    this was part of the puzzle i was kidding. I suffer from TMJ dysfunction and tend to have abnormal jaw movements and never considered how it affected the tone of my voice nor did i know about having my jaw in different positions based on the notes frequency i was aiming for. This literally changed how i sing immediately! Thank you for the tips!!

      This particular video has been the answer I’ve been looking for my entire life. You have just changed my entire way of singing as well as giving me insight into what my problem has been all along. God bless you. I’m not saying that this is all I need to work on, but oh my gosh, what a big fat lightbulb has just gotten brighter and more visual in my brain. God bless you again.

    Victoria! For me, this video is the most useful thing I have seen about singing in a long time. I found out I was bringing my jaw forward, especially on the EE vowel, which made it sound I was talking in tune rather than singing. Great video!

    I have tons of jaw tension. As I work your program, I am starting to notice in time away from singing that I HOLD my mouth closed and grind my teeth. Your instruction to always leave space between my molars has carried over into my personal time and I grind my teeth FAR less, and am even beginning to relax my jaw and let my mouth hang open when I am able to. I I followed along with every single exercise. I sang along with you (I'm a tenor) and the melody was too low. I began to harmonize so as to keep singing. Well, at the very end..,I sang along with you? Not too high. Was perfect. And fun. Wow. Thank You, Maestra.

    Omg you’re so right I always thought it was my throat but was so confused cause I could feel my diaphragm and breathing continuously, but it turns out I was putting my chin to far back and it was straining my tongue and throat and making my jaw really tight! Once I tried your head back exercise fixed that it sounded and felt so much better!

    Last week I have discovered that all my tensions came from my jaw and the way I open my mouth by using the jaw but not correctly. I discovered as well that the correct way to open the mouth helps a lot in the placement and have an impact in intonation. These exercises will definitely help me to correct the jaw position. I will try to sing all the aria by using these tools. Thank you a lot for these precious tips. 🙏

    I 'admire both your singing and your teaching. In following your advice to learn what I can about singing, I've remained puzzled about just what is meant by "open" "closed" and "covered" singing. I can define it by muscle activity, words applied to the resultant tone but I am unsure what each sounds like. I can not attach a sung tone to the dictionary description. Would this be something for a 'tip' or is this one of those things everybody knows but me? :)

    Hello Victoria! Let me just say, I love your teaching! It is so wonderful to see someone give so many wonderful tips to make singing as easy as possible.
    I have a question: I have a slight overbite. When I have to open my mouth down/wider for higher belting notes, I can feel my jaw unhinging and it feels like I don't have enough space for the note. I know there has to be some degree of unhinging when open your mouth, but it feels uncomfortable and the note doesn't sound that free... it can get pretty frustrating. I see singers like Whitney Houston and Beyonce and they open their mouths wider for those high belting notes, so I am wondering if I just need to work on the "down and back" method you described earlier in the video. Does the bite of your jaw really matter? Perhaps I am overthinking it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you so much Victoria :)

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Much depends on the degree of your overbite. You said it is slight. I would practice with your jaw in the palm of your hand and see if that frees it up. The exercises in this video are all great for a tight jaw. I really cannot tell you much more without seeing and hearing you.

    I have underbite and this causes me lot of tensions…When it comes to open my mouth in order to let the sound go out, my jaw always tends to go a little bit forward and I think that is causing me lots of tensions and problems that cannot be fixed…moreover, when I try to force it slightly back it starts hurting a little bit. I don’t know how to manage this issue

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I recommend discussing this with your doctor. This is a medical issue that is outside of my area of expertise. You might try the exercises and just make sure that the jaw is gliding and not being forced back.
