouldn't usually find the Jankiness on most Zelda games. Specially comparing to the first and second 3D games on both franchises
@Phant0mK16 believe me there tons of jankiness in Zelda games. OoT of of the most beloved LoZ games has so much jank in it.
@SyLuX636 sure. I know what you mean but it is not as much as the early 3D Sonic games. Don't get me wrong, I really like them but they are janky AF
And then he too can pretend the game is perfectly fine
I apologize in advance for what this comment section is shaping up to be...
I love SA2, but I'll be the first to admit that the game is extremely unforgiving to new players even though it often doesn't appear that way to long time fans who have experienced the game when they were children with nearly infinite free time on their hands (and also half the frustration).
Maybe using cheats for infinite lives or having someone familiar with the game with you to give you tips and hints (like with your Shadow 05 video) would help, but I'll respect your decision if you don't plan to ever come back to this game.
The game definitely has some jank that isn't helped by modern ports messing things up. The game greatly benefits from mods.
If I ever boot it up in level select I ain't picking mech or treasure stages I'm always picking sonic or shadow stages because when I play sonic games that the gameplay I expect out of a sonic game.
The death counter on Final Rush just keeps getting funnier.
Most of us grew up with this game and we fell in love with it. Most people that try to get into it now dont usually have a good time with it. As a sonic fan I definitely appreciate the fact that you tried. And everyone is entitled to their opinion, ppl dont need to lose their minds because he doesnt like a game you liked.
