Greetings from Texas. Oooh I miss eating this. I used to buy this from a local kid who goes around Tamuning selling his yummy Tamales. I give him extra to help his business. Thank you for sharing this. Too bad I do not have any banana trees around my block. Keep sharing, stay well and keep safe. Si yu'us ma'ase or God bless.
I bet it is delicious! Lastly, sticky rice with mango is yummy, so I think I'd try your sweet tamales with ice cream and mangoes. I might add roasted sesame seeds to it. Thank you!
Hȧfa Adai ylokos, si Yu’us Ma’ȧse lokkue' for stopping by. I enjoy everything I've been doing to help share and promote the food and culture of Guam. Biba Guȧhȧn!!
Clean, cut off the spines of the “COCONUT LEAVES” ….yep, you said that! Coconut leaves would be palms right….should be: banana leaves…lol loved this!!!
Thank you and you're welcome!! I loved doing the video. I have more ingredients in freezer to make some cuz I've run out. Have a great week, Katherine!!

Clever! The heated sweet tamales, ice cream and mango!
Mona, it's incredibly delicious...but use the ripest, yummiest mango!
I'm happy eating it by itself, its my favorite!!! I don't need to add on any other, 😋
Me too, cold at that!

This is one of my favorites as a child growing up in 🇬🇺. Now I can attempt to make this . Thank you
Yes, you can!
You can easily make the banana leaf pliable by heating it over your gas stove.

Using foil is easier for me than wrapping it with banana leaves. I only use the banana leaves for the apigigi.
Could we use this recipe with corn husks, too?
I've never tried, but I don't see why not. It will have a subtle corn husk flavor like the banana leaves have a subtle earthy flavor.
@@GuamMamaCooks okay thank you! Was just curious! God bless and happy holidays!
Is it ok to not use the young coconut?
Hafa Adai! The young coconut is a must for this specific recipe.
