    You're absolutely on the right track. Nopon also casually break the forth wall constantly. See: Tatsu winking at the camera, Tora's best girl shirt, half of Tora's combat dialogue, Riku naming a sword after the fan code name for a certain spoiler. Those little bastards are definitely trans dimensional beings of some sort.

      @JurisBlade 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Now that you have me thinking of Riku's choice of the name for the sword as another possible instance of Nopon fourth wall-breaking, my imagination is playing around with the idea that Riku has actually watched Chuggaaconroy's Xenoblade Chronicles "Let's Play" (specifically, Episode 54, just after the 10 minute mark, where he uses that exact phrase to explain why he likes the code name). IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T PLAYED XENOBLADE CHRONICLES: watching that WILL spoil something big, unless you already know about it, so use discretion.

    My theory for the last few years has been that Nopon are Alvis' Artifices. There's only 2 established events that could've theoretically created them, and one of them is the existence of the Trinity Cores pre-Klaus experiment, and since there's no evidence to say they were made by the Klaus experiment, but also no evidence to say they weren't made by one of the Trinity Cores.
    It is entirely within reason, Alvis made Nopon to just fuck with people. I rest my case.

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is that even a joke? The logical conclusion seem to unironically be that they're extra-dimensional beings from an higher plan of existence. They might even be the species of the wave existence from Gears. Think about it, they exist in every world, they don't seem to come from anywhere, they're never directly affected by the problems of the world they live in. X says they were supposed to not intervene to stop the endless now and for a reason. They're not even affected by Origin and the rebirth cycle. Just look at the nopon archsages with their immense power who can exist in a space between dimensions and gather Rex and Shulk beyond space and time. They probably play the same game as the moebius but at a universal scale, watching the flow of time unfold as they participate in it in a minor way like a game, faking to be powerless but exist outside of the timeline.

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      That's unironically more than just a joke when you think about it. The Nopons could really be the same species as the wave existence from Xenogears who lives on a higher plan of existence the Zohar pulls its energy from. They exist in every world. The Nopons archsages even exist between dimensions where they can make Rex and Shulk meet beyond space and time. They're not even directly affected by the world they live in. As X said, the Nopons weren't supposed to intervene and for good reason because they're not affected by Origin and aren't a part of the rebirth cycle. They play the same game as the moebius but at a universal scale, watching the events unfold and participate in it in a minor way, faking to be powerless while they're not affected by the timeline.

    I've noticed this too. Currently my working theory is that with how Fogbeasts are being portrayed similarly to Gnosis that Nopon are meant to monitor a world for Fog and commune with the Fogbeasts in an attempt to bring them back to the afterlife, and that the Nopon information network is shared through the same method that the Bionis and Alrest did - Light, presumably ether but we don't actually know what that was meant to mean.
    This is supported by four of their 5 attempts to interfere in critical events in an attempt to stop fog spreading, while the only one that isnt directly or indirectly shown as responsible for setting up chain events leading to the clearing of black fog is from the game that probably WOULD'VE had black fog if it was thought up/if hypothetically its direct immediate comparison was properly implemented into the final game like it was in concept:
    Riki interfered unknowingly for the purpose of killing Klaus to seal off the fog rift tied to Zanza.
    Kino and Nene interfered directly to seal away the fog rift on Alcamoth.
    Tora saved Rex which resulted in being able to seal the Fog Rift on the side of Alrest simultaneous to the sealing of the Fog Rift in Alcamoth.
    Riku was present and gave sage advice to the entire party of Future Redeemed, where Alpha is shown either wielding or actively under siege from a Fog Rift and tons of fogbeasts have sprouted up across Aionios, as well as was the single most important everyday run of the mill nopon by BEING DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR STOPPING FOG FROM ENCROACHING ON BOTH WORLDS BY GIVING NOAH FIORA'S AVATAR AFTER WAITING 900~ YEARS.
    Lastly, Tatsu is interfering to gather information on Mira. Presumably if X was retconned to include recent lore revelations from the Klaus Saga, the cut Black Tar would be swapped out with Black Fog as Mira is directly bringing endangered species into its fold to trap and preserve them for all eternity, which if anything has been shown by the black fog's behaviour, yeah that planet's about to be one massive annihilation event in X2 for defying death just like Zanza and Moebius.
    I don't think they're intending to hide information, just archiving it in case any of the worlds they're trying to save from the fog gets eviscerated by an annihilation event courtesy of knockoff gnosis. Best part? If Monolithsoft wanted to go INCREDIBLY meta here and include our universe into the Xenoblade multiverse fold, this Nopon information archive is the in-universe explanation for how the Xenoblade games are even being made as Monopon could relay this information to Monolithsoft in order for game development to begin around those events.

      I dig the idea that Nopon across timelines can exchange information

  • @wutmagna7222
    @wutmagna7222 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

    Honestly.
    Honestly.
    Nopon probably were just native to sone world in a seperate dimension to Klaus's world (probably Mira), and then got pulled into the worlds of Bionis and Alrest in the process of the Conduit(Zohar) experiment, leaving a stable population for them to exist in all of Xenoblade 1/2/3. It would also explain why they're external to the flow in 3, since they're just external to both worlds entirely, and thus don't play by the same rules as everyone else born from that birth of a universe.
    Whether or not they can freely move between dimensions is a question that will likely only be addressed in Xenoblade X6 when any of this becomes relevant.

    • @HunchbackOfNotreJon
      @HunchbackOfNotreJon 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Tatsu spoke about Mira as if it's his homeworld, but I theorize nopon are an interdimemsional evolution of Chu-Chu. That is to say events repeat as universes restart, but the details change. Basically, the concept of lifecycles in Xenoblade 3 and Gears applied to the universes Gears, Saga, X, and Blade. Like if Gears' universe evolves into Saga's and so forth, repeating characters and events but blending elements of past versions to form a new timeline.

