As always. great video. I have had my Stelvio Q4 for 2 years and it is the absolute most comfortable ride I have ever owned.
Totally agree! our 1 year review of our 2023 Stelvio Veloce is coming soon,
I don’t have a Stelvio but this was a great vid for pre maintenance of any car..I was surprised that it doesn’t look difficult being an italian car.
looks awesome
Very easy cars to work on for the most part the hardest stuff is literally everything behind the dash on these cars
Going to make those 2x4 car stands before I do my first dyi service! Great idea and cheap to build!!
Great now i only need to buy the car
Same here 💯
Lmao 😅
Look for low mileage used cars at dealerships near you, I got mine, a Veloce with 21” rims with only 150 miles for $37k.
😂
😂
Very informative video. Love Alfas.
Been waiting for an excuse to trade in my Audi A3. You just convinced me. 😂
I love the hand tool I like that diy really good info to know 👍🏾👏🏾
Great video! Maybe, since you already pay attention to every detail, next time you clean the filter with compressed air, you might be better off doing it away from the exposed air box and inlet to engine to avoid blowing anything into the direction that is not needed. I would blow it away from the vehicle and also maybe cap the inlet to engine before blowing the air box!
Thoroughly enjoyable videos! Thank you 😊
That part of the video really caught me off guard as I wasn’t expecting anything visible to blow out but all the large stuff was safely blown out of the engine bay before I assembled back. Usually i wash these filters then blow out
Well done, Sir.... excellent instructional Video on the Service of this fine automobile . These Motocars thrive on a scheduled maintenance and those that complain about the reliability of these vehicles are those that don't properly maintain them as well as they should. Side note: Did I spy a New York registration in your vehicle.
Great tips. Been following your channel for while now and always amazing content. Quick question will the Autel AutoLink AL519 OBD2 Scanner reset the maintenance schedule on Stelvio?
Awesome car! You should change also the cabin filter every year
Cabin filter is a huge pita on these im doing that in a few more months i did a video on the Giulia a few years back
Wow! That car looks easy to do basic maintenance compared to other modern vehicles.
Super easy thats why i did the video to give other’s confidence to diy yourself.
Amazing video and very detailed.. .. you have or done video of Coolant Replacement and Transmission Fluid ? also How do you reset "Scheduled Maintenance Expired" on Dash and Infotainment and dealer does not want to do it if we do not get service from them..
Nice video. Where did you get the wooden service stands? Did you make these and if so do you have a tutorial on that?
very nice
Interesting how the rears take more pressure, my dad has that oil filter tool also yeah for sure it’s 20+ years old I actually like using it.
The nice thing about having the flat six Subaru is when you run their OEM black filter made from Tokie Roki, (Japan made )The filter actually gives you a torque value with lube applied..
How did you reset the scheduled maintenance timer?
Can you please do a video to clear the codes in 2022 Alfa Romeo stelvio Changed the brakes pads and I have ESC, brakes and others codes Please help
Thank you
Is the process any different for a 2020 Stelvio. Hopefully, the older models design wise stay the same. I'm just curious to know your thoughts.
Hi, thanks for sharing awesome detailed video. Would you mind sharing how to reset the oil change light after you change the oil there's a bunch of videos online but none of them seem to work. Do you have a solution? Thanks.
You need specific obd2 plugs, a laptop with Multiscan software its a pita i might do a video on it one day
Which oil do you recommend. I have a 2018 stel and I’ve been taking it to the dealer for oil change $135 all the time. I would like to give it a try. Please any tips
Dumb question I’m sure. But is there any need to disconnect neg battery terminal before all of these services?
Great video as usual. Ouick question: Would I be able to use the oil and oil filter combination on my 2019 Giulia 2.0? I normally buy the Mopar filter and Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX 0w-30 and have my dealer do the oil change. Would they balk at this combo? Thanks so much!
Yes you can!
Nope, don't use it, use a SP rated oil, at the Moment Pennzoil does not make a 0w30 oil that is compatible. It needs to be SP rated to prevent LSPI.
Amsoil 0w30 Signature, Mobil 1 0W-30 AFE, Is good too. Very inexpensive at Walmart with an OEM Mopar filter.
Manuals were updated to use 5W30 SP as well, so Pennzoil Platinum or whatever SP rated can be used.
Would it be a bad idea to just leave that plastic panel off for easy access in future?
Anyone know where to buy a service manual for the 2018 stelvio. Not a user manual… one with explicit instructions on how to remove parts like brakes, calipers and exploded views of mechanical parts and how to replace them
Don’t u think the car gotta be level (in ur case front is up and rear is on the ground) while doing oil change?
