      You’re right because I’m skinny I weigh about 112 in my bum doesn’t look that bad but can you put it in a high waisted jean and I’m just telling you it does not look right!! The pocket placement is important where are the pockets are important how long the park it’s our is important where they said is important so much is important and then you got the length and oh my gosh just please!!!!! Thank you for this great video. It is very helpful. And thank you for not recommending elastic waist for women that are plus size. I am apple shaped and I have heard other TH-cam stylist say that people with our body type should just give up on jeans all together or wear elastic waist. That isn’t going to happen for me. I’m going to try to make the best of what I have. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos. So happy I found your channel.

    100% cotton denim with no stretch, hides many figure flaws. I do not like jeans with stretch as they tend to show all the bumps and bulges in the thighs.

      @jodybucci285 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@joycej9415 I’ve found Levi’s 501 jeans are all cotton. Some of their jeans have a very small amount of stretch, which is acceptable. You are right, I don’t wear heavy jeans in the heat of summer. I have found casual lightweight cotton pants that work when it’s hot outside.

    Great video. I have started to move away from so much stretch. I find myself with a baggie butt by the middle of the day.
    I also find these jeans wear out easier. They just don't spring back, so it's time for new jeans.
    I usually stay with 1 or 2 percent stretch. Nice balance for me, outside my 501.

    Last year I bought Straight Wedgie jeans from Levis and I’m loving them. They’re 99% cotton and fit great. I’m 5’0” hourglass shape and the 28” inseam fits great with flats, sneakers and wedge heels. I also like Denizen skinny high rise jeans.

    Hello, I am 5'8" hourglass shape. My most flattering jeans are the skinny jean and straight slim. The inseam must be 11-12" rise, so it will sit at my waist. JCrew has the best curvy fit that I have found so far.

  • @magnificalux
    @magnificalux ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Perfect timing! I was looking to buy jeans for summer. Post-pandemic, I stopped wearing jeans for a bit and wore black linen pants with elastic waist, but now I'm slowly getting back to wearing my skinny jeans again. As a petite woman, skinny jeans look best on me right now. Other jeans are unforgiving. Previously owned low-rise, slightly flared, lightly washed jeans. Those were my favorite for a really long time. Also had similar style in dark denim too! It elongated my legs, even when I wore it with my sneakers (trainers). Now, I'm looking for a new style of jeans in light denim or white denim. Most likely going to invest in straight leg jeans with high rise waist. Bootcut style is always recommended to me by sales associates, but I never end up buying it because it just does not fit well in the crotch area and it bunches up around the ankles. Having to alter your jeans all the time before the arrival of skinny jeans has been the bane of my existence! 😑👖
    EDIT: Diana, can you recommend classy shoes or shoe styles? Been looking for a shoe update! I've been looking at pointy ballet flats or loafers, but anything you think is something we can all invest in that I can add to my capsule wardrobe? Thanks!

    I swear idk if it’s just me but my body is so complicated. Short girl, short legs, short torso. All this time I thought high-waisted jeans were universally flattering. But knowing I have wide hips, short torso, low to mid rise jeans really accentuates my figure and create an illusion of longer torso. My legs are short, so one tricky part for me is finding cuts that elongates my legs. But I usually never go for flare pants, either skinny or straight.

    As a 5'0" woman, 30-inch inseam jeans are still too long on me. I have found 28- or 29-inch jeans fit me best. In addition, despite being an athletic or narrow-column build, I cannot wear high-waisted jeans as they rise too high on my abdomen. I really can only wear mid-rise comfortably. I really appreciate the information on the fly length and pocket size, angle, and placement. I will definitely be more discriminating in my purchases going forward!

    • @lindsiria
      @lindsiria ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Same here. I end up needing a 25-26 inch inseam if the pants are meant to be cropped or ankle length. Anything over 28 inches I almost always need to get hemmed. It's quite annoying as soooo many brands have petite inseams being 30-34 in length at times.

    Great advice and great timing because for years, since the explosion of Lycra and elastane, I can’t find jeans. I’m on a jeans mission right now to prep for going back to the office to business casual, emphasis on casual. The one brand that fit with 98% cotton is discontinued. You’ve given me new hope: to look at mid rise. And options are slim for 5’1” and US size 20W. Petites are too small for my bigger booty and bootcut look ridiculous; have never seen bootcut as you described that fit slim above the knees. An ask: please include plus size links in future related releases. Thanks!

    Hey Diana, I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for this video. I’m a pear shape and I have bootcut, wide leg, baggy, cropped mom, slim fit, cropped skinny jeans, mostly all cotton. As you can see I’m a jeans lover. But I’m still to find a straight leg with a loose fit that doesn’t look like either a wide leg or boot cut on me. The issue with my waist and hip difference is the gap at the waistline which I almost always need to alter and the fact it’s too fitted on my hips when I actually want to wear a loose fit. I also have kept my old low rise jeans and I’m not sure yet if I want to wear them again…

    5"3" means a 30" inseam is still 3" too long. I am so tired of hemming the boot cut out of existence, leaving the legs mostly straight unless I do something drastic, like taking a tuck at the knee. Basically, nothing "off the rack" ever fits properly. But thanks for describing what to look for.

I feel like I have a size 8 waist and size 12 thighs. Currently I only own size 8 wide leg, high waist, but I'm not confident they suit me. I am a girl with a lot of curves (between my waist and my hips there is a difference of almost 40 cm and the same thing between my waist and my breasts) and I also have very thick thighs, and I am also very short (153 cm ). Until last year I only wore skinny jeans because they were the only ones that fit both my hips and my waist, but I always felt uncomfortable, especially around my thighs. Then I discovered Wide leg jeans, which incredibly are the only ones to make my thighs appear less thick and my leg slimmer, especially if they are long and worn with heels. They are also much more comfortable than skinnies. Of course they are very wide at the waist, but just modify them or use a belt. Unfortunately for me flare jeans only highlight my flaws and make me look much fatter, while moms make me even more disproportionate than I am. So wide leg for life.

    All though I am hourglass shaped, bootcut doesn't flatter my figure...only straight high waist jeans with minimum elasticity (1% elastan 99%cotton)

    Maybe you can help me. I'm 5'2". Every jean i try on and have drives me crazy. My waist and hip size are pretty much the same size. In other words i have NO butt😅 I've got mid rise and they sag big time in the crotch area. I've done belts, higher rise and nothing helps. What am i doing wrong? Help!! Anyone!!

    Thank you for full details with lots of ideas to consider. Personally I have a bit curvy and petite. I have said goodbye to most of elastic blend cotton, except it helps with some models like slim fit. Also I mostly have to get it tailors at the legs because I'm a short woman. But it's worth and makes me look perfect in each pair. I have had trial and error with my younger version of cloths. Now I know my body type. Thanks again. 😊

    I disagree with the pear shaped / wide hips amd thighs ladies jeans being a bootleg cut. I feel they make my bum and thighs look bigger.

    I wore boyfriend jeans in the early 90s while in college.
    They were literally my boyfriend jeans.

    Your English is amazing! But I can't get rid of the feeling some sounds don't sound English-like... Can't explain this. What's your mother tongue? :)
    I'm impressed though!