      Yeah... and thus their origins are also confusing... they have to be from the real world, right? Before the experiment, just like all the other monsters in the series... (or most, at least, because there's few enemies exclusive to just XC1 or XC2.) So, maybe they're just further evolved versions of birds from earth? But then what are Ignas? Evolved from some kind of lizard? And then nopon... god knows... but maybe this theory is true and can explain the origin of nopon too? I just don't see what they could've evolved from... potatoes?!?? I mean, with all the Tatsu jokes... but even then...
      I wish we had SOME evidence as to the origin of nopon, because i honestly doubt we'll get the answer in XC4...

    Something I realized, during the cutscene at Prison Island, right before Metal Face is fixing to kill Zanza we see a shot from his POV. This is the only time we see from a Face pov but when he’s looking at the group in front of Zanza, everyone is glowing. This makes me think the Faces can easily see anything made of Ether so they can hunt down things easier. Well everyone from the group is glowing aside from Riki, which makes me think he is definitely not made of Ether. This would support your idea of the Nopon not being created by Zanza at all, so they are made of something else. The Faces have no use in killing a Nopon because it’s not helping their cause, it would be a waste of time to go after them

    “I was told…Nopon aren’t supposed to interfere. Maybe they were wrong.” as X says in Eunie’s side story when Riku coaches Eunie by telling her Moebius is scared of Ouroboros feels like a clue to me.
    It could just mean that they’re a neutral party between Z and the rest, pretty much the merchant role of all the games, neutral in the war.
    But considering X and Y are basically “second in command” to Z and have very high privileges in the system (going by the XC3 art book interview analogy) there could be more to it.
    I’m thinking they’re some kind of external force, overseers or observers of everything that’s going on. Like some nanobot maintenance crew in the Origin context or the bacterial flora of the Bionis or something.
    Preserving the status quo, but not necessarily partial to either faction.
    I feel like this meshes pretty well with the hive mind theories mentioned in this video, even though it’s unclear how much the Nopon are canon and how much they’re just used to break the fourth wall.

    I'm not sure if you can read too much into nopon being "natives of mira", since the running idea atm (and theory i'm leaning towards) is that mira is a 2nd aionios and that sometime after future redeemed they used origin again to bring multiple planets together (makes sense if you see the concept art for mira). So if mira is just another simulation world, then nopon cant really be original natives though they might well get the past memories used to make up the world. Given that in the xb3 interview they said all the nopon were fully aware of what was happening and they were all just playing along, i'm guessing the "natives of mira" part was just another clever lie
    A more interesting question is since future redeemed made the saga universe canon to xenoblade, where are the nopon there? Also if the nopon are "outside the flow" and dont appear to have origins in either universe (they dont appear to be in the klaus flashback either), then could the nopon archsages actually be more canon than we thought. That they actually exists outside the universes and can maybe can pluck characters out of their stories for entertainment

    In mi mind the nopons are particle collider crew wich was transformed in these wise and silly beings who live across the xeno world. This is why they know so much about the thing yet do nothing and are not affected by the events in the story. they supposed to be there an at same time do not

    Klaus (sub)consciously created them and Tirkin for the same reason he made kaijus and anime girls. XBX doesn’t work with this theory unless its way at the end of the timeline though

    Am so hype that Xenoblade can become more like the Fate series since ever-since that moment in 2 with X concept art tower they can easily brew up some those planets they never got to make for OG X an tie them to anything they desire
    they can't just do what they have done then stop pushing it further

    Man, I've been really questioning nopon since the reveals on riku, too. If theres continuity between saga and blade now, where did they come from? In saga there are no aliens, outside of gnosis, so how did they get there?
    My crackpot theory; nopon represent players of saga that never got their sequel

    I've just always believed nopon were prevalent enough on the planet before claus caused the split. And thus were just a race that zanza felt like including as sentient enough to make. When he was willing to remake humans as homs. Nopon were the only other intelligent and sapient species on earth. But using transdimensionsl beings, to describe nopons, also work I suppose 🤷🏻

    Nopon are just kinda...Nopon. It is heavily implied that they are native(Like, nobody in Xenoblade 1 made a comment on how Zanza didn't create them or anything. And from how Klaus' new world shaped up, we know that Zanza's creations are simply altered restorations from what was on the original earth), but they are also somehow fundamentally diffrent from other organic life(Every living thing has some sort of shared genetics, which is why anything and everything is compatible with the blade-system...minus Nopon, they aren't. Every blade made specifically for them is seemingly incompatible with natural drivers and vice versa.)

    I though the same thing about Nopon some time ago. Clearly there are more about those furball that meet the eye.
    When you think about it nopon may seem dumb dumb they are freaking smart ; in three games they are the best merchant, wich suggest high level of social inteligence, and always among the best engineer. In xc2 one of them managed to replicate a full blade by himself, while "natural" balde are supposed to already rely on highly advanced tech. I would also like to point that many of them where implicated in the creation of origin (alrest part at least), wich is a damn world recreation machine.
    Personaly I would lean more on the idea than nopon are just a higly invas... I mean adaptative life form from another world that ended up in the two world due to conduit shenanigan. They may play a bigger role in the future but I do not expect a plot twist like they are higher being or something like that.
    About your video I would just like to point out than in xc1 nopon are targeted by mechon. If you do sidequest of colony 6 you can meet several nopon among survivors who lost family or (nopon) friend due to the mechon attack (ex : Pama). It doesn't invalidate your idea than nopon exist outside zanza cycle though, I just wouldn't see Egil programming his mechon army with the order "do not harm the cute furball beceause it's useless please".
