I agree with basically everything you said but I do have a special relationship with the combat that I found extremely memorable and satisfying. I love self-imposed challenges when it's appropriate. I'm not the biggest Final Fantasy fan especially the traditional combat titles. I must say that the boss fights that aren't in the main campaign are absolutely brilliant but when applying self-imposed challenges. For the first several boss fights, I defeated them without taking damage, without dodging and without magic attacks. This improved the combat for me significantly and it's a shame that the game doesn't encourage it. There was this one attack that I figured out the free spacing for and it was one of the most satisfying moments in gaming for me. I have all of these documented on my channel. I'm pretty sure I'm still the only person with these achievements but I haven't looked in a while so there has to be someone out there by now. I'm not saying all of this to brag but instead to help push for an appreciation for self-imposed challenges that I feel everyone should try.
I found that the frame rate is fairly consistent now, but you will notice that it blurs pretty heavily in large areas or when alot is happening to keep from dropping.
I’ve heard people who never played final fantasy before this game love it. It’s an epic adventure and the combat is great. So there’s a bit of this isn’t the final fantasy I remember. Which is fair.
I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the horrendous performance mode that makes the game look like 480p while it still can't reach a consistent 60fps. The new FF 7 Rebirth has the same problem but without the fps drop. They just can't get the performance mode right for some reason. I bought FF 16 and couldn't play it because of that so I felt like you leaving that part out of the review was a mistake. Just like me buying the game was a mistake. Now I have to wait for it to launch on PC to play it. All the other problems that you mentioned are pushed aside when the game is broken both in visuals and performance.
I can tell this guy Canadian, the way his says “Out” and “About” 😂
Newfie !
How'd you guess!? Thanks for watching.
Sounds like a video game.

I love this game for me all ways going to be my top 15
Great review. Is the games framerate in performance mode still not consistent 60fps? I recall there were some serious frame drops.
I just played the DLC a few days ago. The fps still hovers around 40-50 fps outside of combat unfortunately

Great review ! Keep up the good work!

I think it's more of the fact that its such a huge departure from previous games. Plus the massive tonal shift half way through.
I hate the main characters hair. He looks like some emo dude or something
i feel like thats been the style of hair for alot of characters from FF games
Every damn FF character looks emo 😂

This game failed in everything.

you’ve failed in life 🤡😂😂😂🤡
@@whysoserious4464Final Fantasy Rebirth is the greatest FF game ever made
I thought capcom made devil may cry and square enix made final fantasy?
Square hired someone from Capcom to do the battle system.