Thanks for the video. Kind of sucks that we have to remove that underbelly panel for every oil change. Are you worried about warranty if you do the oil yourself? 2022 Stelvio here. Also what do you think of the longevity of these engines? I’m assuming by now our 2022/2023 models year they should be pretty solid.
No issues of warranty since everything is documented on paper and video. These engines are ok if you monitor oil issues the dealerships replace these motors like crazy it seems but I highly doubt most owners even bother to check oil levels
Thanks. Did you ever make a video on your wood stands?
How much to get oil change at shop etc
I want to buy a 2022 Stelvio. Are they reliable? Please let me know 🙏
Enjoyable video as always. I believe you lease this vehicle like you did the previous Veloci. Do you mind explaining why you chose to lease?
You can’t lease any car today fyi rates too high I suggest buying i bought all my cars
@@autofanaticcars that’s what I was wondering about. Thanks Phil.
Ford explorer 399 month just saying.
Any other oil brand you’d recommend? I’m coming from an AMG, and I’ve accumulated some credit at FCPEuro, so I was wondering if some of the oils they sell would be a good fit for the Stelvio. Thank you in advance.
Liquimoly , Amsoil are great oils for the most part
@@autofanaticcars Thank you for the input. Great videos!!!
Stelvio owner here, also considering to change oil myself. May I ask how high do you lift it up to get enough clearance?
I use two of my AC Hydraulics floor jacks to place the front on my wood service stands as video highlights
BTW I cut a 8 inch square out of the under belly plastic so I can access my drain plug and filter. Yes a little dirt gets in there but I can change my oil in 20 minutes.
interesting tip send me a photo via email id like to check this idea out. the removal of the lower pan is the hardest part of the job.
Great, thank you. Couple or three things I'd like to see in future is how do you put the vipers in service mode and how did you reset the info screen. Also how much oil did you put in exactly and did you put oil in the filter. Thanks from the Giulia owner.
Owner manual explains wiper service mode its easy il do a video one day on service light reset
How do you reset both mileage and oil service lights
Thats a new video itself il show soon
Can’t wait for that video
I will be waiting for that video!
Where can I buy those wheel hangers. I have the same issue with my Abarth.
Order here my friend makes them store.stickyrxrs.com/collections/all
I’m cross shopping a low mileage (10k miles) stelvio with a new gti. You ever drive a tuned Gti? Cost aside, Do you think the stelvio is a better driving, fun vehicle? That 4000lb stelvio seems like it might be a tank compared to the 3000 lb Gti.
Completely different cars the GTI are fun but feel like an economy hot hatch . Depends what you truly want and need
I guess what I mean is driving feel and fun factor. The weight difference effecting the drive and braking to a significant degree on canyon roads. If u had any first hand experience. The stelvio is basically a fancier, lifted, hot hatch to me. that’s why I was comparing the two. Unfortunately dealer won’t let me test drive it outside the city to find out first hand. But for the same money I can get a loaded 21 stelvio ti sport w/10k miles OR a new Gti .
Which air filter you use as the replacement for oem?
Sprint, BMC or K&N all good options
@@autofanaticcars thank you!
If you haven't tried it, i really like the rainx clearview washer fluid. I feel i use my wipers less with it and it seems to leave a layer of non stick.
I Did a video on the orange Rainx years ago it stained my paint badly so i try to stick with the conventional blue stuff
What's the purpose of the wooden crate? Not a 'jackstand' I hope...
Safer than using ramps to work under a car the car can not roll off these wood service stands
@@autofanaticcars Uh, the car can still go down this way if a jack fails. Dangerous! Just use jackstands. That's what they are made for....
Your clearly not understanding the concept these stands are safer than any jack or jack stand because the car is on the ground. Unless an act of God caused a massive earthquake while i was under the car it would be impossible for the car to move. Look more carefully at the intro to this video.
@@autofanaticcars The video starts in a jacked up position, so I still would not rely on the jack keeping the car up. Especially when going under it.
First!!!
Made in Romania tires, my old country sweet 👍
These tires are awesome 😎 on the Stelvio
I don’t understand these car companies with oil filer why can’t they make a box with screws not the whole plate ugh
Most European cars are like this it really isn’t too bad once you have the right tools
burns oil....I don't have that problem....maybe u have an issue
These 2.0 all burn oil
@@autofanaticcars I've had mine for 5.5 years and I don't have that problem
Mobil 1 Oil Filters are crap, OEM Mopar filter, Purolator or Wix are all better.
Not true cut them apart and youll see Wix i use as well but oem is nothing special on these cars
@@autofanaticcarsOEM Mopar filter is literally a Purolator PL12222, tear downs have proven that.
Thank you for everything that you share about Stelvio - Giulia !!! I just did the oil change for my Stelvio. One thing only I noticed that Mobil 1 Filter M1 113A doesn’t fit !!!
