I just got the 008 based on the Mesa Boogie MKIII and it sounds killer. The band mates were impressed.
I have to admit, this really impressed me. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, but I'm glad they sound great. Looking forward to their Devin Townsend pedal.
These do sound really quite good! And I like how much attention they've put into the interface.
Picked up the 001 (Diezel Hagen), 005 (EVH 5150), and one not demo'd here, the 011 (Mesa Dual Rec). They all sound so killer through my Orange Micro Dark FX loop, even when hooked up to the 8" speaker cab!! To dial in a really good tone when routing directly into a recording interface (e.g. Clarett), I've found that it really only works for me when with cab impulse mode on, OR using a DAW (I'm on Logic Pro X) to add a cab sim/IR to the track. Once it's in the DAW can go any direction, but being a purist, I love getting the tone perfect as possible from the start and not going HAM on fx processing. Double tracking with these pedals is absolutely KILLER! Thanks for the sick demo, Ola!
Thanks for this. I'm eyeing the micro dark and a little 1x12 cab with V30 speaker for a little recording rig but now discovered these boxes and am debating going direct for home recording that won't piss off the wife. Have you been able to to try the mooer radar sans amp? I'm wonder if combining the 005 with the sans amp, I might be around to go direct and have e it sound half way decent? Either way I'm still getting the micro dark. I use protools an old digital 001 box.
@@homevalueglass3809 Have not tried the sans amp actually, only seen demos of the moor radar. Seems like a pretty handy device, especially if you gig. Since I'm no longer a gigging guitarist I prefer to use pre-amps into the recording interface and use a high-quality cab IR. Currently, I'm loving universal audio's cab IRs because there's something special about the way they integrate their software with hardware that sounds next level. If that's outside the budget, which is the case for many, two-notes also makes plenty of killer high-quality IRs that you can demo in le botique before you buy with two-notes software. Then you can load it up in the Mooer radar! Have fun!

Nah, Joyo hasn't done emulation like this. Joyo's pedals are based on existing designs ala Tech 21. These are digital pedals based on their own designs that emulate actual amps.

i have a dual rig setup that KICKS ASSES! Presicion Drive + TC Mimiq+ Dual Recto Mooer + Engl Mooer straight to my audio interface with Mackie 5'' monitors. The sound is BRUTAL

This is simply amazing.
They all sound amazing even with the built in cab simulation, and the size is just amazing as well.
I was just looking for a preamp pedal which is 2 channels and tiny!
I have the 005 long time ago, huge sounding and really kicking from rock to metal.
The only problem with this pedal is it has a small latency when you switch from clean to dirt, Dirt to clean. Just like the old multi effects processors (Like zoom 505, Digitech rp's etc.)
and I can't use it In my band because our songs when we play live are using fast switching from Clean to dirt style. And the pedal itself is getting hot (literally hot) when you use it for a minute. But that does not affect the sound overall.

all the top heavy amp sims here ..cool..and they sound killer on ola's setup.
Should be 1 pedal and 8 SD cards with the sims on them you slip into the pedal

With the Mooer Radar you can load your own personal & 3rd party cab sims.

Just bought the Blacknight, after watching this video; I've been playing with this for a couple of hours and it sounds fantastic.
I'm using it pushed with an MXR GT-OD in the effects loop of a Mini Recto, and it peels paint off the walls. Let's see how it sounds at gigging volumes.

Definitely preference, as the guy said. But I don’t think it’s a necessary gear to have. People argue that tube amps sound more organic, I agree with that. But there’s no way to beat the price on these pedals. It’s good quality stuff.
Relevance is not relevant. "Tube amps" have their place in the world of music as does digital modeling, as does software modeling, etc etc etc.

When I saw these micro preamps my first intention was to buy blindfolded the one modeled after the EVH 5150 III. After listening to this demo I find the EVH 5150 III the less attractive; right now I'm having a hard time trying to decide between the Engl Blackmore and the Mesa Mark III. DAMN!!!!!!
awesome demo but with all new products it's a bummer they probably won't be available till close to next year. The 001, 005 & 009 are sick!

Mark Lumsley easily their best amp IMHO tho
Mesa MK III were brutal , a lot of people complained that they were too " fizzy " with too much raw distortion which was hard to tame but perfect for me . I had the Coliseum MK III version which was also simulclass ..180 watts of fury and power . This was my first endorsement stack when I was a kid , wish I still had it and it weighed a ton .
Cliff Crosby Yeah man, I know a guitar tech with a Mk. IV and it is legit the heaviest combo amp I've ever tried to lift haha. Weight about as much as me!

Premier Guitar says their street price will be $99, so $60 retail sounds about right.
$60 seems like a decent price for these. I couldn't pay $100 for something without a whole lot of versatility. The tone is pretty awesome for what it is though.

Would be really interesting to hear one of these pedals in comparison to a real head. I would buy one either way and do it by myself, but it seems they don't sell it yet in Europe (Thomann for example).

holy shit, with the cab sim you could just show up to a gig with this pedal, cables and a guitar and be set. As long as you could live with monitors for hearing, you could have a really light weight rig with these.

These are awesome. I noticed I didn't hear the typical humming, buzzing or white noise notorious when overdriving an amp with a pre-amp. I didn't hear any noise gate opening and closing. Is there a noise gate being used, or are those pedals that quiet when the guitar is not playing? I wish I could get my guitar signal that quiet when overdriving that much. I have to use a noise gate, but the noise can still be heard sometimes. I might have some ground problems, but both, my Gibson les Paul and my Strat make similar noises. If you are doing that without a noise gate, I want those pedals right away.

Awesome review 🔥🔥 I fell in love with these pedals, and i plan on getting the 001 diesel or the 009 blacknight. I wanted to ask you, if your amp doesn't have a fx loop can you run it threw the front of the amp? The only thing I hear wrong is the volume when running it threw the front.
You won't get the intended result. This is a pre-amp, not a pre-pre-amp which would be a distortion pedal.
I find that mine sounds as good in front the amp as in the effects loop. I have a Marshall MG100dfx with the mooer 005 and 011.

I bought the blacknight 009 box, and I'm disapointed.
It is not possible to get close to Ola's sound without post eq.

YES. Granted this question is now 2 years old, with the technology today, analog and digital are interfacing incredibly well together. You can use pre-amps like this directly into your interface and use cab IRs from two-notes, universal audio, ownhammer, etc in any DAW and get incredible results, not to mention nearly limitless tones.

Okay this might be s stupid question. But if I get one of these and plug my guitar through it and straight into my fx loop on my fender (cybertwin) amp, will it replace/ substitute for the pre amp(s) ? Or is there something I'm missing? The pre amp on my amp is broken, so I'm trying to find a workable solution.
