I also replaced all 4 speakers on my B5.5. But I bought adapters/spacers on aliexpress, I also bought special speaker wires with socket that allows you to connect OEM speaker plug without any wire splicing. Those threaded rivets on a first look seems like a good idea, I am just afraid that those rivets doesn't allow speaker spacer lay flush with door panel, there is a risk of water ingress into interior if its not sealed properly.
Great job! And the quality of the video is at least 9/10. Great video shooting and editing skills, and the music was neither in poor taste nor overbearing. And your soft speech makes it easily listenable.
It’s funny because two years ago I saw a video of you who helped me a lots to install an android car radio to passat b5, for connections with contact cut 75x, and I had also met this problem left the suite with speakers, and we have almost the same idéa to create wooden supports, good job.
Hi, I hope you are having a great weekend, what sizez are the screws used in the video? My rivet nut tool is ariving this monday, but I still need the screws to fill the hole, if you mind sharing what M size are the rivvets used in the video
hey, doubt you will respond but i just want to ask. Im thinking of changing the speakers and tweeters through all the doors, do i need to use filters? and is an amplifier manditory or i can go without it?
Great job! Looks clean and professional. I am interested to see the solution for the back doors + how are you planning to AMP the speakers. There is also a very cool way to adjust the gains properly with only a multi-meter and a short formula, but that's in case you are using an amplifier. I doubt the head unit would be powerful enough to amp the speakers properly. I also drive Passat B5. I would be happy to share information in regards to the car audio :) Keep the good work!
Much respect! My car came with the monsoon amp. So with the factory amp plus the radio, they power all fours speakers with no problem. I was planning to bypass the factory amp and install a new amp just for the door speakers, But after I heard how they play with the factory amp I was surprised.
Yea, I know about the plastic ones online. They are universal and I didn't want to order and wait, only to find out it's not a good fit. Much respect 🙏
Great video as always, I will be using this video to replace mine on my own B5.5. In my opinion the original speakers sound very good, especially paired with a subwoofer. Were your speakers a big improvement compared to the stock ones? Thanks.
480 watts haha ok,you are aware when it says that on the box its talking about total,so 240 each but i seriously even doubt that, but anyways nice work, nice set of tools you got there,i need me a drill press like that im getting old,so no foam or automotive silicone under the wood dude that would help and tons of deadener i know you know that, the only thing you have to look out for guys doing double stack with wood guys is your running into the problem its called chamfering.your literally choking the speaker, take a speaker hold it in your hands and wrap them around it or put your baffle rings around it and look, theres no where for the speaker to function properly.just a tip guys, read up on it,chamfering speakers.well enjoy the tunes, crank it up
Man I'm so happy you are keeping this generation alive it's the best generation in my opinion. It looks sooo timeless!
Thanks! Yea, I agree. This car was well built and designed. They don't put in that much time and effort into cars these days anymore.

And I am glad I am not the only one who loses bits from my drill press in the material! :)
Much respect! Yea, that's the reason I always have to keep extra bits.

@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Cheers!
Informative content , clean video and clean mod 🔥🔥🔥.
What’s the thickness of plywood you are using?
What is the diameter of ring inside and outside?
Thanks a lot Man
I appreciate your effort and sharing your experience
Much respect and thanks for watching!
looks dope! wouldn't be easier to just have the ring spacers 3D printed?
Thanks! Initially I thought about 3d printing, but then I realized I'd have to make the design, then wait a long time for them print. Lol
Bro there are fitments for the speakers that you can buy online, is your method better? Thank you for the great video!

Yes, these upgraded speakers are much better than the stock ones. Night and day difference.
