Yes, I have personally seen a ghost when I was a kid of about 10. In broad daylight. There was an old abandoned shed/hut surrounded by a small woodland and bushes. Myself and 2 of my friends were riding our track bikes on the scrubland where the old shed was. As I was riding, a tall figure dressed in old fashioned clothing came from the hut, walking towards me. He was a young black african. Probably around 17 years old ? very smartly dressed like a servant boy from the 1800's. He walked in my direction, smiling. Then just vanished as I was about 12ft from him. My 2 mates didn't see it as they were riding some distance from me. True story. That was back in the late 60's in Lowestoft UK.
Finally!!! Another ghost walk! And yea.... i do believe in ghost. I mean i really deny them since my family have had encounters in the past. I remember after my dad died, i would smell like coffee being made in the kitchen for months after his funeral. He was the only one who drank coffee in the house and we had not bought any since before he passed. He had been in hospital for months prior.
Hey cool dude! I used to work at Shanklin Theatre from 1995-1997 as part of the theatre company. I have experienced a few strange things during rehearsals there. One evening myself and a fellow performer were standing on the stairs between the dressing room and stage when a cold blast of air whooshed past us!! I frequently saw a figure out of the corner of my eye stood in the wings (which were empty) when on stage. A freind of mine who was the director lived there upstairs for a few weeks when moving house and he heard a party in full swing coming from the downstairs bar. He thought someone had broken into the theatre. On investigation he opened the bar door and the noise stopped, the room was in darkness so he ran back upstairs and slept with the tv on all night!
Just after Thanksgiving dinner while up at the cottage my hubby and I went for a walk along the road after dark. Nice, quiet country road walk next to a lake where most of the cottages were already closed for the year and the moon was bright enough to let us not need out flashlights all the time. One side of the road was the lake and cottages, the other side open fields. Sounds quite nice right? Well, out here in Canada when people pass each other on walks we wave and say hello. We're walking along and in the dark and think we see a person so we wave but they don't; also we notice they aren't walking. Worried we've stumbled across a weirdo I say hi aloud but no response. At this time I turn on my flashlight and aim it at the ground hoping the light will splash on our silent friend there but where the light touches is empty space. My husband responds about how there is someone there why can't the flashlight find them. I point my flashlight directly at it and it wasn't there, move the flashlight away and it was there. My hubby then says; "Behind us." I turn and look and he's doing the same thing to a 'person' who is also only there when the light isn't touching them. Same shape, same height, exact same everything. Things really went to pot when we both agreed that we saw more in the field now too. I asked him to say how many on the count of three and we both said three at the same time. They always stayed about 3 meters (10ft away from us) but a couple more did show up before we made it back to the cottage. The next morning when the sun was fully up we decided we would go back on our walk and find the mailboxes, fence posts, or whatever that had spooked up the night before. Problem is there was nothing that could have caused it. The field didn't even have bushes. I don't know if we encountered ghosts or what people call 'shadow people' but from then on we only did our walks at that place when the sun was out.
Yay! I love a ghost walk 👻I'm open to the idea that ghosts (or something causing people's experiences which we have yet to observe or understand scientifically) exist but I'm highly skeptical. I suspect that with scientific advances, in a couple of hundred years people will be looking back on us nowadays and our theories about ghosts with pity and mirth, in the way that we look back on people of olden times and their beliefs about witches and fairies to explain phenomena that we now understand rationally. I find ghost stories entertaining though.
I agree. I was watching 'Uncanny' and there was an interesting theory that mould spores caused people to hallucinate and they are often activated by building work.
I remember sitting in the pilot boat way way back with the owner and the head barman. It had been a busy day and we where having one for the road, when suddenly the kitchen door behind the bar flew open with a loud bang and a cold breeze past my back sending the hairs on the back of my neck up as i saw a strange shadow pass the port hole window. My boss turned white and the barman gave out a holy @##$! What was that? I
Yes absolutely. I was a sceptic until I saw the ghost of Derek Acorah which I thought was ironic. Now Sam visits me regularly. Great walk as always Cool Dude!
Ahh great vid! We'd just come back from a ghost walk in York when we watched your vid so it was perfect timing. No, I don't believe in ghosts but I love ghost tours because you get to learn about the dark history of a place and the stories are fun. By the way, the Blair witch mini Marek picture at the end was genius. Haha!
That 'ghost' was just a water droplet on the camera lens, the light refracted in the water droplet like a prism and split it into those light rays on the lens.
