Tesla has come so far with performance - from not making 1 lap in old days to running as fast as Randy in a Ferrari 458 - crazy

The track has been repaved so the track is about 3 seconds faster now. Plus the 14 year old 458 will run laps all day and not over heat. Also In 14 years that Tesla will be in the land fill oozing toxic waste.

Exactly! And the model s plaid track pack lapped the green hell faster than a 2008 enzo or 2024 maserati mc20 can go there! 👍🏻

@@bob-qi4nr better hp to weight ratio in both the zl1 and enzo genius. Also the enzo didn't run in 08 it ran in 2012 and it ran the shorter course.

Great video. Maybe it's just me but I would prefer all track footage just have the original audio with no music.

Everyone bagging on this kick ass insane value per dollar tesla 2024 m3p on track? Should go read the most recent motor trend perf car of the Year testing the lucid air sapphire. Hint it to cooked it's full 16" 10 piston carbon ceramics brakes in under 1.5 laps on track at speed! 😀👍🏻

Haven’t put my order in yet but getting interested in track mods for braking following Mischa’s infamous Nurburgring lap. I note you mention 18”. Can you fit standard 18” Photon wheels on the Performance with the stock brakes without modification?

Did he run with regenerative braking turned on or off? The power meter on the video seems to show up to -100HP in braking zones, so my guess is he had regen turned on. Regen would significantly add to battery and motor heating, reducing power sooner. I'm wondering if the brake mods you put on this car (better 2 piece rotors / track pads / racing fluid) could handle braking without regen turned on at all?? Or would you really need a big brake kit for that (thicker / larger diameter rotors). I took my stock 2018 M3P on Laguna Seca a few years ago.....I left regen on, because I did not trust the stock brakes alone. I also got in 1 1/2 to 2 laps before power went down significantly, and I had to let the car cool down to regain power. Awesome video by the way!

We have been racing the older platform for several years so Tim did have regen turned down and we will share some of the same points you have mentioned in the video releasing tomorrow morning. We won't advise people on where to setup track mode for liability reasons but once you're more advanced with proper braking mods, like he has, you can surely turn regen down so that you don't heat the battery up as quickly. Drivers that are new to the platform and tracks should keep regen on as it will aid in "trail braking". You don't need a big brake kit until you are getting really serious and competing. For the average person oem sized 2 piece rotors, pads, lines, and fluid will still allow this car to run down most other performance vehicles on the track. You'll still have some serious bragging rights. Both sides of the equation must balance so often times if you upgrade one variable you'll have to upgrade several other ones. BBK, Pads, Tires, Aero, and before you know it you've gone down a very expensive rabbit hole.

Please do the Ioniq 5 N next to see how it does in terms of endurance. It should just last out of the box and can do 20 min track time, 20min charging and then directly back on track for another 20 min. That's the claim from Hyundai
The Model 3 Performance seems really disappointing in the track regard

@@MichaelPanzer we are a very small channel and doing car reviews isnt our theme. I have put some feelers out there but will not get our hopes up. I imagine there is a lot of risk for a loaner to be raced at a track as well for the manufacturer. In an ideal world we would qualify for a dollar car, build it, and then campaign it for Hyundai as part of a longer term agreement.