The storm of '87 aka the day I was born! I've always felt a tad responsible for the loss of piers and trees that day, though I've yet to be haunted by either so they don't seem to bear a grudge... 👻 Spooky walk Cool Dude, the darkness and rain really added to the fear factor!
Hey there, cool video! 👻 Really enjoyed the ghost walk in Shanklin. The spooky stories were fascinating. 🕷 📖 And those Halloween snacks, yikes! 😱 Keep up the awesome content! 🎃
Excellent ghost walk, Marek. Thanks, enjoyed it very much. Poor Albert... I like theatre ghosts. Yes. My wife and I witnessed a ghost descending stairs one night around 2-ish. It was a luminous human apparition. It descended the stairs and walked to the kitchen. I had no idea my wife saw it as well until she she grabbed my arm and asked me if I saw the ghost. We were doing renovations at the time and the builders complained about missing tools found in other rooms and footsteps in the loft.
I was watching an episode of a ghost programme called 'Uncanny', in which an expert said that ghost sightings often take place after renovations to a house.
Scary stuff #1! I hope that when you were eating those candy brains a little old lady was walking past and just saw a random, bald man feverishly chomping on human brains in the middle of the night and passed out from fear! Lastly, catch me all month as Shrek off, off, off, off, off Broadway in Shanklin!
No, but my car boot opened itself yesterday morning while at home. Did you know that in Victorian London few hobbyists had more enthusiasm for the breeding process of Pigeons than Charles Darwin. He owned a diverse flock of Pigeons, joined several London pigeon clubs and hobnobbed with famous breeders. Darwin's passion for Pigeons influenced his 1868 book The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication, which has not one but two chapters about pigeons (dogs and cats share a single chapter).
I was in Shanklin only yesterday ! Luckily the ghosts did not cause any inconvenience 😥 I have seen something I cannot explain but it does not mean it was a supernatural occurrence as you can misperceive things and the mind play tricks, so I don't know 🤷🏻👻
I didn’t see a ghost, but I saw the activity of a ghost, possibly. Stayed in a very large, old house in Wales that was being run as a hotel. Shared a room. At bedtime, went to check the door was locked. Tried the handle. As I walked back to bed, I heard someone rattle the door handle behind me. Looked around and saw it’s final movement. When I stopped, I asked the other bloke if he saw that. He had. I went to the door, and opened it, and there was nobody there. Was a long way to any door or passageway. Not convinced that a prankster could have run away so quickly.
I experienced a visit from a ghost at the age of seven while living in East Africa. I opened my eyes one night to see a small female figure with round black rimmed glasses approaching my bed. She then put her hands through the mosquito net I was under while laughing. I was terrified and went under the blankets for a long time. My parents told me it was a dream but I have always known it was a ghost. My great grandmother died in England around that time and wore the same style of spectacles so maybe it was she who paid me ghostly visit.
Well if I didn’t believe in ghosts before, I do after seeing this video. Never seen a ghost but pretty sure I heard one coming up the stairs one day, n I then noticed the phone had been unplugged. So must’ve been a ghost… either that, or one of dem horror film type killer dudes I heard sneaking in. Preferably the ghost 😬 Just a nice little ghost prank then, isn’t it 🫤 Happy Halloween Marek 🎃🖤👻
When I lived in Israel I used to take a bus from the kibbutz to the local town. I always felt really creeped out as the bus passed a certain spot. This was just outside Caesarea. Many battles took place in the area. My hair almost stood on end.
I think a lot of ghosts are actually people's inherited memory. If you put people from the modern world into an old building while their senses are heightened, they're going to get a strange familiar feeling. Like a polar in a zoo might have never seen snow, but the first time he does he'll feel excited and know exactly what it is. Same thing really. Or maybe I'm a ghost leading the alive people of the scent.
I don't believe in ghosts as per the common perception. Although I've met people who've had otherwise unexplainable poltergeist experiences. When someone talks about a ghost that appears at the same time each day and completing the same movement or routine, I like to believe it's some kind of energy left like a scar in the passage of time. There's also a possibility that we don't understand what we might see because we can't comprehend anything beyond the four dimensions we're aware of (including time).
12:10 Ha, Christmas peering round the corner, I love it. Honestly neutral on the subject of Ghosts, but wouldn't begrudge anyone spinning a yarn to get that sweet tourist cash.

Fair play for braving the weather. Hopefully it gets better for another episode
I don't think it has stopped raining this month.
@cdwc It really hasn't. Might be time to create a green and white "Cool Dudes" brolly for us to use.
A chilling reminder that the Isle of Wight is one of the spookiest places in the UK
More ghosts than people.
